Ige Adubi Ariyibi Adedibu. Continue to Rest In Peace Alaafin molete. Though l don’t support your political ideology. But your fearlessness and resiliency was second to none!
He had no ideology to speak of , God rest his soul . Ladoja’s crimes for instance were clear as day to him ; he was stingy with his loot , full stop . Our kind of politics remains a throw back to the old iron grip on power of our chieftains and elders .
The bottom line or lesson learnt is that no human being is irreplaceable and eternal. The history is already written . Let all those who are political juggernaut tread softly. Only God is eternal.
Basically it was not what people want but whatever he decided back then, sadly the same scenario is repeating itself up until now being played by Tinubu. That is why poor masses will continue to suffer because they have no say in what concerns them. He was a thug during the time of Awolowo and co in the first republic just as Oluomo to Tinubu now
That is how politics is being done then if you are a gentleman you wouldn't gain anything from government as a politician, but if you are confidence to speak to authority people will follow you and government will listen to you and follow your which.
Journalist asked = They said you are an illiterate, political grabber etc. This is almost 20 yrs ago and today is 11/06/22 I answered that he's most intelligent and literate than 65% of government officials in Nigeria in 2022.
Zaramoku "illiteracy" means the inability to read or write in any language not just in English. So, what does that have to do with grammatical inaccuracy? You need to hear how "educated" Americans and Britons speak?
Titoscudd : Are you suggesting that reading, speaking, and writing in any language have no correlation between them? Come on, a person who speaks a language poorly would hardly write proficiently in that language. In any case, the definition of literacy was not the point I was making, I was expressing my disappointment that an interviewer could make such 2nd grade grammatical mistakes as he made.
This is a shame. this interview just shows how barbaric our political system is/was. Imagine an obviously intelligent man talking about political issues like its his right to always be the center of attraction
@Jide Otunba, I agree entirely with your comment. I just stumbled on this video in March 2019! Looking at the recently conducted elections in Nigeria which was nothing but a sham. It is obvious that men like the late Alhaji Adedibu with his intelligence and confidence, contributed in no small measure to the dysfunctions and the mess in our political system! The institutionalization of thuggery, violence and killings were his hallmarks. Prior to watching this video, I had always considered him to be nothing but an illiterate thug! As much as I was impressed with his responses and articulation, I was saddened that if only he had used his influence as a political heavy weight or "political kingpin", to ensure that those voted into the highest office of governor of Oyo State fulfilled their mandate to develop the state and improve or elevate the living standards of the impoverished masses of Oyo State, then he would have really left a positive legacy! But this old rascal in this interview was proud and not ashamed at all to admit living off the state by being on the payroll of the office of the governor, and expected to be settled always by any incumbent Governor. As a governor, you became his enemy if you refused to honor his demands for money gratification whenever he maked a demand! In Nigeria, people do not go into politics to serve and improve the standard of living of their people, but to serve themselves. Our understanding of governance is so warped and twisted. Occultic men and women who have mortgaged their souls to the devil are the people holding political 8offices and positions in Nigeria. This man Adedibu, and the likes of Busari Adelakun were the forerunners of the sort of violent politics still in existence in Nigeria, with the use of thugs and hired killers on the political landscape of Nigeria. Tinubu, Oshiomole, Okorocha etc are following the footsteps of a man like Adedibu.Despite the endowment by God in terms of both human and natural resources on Nigeria, the country has been reduced to a state of comatose and utter degradation by the inept and corrupt poltical leadership. I left Nigeria for the US in 2008, a year after this video was made and the country is still a mess. Rwanda and Ethiopia both are landlocked countries have made tremendous strides in terms of infrastructural developments and progress in their countries. This two countries do not have one tenth of the resources of Nigeria the so called "giant of Africa". So sad and unfortunate.
olakunbi11 ... and he is not just speaking English. He speaks perfect English. It just goes to show the quality of the ‘old standard 6’ education they had then. RIP baba

We can't compare this baba with MC because it's very intelligent man

I answered that he's most intelligent and literate than 65% of government officials in Nigeria in 2022.
He is even more literate than you.... It's quite obvious from comment.
@@DeenLight1800 Of course yes. Including yourself because I can sense that you are a primary school dropout like me.
@@DeenLight1800 The difference is that, I can still perform educationally more than you and your siblings.
Olodo.
i just watched this in 2020, and i realized that the interviewer was Gbola Oba ....
Watching.. September 2024...fearless, articulate & bold Baba
No body know God more than Nigerian politicians.
They are a bunch of hypocrites, claiming its God, while running the state with a bunch of thugs, harrassing the common man. They are a shame!
😂😂😂😂
He was practically learnt , I see now , no wonder ,he was a political consultant.
This some says should be be turned to a music track hahaha. He said it three times for chorus and was smiling
This is a great interview. Thanks guys!
The legendry Amala politician!
He was a political General. Rest in peace Baba alanu.
A really strong man of Oyo state polities and Nigeria at large.
According to Amala politics:you can not become 2 term governor consecutively in oyo state.
Mr UK editor, alias "some says" !!!
+Akintayo Oyetunde Couldn't help but notice too.
Akintayo Oyetunde
I felt quite uncomfortable wt that as well...an editor indeed. Baba was even better if considered against his educational background
Terrible
RIp baba is an educated political initiator.
The booty he made😂😂😂
Even the British editor said ...blood is not sheld... oyinbo buruku wa lenu awon ara bi o.
Chief Adedobu, the political Kilimanjaro!
He blamed the government for not giving him money...money for what? Only 275 thousand...for doing nothing.
For being a godfather. That's what goes on just that he was plain to say so.
Ajimobi broke the jinx
The Ibadan Man.... Real Political Leader... Rest In Peace.
Very interesting interview, it should have been conducted in Yoruba!
Why? We aren't all Yoruba speakers.
Wicked leaders of yoruba land
baba it's a pity I met u are old but am very sure anyone close to baba will know the kind of human being he is.I cherish his political views.
"Some says"? Yet he had the temerity to ask Adedibu if he was an illiterate?
Zaramoku "illiteracy" means the inability to read or write in any language not just in English.

Baba Is my mentor

Sakiru Ganiyu: Great, he made his mark in Yoruba politics irrespective of what people think of him.
amala politics international
LIARS SAYS HE CANT SPEAK ENGLISH ..BUT HE SPEAKS MORE SOME...
He speaks good enough English....Not at all an illiterate
I laugh. The Baba said no second term for Gov in Oyo and he responded, that's how we are.
Though the Baba believed in chop I chop politics, he said 6 mths is enough for a gov to work talkless of 4 yrs nd he was correct.
This man is great
What makes him great ?
This is a shame. this interview just shows how barbaric our political system is/was. Imagine an obviously intelligent man talking about political issues like its his right to always be the center of attraction
Jide Otunba indeed ; but a fascinating insight into the political culture of his area of undisputed influence for so long .
