Namita was my favourite in d starting. But she always plays safe.. 😢 now My favs are Ashneer for his amazing business skills n evaluation, Piyush (after watching jugaadu Kamlesh wala episode) n also Anupam for being humble n intelligent always❤

Yeah! Namita is attractive in the way she presents herself and talks but she doesn't add value to the show in terms of business skills.
. I like Vineeta much more as a person. Nobody talks about her because she's normal. Same goes with Piyush. Yahan par Masti aur meme Wale log hi zada famous hote hain.

Even I was tired of hearing I am out from Namita but I found out now that Namita is one of the first sharks to get an exit after she invested in Rare Planet. She got exit this year.. After get 3.5 times the revenue.
And this is a huge deal especially for investors.. Getting an exit.. So I guess she is quite smart.

I personally thought that the pitch was too technical for all the sharks to follow, maybe they should have given the pitch on a layman's level. The sharks have very little idea about how challenging NLP is and context-based parsing and restructuring sentences is a very big deal in a country like India which has 22 official languages. Google is definitely a giant to compete with, but with the right efforts, they can actually take the beast.
See, I do agree to some degree
But there a huge difference, the MAIN and the Most important factor for any AI or machine learning based model is DATA.... No other company other than Google has as much data, even if this company gets 1 lakh freelancers, it would just be a fraction of the data Google has...
It is next to impossible to compete against Google in that sense
That is the main reason why sharks deemed it as a "services" buisness...
The whole eco system of services they were providing AROUND the translation was the main selling point

@@TechSpyYt Google translations are not aligned with the right context, so at times verbatim translations from English to other language do not yield right results if they are not in the standard SVO format which English adheres to. Besides, most businesses have dedicated translators and other people who they hire for exorbitant prices, so businesses would definitely pour in cash for such a business.

I think Sharks didn't understand the business. They are calling it Human Depending and Service based. But they made a product which is ML, NLP, DL based and requires gold standards dataset from its 5000 employees to train the models.
The guys did good job by not taking the offer as they would have not received any help.

@@anonymoustud520 if you can't understand the vision of the company then its ur problem. Its not about B2C. The main business is all about B2B. Company give translation service to corporates. Like a company hired a person who can give chat services in Hindi but when a new customer comes who is not familiar with hindi but he knows gujarati/marathi then the hired person will be able to serve them with the use of translator. As google's translator is not accurate. Sometimes google's translator do "Arth ka Anarth". That's why this company founder developed this company.

And I feel most businesses are english speaking or hindi speaking in India... like businesses might feel learning these 2 languages is more profitable than outsourcing a translator, dont you think?

I think, they did good by not taking Namita's offer, because I think she would have used their IP, and at the same time earned interest on her investment... She could have been customer to them, but chose not to do business with them .. which only indicates, that she was behind the IP.

I actually like their decision, because I feel our Sharks are a bit tender to grasp the mechanism related to translation aspects, so it will be a little difficult to let them understand the distinction between a language and a dialect as well as the terminologies i.e. translation, transliteration, transcription, etc., but I appreciate their curiosity!

Anupam unknowingly just gave them a brilliant product idea. Take Piyush's specs and translate on the fly for the reader. But he missed a point that they have already beaten it with a single machine model able to translate for all.

These guys are using people to translate content and not technology, as per their own admission at 10:00. They have 5k employees who are doing that. Respect @sharks for being so knowledgeable to identify this through their questions. And guys, using software jargon doesn’t make something genuine tech. If we really understand the current technology, we can figure out who’s fake and who’s genuine, like how sharks understood.
