Yeah, really nice to see. At the pre-release Comic-Con panel, she seemed kind of out of it, confused and clueless - maybe she was just having a bad day or feeling overwhelmed.
Yeah a little too much pride… she could’ve just told us how it’s said instead of being dramatic about it. It doesn’t seem like there’s much going on except emotion. I personally can’t wait for Snow to start. It’ll be like Game of Thrones is just continuing and never ended.

Forget the name, the casting is confusing.. The Velaryon's are Valyrian, which are pale skinned ppl with purple eyes.
This whole mess would've been avoided if she was queen!

Even if Viserys didn’t want to be king and wouldn’t have fought for his claim, it’s very likely Daemon WOULD and the story of Rhaenyra vs Aegon becomes Rhaenys vs Daemon.
@@MagicsJohnson I'm not certain if Daemon would have cared that much at that point, because Viserys did not want to be king that badly in the first place. Rhaenys would have not been as sentimental as Daemon and would have had him executed if he was a serious threat. The whole point of Rhaenys' character is to show how she was clearly more competent than Viserys but was passed over due to her gender.
It's a fictional story so there's really no need to get so upset about it lmao

We saw all the houses swear fealty to Rhaenyra and we know whats to come afterwards. How can you say you’re certain the other houses don’t end up supporting Daemon if he wanted the throne?
I really do think it’s drunk to think that the patriarchy wouldn’t rally behind a man, regardless of which woman sits on the iron throne. Why does Viserys not wanting the throne stop Daemon from thinking “then I’m the only male heir that wants the throne”? But you’re right, if Rhaenys got rid of both male Targaryens thus ending any possibilities of that happen, I’d be wrong. Not familiar with the books, so I wouldn’t know if that would be in her nature.

She was all kinds of awesome rip
Queen of our hearts, dare I say.
Her death in the book was better. The Princess and the Red Queen fought hard but were ambushed completely by Sunfyre and Vhagar. She was ripped to shreds.
Meleys landed a few blows but the two dragons ripped her wing from wing. Rhaenys was likely dead before her dragon fell from the sky in the nearly field.
She didn’t know she was going to die that day. She didn’t know she’d fight one dragon let alone be ambushed completely by 2, both set to kill her as fast as possible. Rhaenys was a smart woman and the Red Queen an experienced fighter. But no match for Vhagar and Sunfyre together. They really did rip them both to shreds.
I feel that was a better death for Rhaenys than what the show gave her. The show almost made her last move seem ignorant. Ignorant to where Vhagar might have been.
In reality, they fought in the near by field, Sunfyre fought much harder, and Rhaenys stood absolutely no chance at all.
Spoiler alert: Rhaenys is by far the greatest loss in Fire and Blood. I do not think any woman or man since the time of Aegon the Conqueror was quite as amazing as she was.

SHE IS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER ON THE SHOW & her death scene was shocking and sad and also beautiful. She went out strong and dignified like the character.
For me it was doubly tragic as not only was she my favorite character but Meleys very quickly grew to be my favorite dragon in the show as well.
She really embodies her character’s spirit. Great casting

I am just getting into this franchise and the character parallels between past and "present" are phenomenal. Because despite the parallels, each character still has their own complexities and essential development as individuals. I can't wait to read the books!

I love her character. Also she is stunning, her mannerism when she talks are breathtaking.
Props to Eve Best, she clearly cares about the character she's portraying and the story they're a part of, it just shows she went that bit further than the rest to try and understand and familiarise herself with the source material, it's unfortunately something that not many actors seem particularly bothered about these days.
Because not everyone has the time, and not everyone’s methods of doing a show or film is the same. Also you’re not casting actors for their source material knowledge intake, you’re casting them for performance, that’s the part they actually need to focus on. Writers and producers and other creatives are the ones who actually need to have knowledge.
@@CaptainPikeachu No I'm not saying it's required, it's definitely better tho, it let's the actor better understand the character they're portraying and the world they're in. If they genuinely care, they'd make time, it's like the equivalent of doing overtime in another job, if you're dedicated, you'll go out of your way to go above what's just required.
She’s another one who scowls in every scene. When Vis visited them and she had on her pants when she just finished riding. That was the jolliest I’d ever seen her and it was beautiful to see.

Why do people get it wrong? because grrm himself pronounces it wrong. General rule, pronounce it the way the creator does, but NOT with grrm (still can't get over dothrak-'I" instead of dothrak-'E'). You'd think since there's Valyrian (the empire), Velaryon (the family) and Valerion (one of the kids who died in infancy), grrm would be mindful to peg the pronunciation so that each word sounds distinct but nope!
i watched this reel and then I watched the scene in the ep and couldn't help but laugh imagining her whispering it under her breath every time they mispronounced it.
Them cutting out Rhaenys hugging Laenor is such a crime.

Velaryon is a terrible name and too closely resembles Valyrian.
On its own it's not terrible, but the fact that it's too close to 'Valyrian' is what makes it goofy and distracting
