@@DCMINTON top hole is for lifted trucks and bottom hole is for factory suspension. the diff tilts depending what height you have your suspension. Don't know if this guy did it wrong and why he took out both fill plugs?
Hey josh, have you noticed any problems with the lane keep since doing your lift? Been thinking about doing a lift on my truck, but dont want to compromise functionality
Yeah I kinda feel like the front collision detection was reduced, so I tilted the front radar down slightly and all is well again! Front collision detection and adaptive cruise are both fine
I know this is over two years old and it's been along time since you posted any videos about your ranger or anything else. My question is how long did it take you to install that rear differential cover?
Hey Les! I still answer questions though :) The install was pretty quick, I'd say it was done within an hour and a half and thats because I was positioning the camera and stuff. It's a real easy job!
@@J0shM1lls thanks!! right now I don't have any place to work on my ranger other then in the rain, so I got a quote from my local dealer at 1.1 hours plus gear oil. that's in line, maybe. I just don't like their dollar rate. Thanks for getting back so fast.
I'd love to, but to do it right I'd need the Fenders and all the suspension bits to be imported from overseas. I'm going to get it as capable as I can without spending a fortune :)
Is a drain and fill like just as good as taking off the cover during break in? I’m at 120 miles now and am planning on doing this at 500 but am curious your thoughts! Great truck so far!
John Deere has similar sealing bolts set up, where they use a 3/8 square socket end fitting for removal. So awesome of design. Its like back in 20s when everything was a slotted or as we know them "flat head" screw. Very genius stuff this is ford.
I won't/can't answer for him, but always choose a cover that maintains the radius of the factory pan cover. No square back covers that tout extra fluid capacity.
More protection and sometimes more room for a little more fluid so more lubrication for the gears and maybe better heat resistance keeping your fluid from failing prematurely
@@dad3562 I'd prolly use 2 quartz (easy pack) of Amsoil Severe Gear® 75W-110, although that's more for towing, as well as cold weather. My 2020 Ford Ranger 2WD has a electronic locking differential, so it has slightly less rear differential oil.
@@dad3562 Factory fluids are by far sub-par quality. I use Amsoil, it's 100% synthetic. Everything else on the market is a blend of synthetic and dinosaur crude. Motor, transmission, and diffs.
Those raptor wheels are sick 🔥
Hey Josh, how many quarts of fluid did you use when you did this upgrade? Love the truck btw!
What did you torque the rear cover to? I'm doing the rear diff cover this weekend. Thank you!
Be careful, i torqued to 25 ft/lbs and the bolt snapped off 😫
Just bought a ranger and stumbled across this gorgeous truck... Was planning to do almost everything you've already done!
What is the purpose for two filler plugs?????

Is that rear diff gasket reusable? It looks like it.

Nice! 80w90 full synthetic gear oil?

@@lespeterson3426 Yeah, I wouldn't say their timing is out of line, tell em to charge you a flat hour and call it a day haha.
where you buy this cover? i need one for my ranger
Does it hold any extra fluid?
Does that come with a new gasket?
How much is this cover ?
Are you going to make it into a ranger raptor ?

@@chesteragibon4202Thank you!
Dang man, why didn't you share that part number? I was thinking of putting amsoil in there :O!
I would have put Amsoil in it too. Spend all that money on a new diff cover, then put crappy fluid back in it.

Get the factory fluids out of your vehicle the day you buy it. They're all subpar quality.
The Beaten Paths I absolutely sure did! Thank you so much ☺️

Nicely done. Do you plan to do a driving video of it?
what size tires you got there. i just brought a ranger XLT
They're 285/70/17s.
Gorgeous vehicle. Drool coming out!
Looks soooo good! lift and size tires do you have? i saw it was a bds

I'm definitely going to get that for mine

I don't think there are any other makes yet. I'm going with a Banks one when they produce one for Rangers

Any difference after putting the differential on?
You going to do anything w the exhaust?
How much hp does this add?
No music and some speaking would be more watchable. IMHO
IMHO, you wasted your time & money if you just put factory diff fluid back in it. I get all the factory fluid out of my vehicles ASAP.
Why is that? What do you recommend ?
