I feel you man, I became a machinist so I can learn to do things like this, almost 6 years in, I got a Bridgeport mill as a gift and I still don’t even have a garage to set it up. But be patient man, it’s about the little steps. I had no skills with my hands other than turning a screw 5 years ago and now I make parts for airplanes. I’ve come a long way yet I still feel far from my goal. But you’re off to a great start tho, watching these videos are actually extremely helpful.

Any worries the frame lock will kick out if there's any pressure against the spine of the knife with the angle in both the knife and frame lock? Seems with it being angled like that it'd help it kick out if you get what I mean?
Thanks for the comment. It needs to be angeled, otherwise the lock would make a pointcontact and you'll get lockstick. It is not pished out, even if you hammer on the blade (I tried) ;)

Some dishwashing soap in your container helps to catch the grinding dust so there's nothing floating on top of the water

Question from a novice maker, but why didnt you cut your bevels before heat treating?
to prevent warping during the quench. Otherwise it might happen, that the bladetip is not perfectlty centered between the liners
