The referee "X" sign isn't always real anymore. They figured out that a lot of people knew the secret so now they'll do it even when an injury is scripted just to fool us marks that heard the secret.
it's the same for me when I discovered the leg slap whenever they kick someone. The announcers can often be heard saying something like "We heard that devastating all the way over here!" except the foot against the body is not making the sound. It's the wrestler GIVING the kick who slaps their own thigh at just the right time.
When landing from a big fall "hardness" doesn't really matter, all that matters is how fast you decelerate and the G forces on your body. When all you have is the surface a softer one has some give so you don't slow down instantly. But otherwise landing on something hard on top of a cushion is as good if not better than just landing on the cushion (surface area of the hard thing uses more of the cushion/airbag) For a similar reason going through a table actually hurts less than a normal bump because you are slowed down twice half as much, you lose some speed going through the table and the rest when you hit the floor instead of losing it all hitting the floor.
Don't worry, I don't think you'll lose the dun of watching wrestling if you know all these secrets, personally for me I thought that way but it was kinda of fun looking for all these secrets kind of like a scavenger hunt. Also you don't even have to search for them because you'll forget as soon as the show starts and they start wrestling because it'll be a fun old time. Great video Bunny, big fan of yours, I love your videos.❤😁
Unfortunately I saw the Owen Hart PPV Live at my cousin's place. The good news was that WE weren't exposed to ANYTHING visual. All we saw was an edit and then Lawler and JR were being unusually serious about Owen having been injured. The fact that even Jerry Lawler (who was a long time hatred/rival of the Hart's) was also being uncharacteristically serious. He wasn't making any jokes or taking cheap shots, like he normally would. What I remember seeing at home was Owen's theme song starting and then a strange edit and then the announcement that he had been injured.
I could tell many more Wrestling secrets. But sometimes it's better that the fans didn't know every little secret of the Wrestling business. You'll watch every match from an completely different angle then. And that takes so much of being such a fan. And if you don't have already you should definitely watch or maybe react to this 2 very nice documentaries: - Beyond the mat - Wrestling with shadows
@@Bunnymon For example - in Inferno matches they have used special burn material like stuntmen do. So they can burn just a little part of the gear and not all. When you look closely Sometimes you could see which part of the gear looked a little different than usual and that spoilers the match winner. - in small independent wrestling companies you often meet new wrestlers and booker and crew members. So backstage before the show make sure to meet every member you can to give a handshake and introduce yourself. Otherwise you could get bad backstage heat. - when a wrestler lays on the floor and the standing wrestler pushes his arm away his foot that means the laying wrestler should roll away when next move comes. Most likely an elbow drop. Rocks people elbow was an exception to that. - Also in small independent shows: after your match you could go out in the arena and maybe sit down in the crowd and watch the rest of the show if you want. But only as a babyface. As a heel never go out and meet fans when the show is still running. - there are 2 types of wrestlers handling their matches: most wrestler only discuss some special spots of their match and rest of it is called in ring. Some other wrestlers will script every single part of their match backstage and completely plan their hole match before going out. Especially Owen hart and Macho man randy savage were known for that method. And randy was going furious if the other wrestler doesn't stay to the script or maybe forgot something of it. Just to name some secrets. I don't know all the secrets and backstage rules myself cause I wasn't active long enough. And most of it got lost in mind in the years :)
Yeah when I went to a Smackdown or Raw show I remember seeing the camera men move around thats not really a secert. I also saw one inside the ring an on the ring apron. Also the wrestlers not fighting during commerical break reminds of the old WWE video games where you can go inside the performance center ring and sometimes stop fighting just messing around with the taunts.
I'm assuming the padding underneath the table is an air bag of some kind. They say that it actually starts to deflate after Shane lands on it. A "sponge" or any kind of memory foam would not deflate.
If anyone tells you to watch Sid Vicious (or psycho Sid) jump off the ropes, don't do it, his leg snaps on live tv... Probably the worst injury to see that is Still available.
4:23 Most likely, that rattlesnake had its venom glands removed so that if it were to strike at anyone, no one would die. Fun fact on that: silicon is used to fill in where the venom glands were taken out in order to prevent them from growing back.
@@briwanderz Yep. Pretty sure she did. It amazes me how many wrestlers could pull through a match, injured. Unless it's an injury like Cora Jade's or Shotzi's. I doubt it's always that obvious someone is injured. Those two injuries were pretty bad. Cora Jade couldn't even function, correctly to work the match.
Yah it doesn’t come across as believable anymore but I think it makes you appreciate it more knowing how much goes into these shows and how many people are involved into making these shows
About tables breaking up and things, sometimes they use a saw to pre-cut it, and when the wrestler fall on the table, only wood as thick as a sheet of paper remains, so it breaks into pieces and look painful, but in reality it's not. WWE is like cinema, they have their own rules for special effects that we are not aware of. I heard this table story and other secrets by another retired wrestler, so he could talk also. I remember him also talking about chops on the chest: there is one spot that you can hit very hard, but it never hurts--skin turns red and it makes a lot of noise, so the result is impressive, but doesn't hurt anyone. The most crazy moves are done by teamwork. Both wrestlers, refs and cameramen work together to hide certain things. Same when Hogan bodyslammed Andre the Giant. Andre helped him by using the ropes, with the cameraman placed just in the right position, no one could see Andre grabbing the ropes to help Hogan lift him...and so on for every move.
Roman can’t bleed for real due to his medical condition. He uses fake blood instead as a substitute. It looks good though. He still fears leukemia returning hence why.
I feel like sometimes though, the spectacle is ALL we need; right?? I mean do we ALL really need to KNOW how Criss Angel flies from one roof to another?? Do we REALLY need to know how he walks on water in a pool while people swim under him?? Dude has some REAL talent and even other very great magicians acknowledge that Criss angel is very good. Speaking of which...Bunny, why not try to react to some episodes of Mind Freak?? Not sure if it is something you'd like, but why not try and see if you do?? He has several seasons so there are many episodes to choose from.
7:03 Is... that music from the video game series No More Heroes? EDIT: Found it! It's the theme that plays in the Travis Strikes Again spinoff when you're going to select a Death Drive game. Goddamn. That's a deep one. That was driving me insane for a moment.
In all honesty WWE sometimes, SOMETIMES, gets their best creative work when they aren't live. My personal favorite live (not really live) story is Alexa Bliss and her Lilly persona switching while in the middle of matches. Alexa would come out in her new Wyatt Playhouse attire and on occasion while getting beat up the lights would go out and then her top which was pink at first would now be black and she would stare at her opponents with dead emotionless eyes and she'd suddenly be OP. But the best moments of this was when she came out to fight Nikki Cross and then the lights go out and playground Alexa was now wearing her OLD Outfit from several years ago and she was acting scared and confused like she didn't know what was happening, then the lights go out again and she's back in her "playground" outfit and having fun wrestling with Nikki. All this was during Covid when most everything was shut down and the "crowd" was there virtually. the arena was filled with monitors around the ring and people could be seen watching the show as if they were on web cam. At home we could see the people from their cam pov but the arena itself was empty. This was by far the best story that WWE ever gave Alexa Bliss and they went and ruined it by having her "go to therapy" which they showed on Raw every week or so. From that point on every time the lights went out and Alexa was about to "transform" into Lilly ALL the other women would just gang up on her and take her out. Her character eventually just faded away and now she's taking time off to be a mom; but DOES plan on returning at some point. Still WWE doesn't really have anything creative for her yet.
Should react to Mavens interviews with D von and Undertaker. He covered the Mass Transit incident with D von and the first hell in the cell with Taker.
BTW all these are done not just for timing and subtly delivers a message, but also to prevent injury. The person taking a move NEEDS to know the move is happening or it could go REALLY wrong for one of the two or both.
Awee Bunnymon you don't have an AC huh? I feel for you, fans work though lol my room is the hottest in the house so the vent for the AC is useless so I have to have 2 fans besides lol.
There is a way to know whether or not someone will kick out of a pin or not. I won't say what exactly, because it does ruin the excitement if you know, but you can look for it yourself during matches...
This is why i DON'T recommend these type of videos, don't become a smark. Informe yourself about "the lore" and maybe some real life bios but avoid these "secret" videos, don't kill the magic for yourself.
Being discreet in pro wrestling isn't really a thing anymore. That's called Kayfabe. It died out so long ago. Anyhow, these wresrlers have personal lifes. Don't need wrestlers fighting in random bars anymore, and getting in random brawls. Being so discreet is kind of corny. Finding out two wrestlers, were driving together when they're in a feud on tv. All while they got pulled over by police. 😂😂😂
"Was this a smart idea?" In fact, you're becoming a smark, a 'smart mark.' You love wrestling, you suspend your disbelief while watching it, but you also know how they do things behind the scenes. Welcome to smarkville, population all of us.
WHAT? No offense, but you're a grown a adult and you already know this is scripted like EVERYTHING else you watch. Just with the added nature of it being live. I think you're missing the BIGGEST component to the appeal of pro-wresting... THE WRESTLING being good lol. We know it's a show and these are characters, like everything else we watch. Can they put on a good story and match is what matters because that's really hard to do (more so now as talent seems to be leaving people in control of entertainment in general lol) even if everyone knows it's just an act. Wrestlemania 28's End of an Era match of Triple H vs. The Undertaker in a Hell in the Cell match with Shawn Michaels as special guest referee is one of the best fictional stories ever told.
The referee "X" sign isn't always real anymore. They figured out that a lot of people knew the secret so now they'll do it even when an injury is scripted just to fool us marks that heard the secret.
Yeah with them having the earpieces and doctors at ringside for most part they have new ways today. The “X” is more of red herring to sell things.
it's the same for me when I discovered the leg slap whenever they kick someone.
