    Hi CARLOS,
I would like to share how ‘toxic/extreme patriotism’ (chauvinistic type of patriotism) started among part Indonesians. It was started from first Indonesian president (Sukarno) who have big ‘dream’ to combine few countries in southeast asia under his power using ‘guided democracy’ (forceful ‘democracy’). He started his ‘ganyang Malaysia’ (crushed malaysia) campaign to boycott Malaysia. Sukarno launched this extreme campaign because he disagreed with Malaysia ways to claim back power to rule their own country (from Great Britain). Malaysia just want to govern their country without any control from Great Britain. Thus, Malaysia choose professional ways which are doing negotiations with Great Britain to claim power to avoid many lives killed again like past tragedy when British governors were sent to every states & they over-ruled sultans/kings position that time. That toxic ‘nationalism’ campaign (ganyang malaysia) shaped extreme ultra-patriotism values/personality/traits among some of Indonesians today.

About the MRT token, actually you can directly select Putrajaya Sentral station when you buy the tokens at the machine, it will automatically calculate which line you switch to and how much will the fare cost, you don't need to buy seperately, because all the lines are operated under the same company.
Also, it's more convenient if you buy a Touch n Go card at the station, you just need to top up the card with enough money and you can use it at EVERY train line in Kuala Lumpur.

According to Khoo Kay Kim, Malaysian historian, Malaysia was not colonized by the British. The British established themselves in Malaya only to mine and run rubber plantations which were all paid taxes to the Malay Kings. Japan also did not colonize Malaya because the institutions and functions of the Malay Monarchs were still maintained. The enemy of Malaya at that time was the communists who would abolish the monarchy system if they succeeded in conquering Malaya. The idea of a Malayan Union was sparked by the British when there was a problem with tax payments. The British were asked to withdraw from Malaya instead of Malaya demanding independence. Similar to Singapore. Singapore celebrated its independence as if it was independent from Malaysia, whereas Singapore was released in 1965. The idea of independence just merely a political stunt to gain trust from the people. In contrast to Indonesia, which was indeed colonized by the Dutch under the Dutch East India Company, these islands where there are no Indians are called the Indian Islands. The currency is still Rupiah and their flag was modified from the dutch flag. Malaysia and Thailand have never been colonized because of the Monarch government.

We can apply for a permit for it in Malaysia and it needs to be done in a controlled condition. Safety aspects have to be in place such as fire extinguishers and people have to stand from a safer distance.

I highly recommended you to visit Penang next. You can take a bus at Bandar Tasik Selatan (TBS bus interchange), about 4-hour bus ride. Plentiful of nice food to be tasted. Penang Laksa (rice noodles in sour spicy fish gravy), Char Kway Teow (Stir fried broad noodles using charcoal), Putu Mayam (a kind of pastry which has a tinge of coconut smell) Just hit MRT from any station, then you alight at TBS station. Bus ticket to Penang is approximately under USD 10 (RM 45) per pax. Have fun and cheers.

@WildCARLOSappeared If you are a foodie whom has Asian stomach and still in Malaysia, another good place to visit is Ipoh. Chicken Rice Set with super thick bean sprouts, White Coffee (that is not white in colour from naked eyes ha ha!) and silky bean curd in sugar syrup (dessert) are a couple of delicacies on the list! If asked the local Chinese there for food recommendation, I think they will eagerly show you the best place to dig in. See ya!

The extreme and unexpected fireworks is actually part of Hungry Ghosts Festival, its a celebration by Malaysian Chinese in the 7th month of the lunar calendar. Coincidentally, 31st August 2023 is the day where we send the King of Hades back to hell, hence the celebration. You can see the offerings in front of the shop.
