The irrational fear of zippers! Exactly - we can all relate to that.
This collection of dresses are beautiful and chic. They appear to be expensive .These would be perfect for working in a upscale boutique. 💐
You have to have “vision” to see something nice out of those pattern cover photos! Each dress looks fantastic on you- way nicer than the cover!
You look amazing in all your makes! I especially love the See and Sew peasant style dress! The fabric is perfect for that pattern! 😊
I haven’t sewn for years but the more I watch your videos the more I am getting tempted! You’re very talented!
Thanks so much, Susan!
These are all pretty, but I liked the second one (green and white) best. I have always loved green, but my kids never wanted green clothes, and it seems to be a trend, so I think that's why green always seems better priced.
Hi Viv… every dress you wore and showed were 5 star 🌟. Colors and prints fabulous 🌺. Thank you for all the positive vibe… see you next time👋
That last dress is ultra flattering. They all are great but love the last one. Oh so pretty
I can get you the last one if you want
hi viv mom i am a male i have been watching your videos for a long time now but first let me wish your beautiful daughter candace every happiness the clothes you made for her are absolutely beautiful prints look good on her your clothes are beautiful and the making of your husband clothes are very nice if your dont mention your mistakes on your clothes you will never see it such beautiful fabrics may god continue to bless you and your family have a blessed day
Wow wow and wow. They are all juste so beautiful. They look gorgeous on you. But my favorite was the last one. The fabric so beautiful and just love the style of the dress. Bravo Viv 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It's also very cute to hear how Candace thinks you can fix that dress. None of my daughters wanted to learn to sew, but they seem to think we are geniuses when we make something beautiful. It's the classic "you make it look easy, therefore it must be easy for you." In sewing you are the equivalent of Ginger Roger's dancing backwards in high heels, lol!
congratulations to Julie Ann More Edwards!!!
Enjoy the video and your makes. Nice to visit with you today.
Congratulations Julie Ann! I love the peacock dress
Hi I am missing your videos! My other favorite sewists quit doing theirs, and I am suffering from the doldrums. I have had 2 surgeries in the last 6 weeks and I am bored and need some inspiration to get back to sewing as soon as my body is able. So get on it beautiful lady! Just kidding. I do miss you.
Aww thanks Nancy. I’m kind of rethinking my role on RUclips, I don’t have the zeal for it anymore. But I am sewing and will share what I’ve made in June!👍
The green floral dress screams summer bridal shower and that last telio fabric dress is so resort! Throw all of them in a suitcase and take a cruise!! Thanks for including fabric type, pattern and lessons learned! I sewed my first invisible zip yesterday and only had to rip it out once! Now I'm not scared either! Victory!
Happy to hear it, Kim, well done!👏👏
The one with the big yellow flowers is my favorite......love it!!!
The last dress, 6652 New Look, is my favorite. It looks great on you Viv.
Congratulations to my namesake Julie you are a lucky lady. There are some stunning fabrics coming your way. Love your new fashion show Viv. They all look lovely and cool 😎 ready for the hot weather which is still yet to reach us in the UK. Shame about Candace’s dress…. But we live and learn 🤷♀️ now back to my sewing machine🪡🧵
Love the last dress on you,you look absolutely stunning! But you would look good in a bin bag! Have a lovely weekend, much love🌺🌹🥂
Each was cuter than the previous. Can they all be my favorite?
I love Anna Maria Horner. I’ve made several dresses with her cotton prints and they’re a nice weight and gorgeous prints.
Beautiful!! Beautiful!! Beautiful!! And you got so much benefit out of the Mother-of-the-Bride experience all around. Like going to a master class. Yay!! Invisible Zips are tamed! 🤗🤗🌹🌹🌹 Was sorry to hear of the loss of inseam pockets on that cute shift dress. I’d guess the pockets were off grain and/or the stitching pulled the other fabric off grain. The twisting and tugging etc…that’s what it tells me. Though the dress is still pretty. You could make a little matching bag! Or a hair scarf… ok, I’ll go away now ….
told you I couldn't wait to see your makes and you did not disappoint!! the new look 6652 in crepe de chine was my favorite and you look so good in it!!
congrats, Julie. have lots of fun with your new stash.
So cute for Candace...too bad it didn't fit her and no she is not small chested...she has a very cute figure...very blessed girl! Everything looks so nice VIVMOM and thank you for giving me more wonderful ideas to sew. You keep me inspired!🤗
I love the last one you were wearing. It looks so sharp on you.
5836 Butterick, Just love the dress and the length, very flattering!
Sweet Vivmom , marvellous dressesThe first one looks vintage, the last one looks modern, all dresses look good as always
Congratulations Julie
Vivmom Vavoom! the last dress is a show stopper!
CONGRATULATIONS Julie!! HAPPY Sewing! GREAT JOB Viv!😍😍
Love that peacock fabric!
Everyone of those dresses were fabulous.
Love all the dresses but my fav. is the dressy last one .Thanks for sharing.
Viv, such a sweet video. Loved it, the patterns and fabric choices 👌
I love all the dresses you made and they all look great on you!😁
The fabric for the last dress, awesome 🤗👏👏👏
Always awesome sewing, and yes I understand about invisible zippers. 😀
That last dress on you Viv is fabulous. ✔️💐❤️
All of your dresses look beautiful on you! You used such pretty fabrics!
Thanks for modeling the finished product.
I love the peacock fabric so much! I love the length of it, too. I don't know when I woke up to a world where women, even young women (I'm not so much anymore), get upset over a skirt above the knee! It's more flattering on me anyway, so I do what calls me and wear bike shorts underneath ;) . They'll have to pry my mini skirts away from my cold, dead knees. Now I just wish I had your lovely, square shoulders so I didn't have to make so many adjustments. Thanks for the summer ideas!
I absolutely love every single look and you show them so well. I agree that the lace green ribbon in the front just adds such a nice famine and touch
Congratulations, Julie!
They are very pretty! I really like the Peacock . Congratulations to the winner!💐
I wish you to be the winner
Oh dear me! I love all of your dresses! So glad I found you! I have been sewing for at least 50 years! Since I was 15 😘. Absolutely adore the last dress you have on AND the peacock dress & fabric!!!!! PS- I am a “pocket girl” too!!! 😃
wow!!! gorgeous makes, Viv- thanks for sharing!
Hi Vivian! It's 1:50 a.m. and I just felt I had to have some fun, before sleeping, by watching one of your videos. Oh yes, I have often watched them more than once. And, my second viewing of your Summer Dresses video was every bit as enjoyable the second time, as it was the first, maybe even more. I just love each and every dress you made. The fabrics were lovely, the patterns chosen for each showed you and the fabric off to perfection. I think, perhaps, my favourite was the first dress. I agree, the colors and design in this fabric are just gorgeous. I loved the style and am just amazed how beautifully it fit with so few pieces and seams. The dress you made for Candace was very cute. I couldn't help but smile as you reenacted the conversation between the two of you. She is such a gracious person who would not dream of hurting her Mother's feelings and it was obvious she really was doing her best to love the dress. I think you made the best decisions for everyone concerned, and it is easy to imagine the lucky lady's face who discovers this dress and, when trying it on, is over the moon because she feels like it was made with her in mind. I know she will be saying aloud to a friend, "I just can't believe someone would donate this brand new, absolutely beautiful dress!" Thank you for continuing to share your sewing adventures. Great fun, wonderful advice, and fabulous clothes! 💖
Oh Anita, you are such a darling!!❤️
Now how did I miss this notification. So glad I found it.
Lol enjoy your Sunday Rose
Great review! So beautiful dresses! Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing! Have a great day my friend🌸👍
That last dress, sew fun. Keep inspiring.
Congratulations Julie Ann Moore-Edward's! Viv all your dresses are divine! Love everything you make!❤️👍😊
All the colourful big prints are stunning. I can't do an invisible zipper yet
Everything looks beautiful !!
All of these dresses are beautiful and I love the last one that you modeled and your shoes are perfect!
I love that last dress it is stunnning! It’s a pity Candace’s dress didn’t fit, it is as you say adorable. I wish we were able to take advantage of the fabric mart fabrics. Fabric is much more expensive in NZ.
I love the yellow flowers one very much !
Well done!!

Beautiful absolutely beautiful. U have such a lovely figure and the patterns you pick are always winners!!! Fits you to a T
Each dress is extremely beautiful 😍 Fabric choices exquisite 👌
I would have not even looked at a fabric pattern like the quilting cotton fabric, but Wow, the way you used it is beautiful!
Hi Viv, I really do love watching you show your makes. You are such a lovely person. And you cheer me up no end... keep sewing . Love you ...❤
For Candace’s dress, I’d try bringing it it up at the shoulders by increasing the seam allowance of the shoulder seam. It would reduce both the bodice length and the size of the armhole.
As for the dress you were wearing while discussing Candace’s dress - you are an incredible knockout in that dress. Such flattering lines on you.
You’re an inspiration to us all!
I'm like you with tracking down bargain fabric. It's built in to me.
Love your dresses. Especially the last one. So pretty!!
Love your dresses. You have inspired me to make some summer dresses!!
Love them all! Well done on the zipper fear!!
Beeeutiful dresses! I really like them all….I usually don’t, but kudos! Tata, have a great weekend!
Love all those dresses and you are slim so you look good in anything.😍
That dress is so beautiful on U fits perfect.
Love all of the dresses. 😃I like color. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely dresses again and beautiful fabric…!! 🫶
Every one of these dresses are gorgeous! Watching your videos make me want to go cut something out and sew it up!
Ali are lovely my faves the last two.
I totally understand the conundrum I sewed my own clothing and other items for many many years. I held my mother at nasty look point to teach me how to sew. I found that basing things on a pattern that has already been made it’s just a generalization of a woman’s body. . It’s funny I gave it up for quite a bit while I care for my Alzheimer’s elders and I started making jewelry I’ve had many many domestic careers that something has sparked me and I think it’s the summer. I was very creative with the things I made. I still think I have what it takes to maybe be a designer but my body doesn’t believe me anymore I’ll be 65 on September 11 it’s hard to let go of The things that you loved that forged you into who you are. 🥰 sending many blessings and love to all of you.
You just have an awesome color and fabric sense.
All the dresses look gorgeous on you!
Love, love, love the black fabric. The colors look absolutely fabulous on you.
All cute dresses, although my favorite is the midi with the ruffles at the hem and drop down neckline for date or whatever. Loved the first one with the peacocks fabric. I probably would get in a big fight wearing that!!!
What beautiful dresses! Finally catching up watching your channel. Moving and downsizing big time! Selling my house, looking for a one level townhouse. Living with our daughter for now. Hubby’s metastasized prostate bone cancer extremely painful. Doing my best for him. Glad to watch your cheery episode. Thank you, just what I needed❣️
I have one of those...dust off the machine time.
I adore the peacock fabric! And the green is so adorable.Your final dress is gorgeous.
Congratulations, Julie Ann! Those are great fabrics. Viv, that 1st little shift dress is darling! I can see that in a LOT of different fabrics, how cute would it be in a border print? Get a nice mid weight black pointe knit and make the perfect one. It's just really great on you. I also liked the fit and flare dress. Crepes can be fussy sometimes and often the rippling seams have to do with the thread. Experiment with cotton covered poly, all poly, all cotton and rayon threads. I have better luck using rayon thread with crepe. The dress is perfect with your shoes...a really nice date night outfit. Why not make a skirt for Candace out of the dress? There should be plenty of fabric from the bodice to make a waistband. It would be such a cute summer skirt.
I love ❤️ your makes. I love 👗👗👗👗 have a great day
Hello Viv
The new look pattern for the simple shift dress I just picked up a VOGUE pattern that is exactly the same the yoke and bands at the bottom so simple cute easy summer dress
I have just cut ✂️ it out so hopefully mine looks as great as yours
Thank you for the great idea's and inspiration
Happy sewing 👗
Take care and God bless you
You look so good in everything you make.
Such lovely dresses! Bravo! 👏
I would never buy the butterick pattern for dress number two but I love it. Love the material, love everything about it and it looks really good on you to Viv
Patten number three I had for a wedding in a dusky pink crêpe with deep Boudreaux shoes and bag - how I loved that dress to It was so comfortable but far to formal for day wear
All the dresses in this collection are lovely Viv with beautiful choices of material
Thank you as always for sharing
love your pretty dresses! especially 6652, well, they are all so very nice! have a nice week :) (& yes, the zippers still scare me!)
Simplicity 8910. Is gorgeous on you!!! I don’t know why that just looking at that pattern I would have passed it by… But seeing it made up…it’s perfect. . So long story short, I went and found that pattern and ordered it this afternoon. (right after I watched your video)
I just love, love, love all your dresses.
Gorgeous dresses! Great for summer ✝️🇺🇸🙏
Congratulations to Julie Ann! Looking beautiful in your summer dresses, Viv-I love all of them!

Dear Viv, as always, everything you made looks wonderful on you. A lot of wonderful colors for summer! Hope all is well. Blessings!
I have a question: do you know where I could find a really good swimsuit elastic? I need to repair a suit that the elastic has NOT held up. It needs to be about 1/2" to 1" wide. Thanks, in advance.
Love all your makes, especially the yellow & pink flower one
All of your dresses are amazing.
wow wow I love the butte rick dress !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! with tr ruffle ar hem. I love it. green and white. elastic at the neckline 5836 butte rick
Hi Viv! Great to see you! I just saw the same peacock print last weekend. My family owned 2 peacocks when I was a kid. Neighbors did NOT like prince and Mary Jane!
Oh that’s funny! We had a peacock, with his loooong feathers trailing, randomly walk through our backyard when I was a kid. My dad called the local animal lover to ask what to do and she explained carefully to get a pillowcase and gently place it over the peacock. Umm, what?! She thought he had said Parakeet!! It made for a funny story. Turned out the peacock had gotten away from a small farm of them nearby. Ah, memories. What interesting creatures they are!
