just a fact that there's a observation deck in the spire of a unicorn building, so technically you can climb in the spire once it open but the challenge is you have to climb 12 stories high in the spire to reach the observation deck

Malaysia truly Asia is when you really immerse outside of the city and venture more outside and get to know the locals. In the city there are many migrants workers and most of them doesn't speak english, which make communication difficult.
Hi, good that u guys came here, this temple, ppl do come but on major chinese n temple celebration festival fest will be busy.Enjoy the architecture n artisery of the building structure, most of the craft mans r from engage from China, coz few local are expert in the crafting
I am really digging Shelby's correct local pronunciation: Bukit Bintang, kuey teow.... ...and liking Chase's Barley Boba idea (just don't let Simu bite your head off!😋) Haha, as a tourist, I use KL's iconic towers as triangulation waypoints too. 20:02 "Malaysia is such a liveable country" - kudos Shelbs for articulating so well; IMHO, would be a great place for expats to bring up kids if they want exposure to cultural diversity. Truly Asia - (with the added bonus of lingua franca communication so that you can really feel like you're chatting with the locals instead of a language barrier). 😁Only mad dogs, Englishmen, and apparently Canadians.... make for 'grammable views. I hear ya on those bloody little monkey thugs with their Napoleon Complex(es)
Welcome back folks. BTW, you got confused with kek lok si temple in penang. Thean hou is not the largest temple in malaysia. It is not built in the 19th century.
You don't need to pour the pickled green chili into the soup; just use chopsticks to take a few and eat them together in a mouthful with the noodles. Of course, if you feel you need the soup to be a bit saltier haha but that may not be too healthy :) The broth is usually chicken bone/pork bone based and some even like anchovies. You guys are decent with chopsticks but the soup dumpling its not meant to use chopsticks purely as the skin is very slippery hahaha .... usually we will use the soup spoon as support with another hand or just puncture the dumpling with the chopsticks.
It's the changing of monsoon period right now. So west coast of malaysia including KL will hotter during the day, but evening might has downpour based on forecast. So , don't forget to bring small umbrella
The Little India in KL is nothing compare with the Little India in Klang Town, with shops in pre war buildings more authentic foods, vibes, etc ..if interested take KTM Komuter train from KL Sentral to Klang. Btw all major cities in Malaysia have their own Little India but the best is Klang's.
That bird on the roof of Thean Hou Temple is Phoenix and not peacock 😅 In Chinese folklore, the Phoenix & Dragon are in pair.. If there is Phoenix on one side, the other side would have a Dragon.
Sorry, info is wrong. Thean Hou temple was built in 1987 only 37 years old. It is also not the biggest temple in South East Asia. Kek Lok Si in Penang is the biggest in Malaysia.
U been to so many countries... If u two are to choose retirement destination... Where shall it be.. most expatriates choose Thailand or Indonesia I guess.. what's your view? 😅
@@ChaseandShelbs For your information, you must understand what is the difference between antenna and spire? An antenna is just functional - something with a technical purpose stuck on top of the building after it's finished. Spires are considered a continuation of the form of the building. Indeed the world’s current tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, officially stands 828 meters tall - but almost 250 metres of that is made up of an unusable spire. Some 29% of the building exists purely for height. But, the antenna of PNB 118 is usable (you can go inside the antenna) and have the highest observation deck than Burj khalifa
The unicorn that you referred to is actually the right hand of our beloved first prime minister Tuanku Abdul Rahman when he declared Malaysia independent in 1957,from Britain.

Hi, good that u guys came here, this temple, ppl do come but on major chinese n temple celebration festival fest will be busy.Enjoy the architecture n artisery of the building structure, most of the craft mans r from engage from China, coz few local are expert in the crafting
Welcome to Malaysia
I am really digging Shelby's correct local pronunciation: Bukit Bintang, kuey teow....
...and liking Chase's Barley Boba idea (just don't let Simu bite your head off!😋)
Haha, as a tourist, I use KL's iconic towers as triangulation waypoints too.
Hi, have you two also been to Johore ? It’s just across the immigration checkpoint from Singapore 🇸🇬
No we haven’t!
Welcome back folks. BTW, you got confused with kek lok si temple in penang. Thean hou is not the largest temple in malaysia. It is not built in the 19th century.
saloma bridge at night it's so beautiful view... if u never been to saloma bridge u guys should go...
You don't need to pour the pickled green chili into the soup; just use chopsticks to take a few and eat them together in a mouthful with the noodles.
Of course, if you feel you need the soup to be a bit saltier haha but that may not be too healthy :)
The broth is usually chicken bone/pork bone based and some even like anchovies.
You guys are decent with chopsticks but the soup dumpling its not meant to use chopsticks purely as the skin is very slippery hahaha .... usually we will use the soup spoon as support with another hand or just puncture the dumpling with the chopsticks.
I missed Penang Mal. They have a authentic Penang food it's Laksa ayum. It's so yummy! Cheers guys.
Penang food is so delicious. So many smells and flavours that city has. Stay tuned 😋
It's the changing of monsoon period right now. So west coast of malaysia including KL will hotter during the day, but evening might has downpour based on forecast. So , don't forget to bring small umbrella
The spire on d top of merdeka 118 will have an attraction called spire climb so its not there with no purpose
Plan a 2 days 1 night trip to Genting Highlands guys. Go enjoy the night vibe and energy at the entertainment centre at the peak!😊
We had it booked but actually decided not to go this time. We needed to slow down our travel plans. But 100% we will when we go back to Malaysia!
As long u r happy 😁 vacationing in 🇲🇾, we welcome u here 🤗😁 . Enjoy. Don't do drugs 💊 💉. Dangerous 😢.

The Up coming Marvel thunderbolt movie actually take place inside the unicorn (merdeka 118 tower)😊
Cool
Oh wow how cool! We didn’t know that
The Little India in KL is nothing compare with the Little India in Klang Town, with shops in pre war buildings more authentic foods, vibes, etc ..if interested take KTM Komuter train from KL Sentral to Klang. Btw all major cities in Malaysia have their own Little India but the best is Klang's.
13:06 actually Lard is the main key
U know what we love New York ( statue of Liberty ) some kind of Christmas tree.and London ! 😂😂😂
Haha
欢迎来马来西亚❤😊
Thank you ❤️
You guys should go to Borneo - Kota Kinabalu
That bird on the roof of Thean Hou Temple is Phoenix and not peacock 😅 In Chinese folklore, the Phoenix & Dragon are in pair.. If there is Phoenix on one side, the other side would have a Dragon.
😅very spicy,amazing .
They call it spire
Welcome back to KL 💛💚❤️
Sorry, info is wrong. Thean Hou temple was built in 1987 only 37 years old. It is also not the biggest temple in South East Asia. Kek Lok Si in Penang is the biggest in Malaysia.
Thanks for clearing that up!🙏🏼
There’s a famous claypot biryani rice at brickfields that is worth trying
We actually heard about that!
Pls come over to east Malaysiaaa
Hi.welcome you back to kl
Thank you!!
PNB118 will be in casting for Marvel Thunderbolts..LOL
Wait until they open the ‘unicorn’ part to the public soon😆
Looks like u both are so good using the chopsticks probably better than some ( Chinese ) Malaysian themselves 😅😅
Haha we do our best! We’ve learned pretty well since travelling Asia.
U been to so many countries... If u two are to choose retirement destination... Where shall it be.. most expatriates choose Thailand or Indonesia I guess.. what's your view? 😅
come to Putrajaya and Shah Alam
Don't forget Burj khalifa with almost 250 high antenna but people never complain about it. LOL 🤣
It’s the small point and antennas… 😂 cheeky
@@ChaseandShelbs For your information, you must understand what is the difference between antenna and spire?
An antenna is just functional - something with a technical purpose stuck on top of the building after it's finished. Spires are considered a continuation of the form of the building.
Indeed the world’s current tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, officially stands 828 meters tall - but almost 250 metres of that is made up of an unusable spire. Some 29% of the building exists purely for height. But, the antenna of PNB 118 is usable (you can go inside the antenna) and have the highest observation deck than Burj khalifa
did u guys see the second tallest twoer in the world
The unicorn on PNB 118 is cheating.😅. I agree with you.
How about Burj khalifa with almost 250 meters high antenna?
Correction:
The train early in the video is LRT Kerala Jaya Line. Most of the MRT around Kuala Lumpur city area are underground
"Fen Ho" temple... "Tian Ho" temple is not the biggest, you should pay a visit to Kek Lok Si Temple in Penang Island, it is many times bigger actually
Hi guys
Is that Kate Middleton on the video?
❤❤❤
The unicorn that you referred to is actually the right hand of our beloved first prime minister Tuanku Abdul Rahman when he declared Malaysia independent in 1957,from Britain.
Thank you for sharing that Information. 🙏🏼 it’s a remarkable building and holds great honour.
👍👏👏👏👏👏
Good 👍
I call it the walkie talkie building
Yesss hahah
I hope your next destination is Bangladesh🥰🇧🇩
In the future for sure at some point 🙏🏼
@ChaseandShelbs of course🥰🇧🇩
Unicorn building 😂
Not a peacock; it is phoenix.
Shelby is that your uncle ?
do you know spire in burj khalifa is more than merddeka118 which is 200m so theyre also cheating :D
I've been to chow kit seems like there are a lot more rich chinese who hired foreign workers
penang island
Burj Khalifa > Burj=Tower in Arabic. Khalifa= Sheikh Khalifa, former president of UAE and ruler of Abu Dhabi.
U love malaysia then u dont love singapore then😢 🇸🇬
They can love both😊
We love both!
