that's how all the reload songs are. when you first hear them you think the original is 10x better, then when you're actually in game and listen to them for 80 hours you appreciate them as much as the original (at least for me that's how it was)

I love how the vibe of the track has shifted. It went from something that was definitely more like a dance track (because the lyrics were pulled from a vocal CD) and now it's more like a chill "hey you're home, so it's time to relax". The one thing that really does that for me is the "let's change the world" from the original is now "let's change the world tomorrow". I dunno, I just think that's neat.

This reminded me of when I played Fate/Extra, I described the music as "distractingly good" because the music would just be going tf off and I'd be too busy jamming to actually read the dialogue.
Much like a lot of the original OST, classic dorm is better. But this is still absolute fire and I love the lyrics

Just started this game and I’ve vibing to this for almost 5 minutes
The original had a vibe of going home and hearing the radio in the distance inside the lobby blasting a banger. This one has a vibe of the track playing more balanced-ambience and more chill. I like both but they are starkly different to me
Going back to Iwastodai Dorm feels goes from "here we go again" to this chill vibe real hard.

I like the original just a little better, but that violin and Lotus Juice's vocals are top-notch. I hate getting excited for games, but I'm getting real excited for this one.
I have a feeling this will grow on me, but I do feel the base from the original keeps it above this one. But... this one has a very chill "hanging out with your buds" vibe, which I love.

I'd say they are equal, I prefer the og's instrumentation but I love the lyrics of the new one, also this jazzy take on the og imo is good

@@cristianoducceschi3547 Jazzy take? This version has pretty much the same instrumentation other than a supporting flute in the second trumpet "chorus." The low end is mixed better, so maybe hearing contra bass more clearly is making it sound more jazzy?

@ exactly having lotus juice sing really brings the track up so much
I wouldn't say this is better or worse than the original, has its own vibe to it. Overall this OST is on par, and that's okay. For every Mass Destruction that's lacking we have the new Changing Of Seasons. Plus, there seems to be a way to change the OST for specific things with ease, as well as the original and Portable's accessible basically everywhere now in HQ.

@@ant6592 I wouldn’t go that far. I genuinely just think the frog sounds are way too loud in that version. It’s grown on me, especially once you hear the voices back to back then together. The frog noises meanwhile are in both versions, but are way louder in Reloads for some reason and it doesn’t work nearly as well. A disappointment for sure and it’s still lacking because of this, but nothing too major imo.

Am I the only that reeeeally loves this version?! It might even beat the original for me!
I can't BELIEVE so many people actually prefer the original tbh. I think likely it's just nostalgia. Don't get me wrong, the original is great and charming in it's own way, but it's scuffed AF. I like scuffy stuff but this new track is like, actually high quality, y'know? It's up to snuff this time, where the original's charm comes from how low quality it is; like your a college student and you asked your buddy to record the lyrics over lunch break and you put the song together in your garage. Or you're hearing someone play a banger song from the next room over.
P3R's version is like, actually a high quality piece.
Both are good, but this is just on a different level.

Really digging this remix. Was a bit worried after a couple choices on Mass Destruction but thankfully there wasn't any frog noises mixed higher than all the other sounds and Lotus is killing it with the level of smoothness.
