- Magnus Carlsen's reign is ENDING!! Its just a question of when! This fantastic game, featuring an unbelievable tactical finish, is a not so gentle reminder that there are looming threats lurking in what may be the twilight of Carlsen's chess dominance! Enjoy!
I heard this same talk for so many of Magnus’s contemporaries. I’ll believe it when I see it.
It is happening
Just imagine how high Bobby Fischer's rating would've been if he would've had chess engines to help him analyze games.
Just imagine where Magnus will be when he can train with super-intelligent AI that's light-years ahead of current chess engines at chess strength and magnitudes better at educating humans than current generation AI (large language models), while, at the same time, finding cures for every disease known, and unknown, to man!
But, yeah, no doubt, Fischer - already a BEAST (at chess) in his own right - would have been a real problem for chess players today, given the same tools and chess knowledge to work from. I sure would love to see a tournament between Carlsen, Kasparov and Fischer when playing at their respective peaks, but each having the same tools and prep available to them as modern chess players.
Fischer at his peak had the top ELO, with a gap of ~150 to the rest of the chess world at that time. This is the metric to compare players of different eras. How did they stand among contemporary rivals.
The engines got so good by analyzing him.
@@necrocleric13 Chess was too easy, so he became antisemite for a better challenge.
Magnus rated Fischer 7/10 on the genius scale, guess who will have a long career by doing as if the elephant in the room wasnt there at all and doing as if playing games is the real deal?
Murphy said it: "Being good at chess is the sign of a gentleman, being genius is the sign of a wasted life / talent".
@@alangrund5031 Nope
Thanks so much I find your game analysis so valuable
Thank you!
You can't call "mere 50 points" when it's from 2783 up.
World class analysis on a world class game. How that kid worked out Q - B6 in a rapid game is bordering on SUPERHUMAN.
Not a big separation in rating points, but those 50 points are hard to acquire
Very true!
@@squareonechess6939 all the same, he has already covered almost 50% of the gap as of today. He achieved an in-game rating of 2805 on eighth November 2024.
It's like climbing a cactus.
@@Corndadthepop purrrrrcisely!
It's like end of magnus's era
Arjun is now only 22 points back of Magnus in the classical ratings
Your voice and presentation is very good. Gukesh may become World Champ one day.
Thank you! The next 10 years will be very interesting!
Very detailed explanation.
Good deal man.underrated channel
I appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed!
Gukesh is a monster when he gets tactical chances.
Becoming more of a fan with each passing day!
You are right, I cant imagine what if Srinivasa ramanujan ( the greatest Mathematician) would have played chess. This kid is also from my neighbouring state Tamilnadu.
7:54 shocking how far opening theory goes these days.
Yeah, I can see why Bobby Fischer invented Fischer Random!
@@squareonechess6939 as a guy who despises putting in time to learn opening theory, I'm so grateful to Bobby Fischer for this contribution of his to the chess world. I just wish more people would see it the same way as he did then, and I do now (classical chess becoming "stale," due to so much memorization of opening theory coming into play), because it's common on the platform that I play chess on (lichess) for the game queues to literally be empty, even at times when there are tens of thousands of classical chess games being played. It's so frustrating.
I like your vlogs. Please continue to make more especially for the incoming good players. Thank you
I will, thank you!
Never underestimate Magnus! He is extremely capable of growing with challenges, no matter his (not at all too old) age! But the challengers are definitely fun to watch meanwhile...
Yeah I think it could go either way -- he could be fading out -- OR could very possibly break 2900 someday!
They won't be overtaking Magnus, unless he retires
@@KeithDonovan-cd3eothis is the perfect comment
His name is Gukesh and surname is Dommaraju. So, his full name is Gukesh Dommaraju. For some reason, people say it backwards.
That is how it is in India. Last name comes as initials.
This aged well
Guess what, Magnus has won his 10th successive tournaments in 2024 😂😂😂
Mere 50 points away? That is huge
True, but when you consider his age, he should be able to get there
Yep his creeping closer
I'm beginning to like your channel. You explain very well a lot of good points about the moves. I don't think Magnus will ever be replaced. Yes someone will eventually pass his rating and beat him. But I think no-one currently in-line will surpass him as the GOAT. Maybe someone who hasn't been born yet will though.
Tactical entertainment.
Mukesh is indeed brilliant 🎉
How on earth do these guys calculate this stuff
I wish I knew!
lol, I'm sure this was a random online game, pretty sure no chess record was smashed here
Welldon gukesh
Bro
Fun stuff like thaaaat.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lovely analysis, thanks.
I liked before watching. Call me biased.
Yes. Gukesh is champion
Eh... Only way they overtake Magnus is if he retires from Chess.
He is the GOAT !
And will stay nr.1 for longer than people might think... Because he just understands the optimal placement of the pieces better than anyone and also his endgame skills are insane.
Only real threat is himself... It must be hard to keep motivating himself
Be realistic 😂
16 year old with a 50 year mature beard? damn Also, there is really no one at his level. Yes his human and does loose time to time. He will be the greatest for serveral more years.
And yep younger minds think faster , trust me Iam old 🤣
DESTROYS !!!!!!
18 years old? The man is 40
Clean the wax or of your ears.
Who is 40
Carlsen just needs to step out of opening theory asap in every game. It's hard to play against the progs...
progs?
@@newt2120 yes, they be repeating computer moves for a while there genius
Love your break down but lose the silly 'if he had two moves' fill in. Waste of time
I really don’t like this type of videos
Like it or not? why should the paradigm favour a "Carlsen". Chess is an Indian game from inception. Some Europeans took it and maniacally studied it. It is right its coming Home.
Install toilets first.
Some like it, some don't. I don't have a strong opinion either way.
@@brunobertrand9805 Someones excited about installing things after installing their cuck chair in their bedroom. Good for you. bud. I'm sure the Mrs. appreciates it.
