3. Sheba
Trapper and hardy woodsman Abel, along with his dog team, are saved from a wretched storm by the ghost of a dog named Sheba. Later, Abel's sad confession reveals the miracle was woefully undeserved - years ago in a fit of rage, the old trapper had killed Sheba with a snowshoe.
