Actually the Bose qc series cost more and have better sound quality and prestige than the beats. Usually you can find the beats for a discounted price but even on Amazon bose usually sells new for msrp. That being said, I am an audiophile with external Dac and amplifier and I mess with tube amps too, so the only pair of cans I can recommend are my open back sennheiser 650, which technically speaking have been the best headphones known to mankind since 2004, yea they are better than the 50 thousand dollar Orpheus.
Who wouldn't be those things are supposed to be the best headphones on the planet, but I would never buy a pair I could think of a million other things to buy with a thousand dollars before headphones. But do what you do.

The funny thing is Bose don't sound very good either. They have great noise canceling technology, but that's it. They're the two most overpriced audio products you can buy. They both suck and they're both fashion accessories, but the Beats are more for rappers, teenagers, etc (people who fit their style and want to look cool) and Bose is more of a fashion statement for people who want to appear wealthy or classy, businessmen, wannabe hipsters (since "real" hipsters might actually be into music enough to realize they're both shitty headphones), and other people who fit their style and want to impress their friends. I'm someone who will pay more for headphones as the most expensive Beats, I just want a great sounding and high quality product for my money. Not an overpriced fashion accessory that makes me look like dumb. And yes, I actually own Beats and they're the worst headphones I own other than stock Apple headphones. If you DO want that bass-heavy sound that's good for rap and EDM/house music, etc, but also want headphones that are versatile enough for other types of music and are ten times higher quality than Beats, have even heavier bass but it's tight and clear and doesn't lack high end or mid-range, AND they look better than Beats, get V Moda's. Preferably the M100, but the Crossfade's are also great for a lot less. They're basically "cool looking" fashion headphones that are actually built well, sound good, and aren't overpriced or tacky looking. I'm not saying they're the best headphones out there, but they're a way better option than Beats if you do like the concept of Beats, just don't want shitty ripoff headphones.

Beats actually has pretty garbage sound quality. It ups the bass and washes out the rest of the sounds. There are much better bass amplifying headphones out there if that's what you're looking for. Some are around the same cost and some are actually much much cheaper. Do your research and you'll see that any sort of creditable source will agree that the Beats are nothing compared to other high end headphones. My own personal feelings is that the Hesh2 by SkullCandy have a better sound at $140 less than the beats. However I would not list myself as a creditable source. It's my personal opinion.
Brendan Tate Don't be a fanboy. These are facts and there are numbers to prove it. Just do your research. It's no secrete that beats are just a step above your $20 headphones but at a premium price. They amp up the bass and everything else suffers in the process and it's not even good bass. I work in a place that I get paid off commission (would make more off of beats) and I still typically talk people down from the $200 headphones if they are wanting quality. If they want the name, I sell them the beats, but if it's quality they want I have other options for them. So far everyone has agreed with my sales expertise after personal experience with both.
At the time this was made people probably hated this. Lots of little kids kept on talking about getting bullied 💀💀💀 (Kids... Adults don't really worried about getting bullied that much.) Now in 2020, this kind of stuff is SICK. Doing custom shit is amazing. And beats are honestly shit headphones. Still are. (Just bc apple bought them and they improved doesn't make them shit for the price.) So taking the look of beats and putting them on good headphones is both genius and honestly inspiring. This is exactly why I bought Sony MDR-1RBT's. Amazing sound quality and a great design. In my opinion, they sound better than the Bose and look better than the Beats. Much classier looking. Also the wireless function is really handy.
16 years ago I had a pair of Shenniser Planar headphones that were fn' fantastic. In had never heard bass like that before. It's like I was right in front of the bass amp. (I am not talking about volume here) The detail was sexual.

They both suck and they're both fashion accessories, but the Beats are more for rappers, teenagers, etc (people who fit their style and want to look cool) and Bose is more of a fashion statement for people who want to appear wealthy or classy, businessmen, wannabe hipsters (since "real" hipsters might actually be into music enough to realize they're both shitty headphones), and other people who fit their style and want to impress their friends.
I'm someone who will pay more for headphones as the most expensive Beats, I just want a great sounding and high quality product for my money. Not an overpriced fashion accessory that makes me look like dumb. And yes, I actually own Beats and they're the worst headphones I own other than stock Apple headphones. If you DO want that bass-heavy sound that's good for rap and EDM/house music, etc, but also want headphones that are versatile enough for other types of music and are ten times higher quality than Beats, have even heavier bass but it's tight and clear and doesn't lack high end or mid-range, AND they look better than Beats, get V Moda's. Preferably the M100, but the Crossfade's are also great for a lot less. They're basically "cool looking" fashion headphones that are actually built well, sound good, and aren't overpriced or tacky looking. I'm not saying they're the best headphones out there, but they're a way better option than Beats if you do like the concept of Beats, just don't want shitty ripoff headphones.

Beats actually has pretty garbage sound quality. It ups the bass and washes out the rest of the sounds. There are much better bass amplifying headphones out there if that's what you're looking for. Some are around the same cost and some are actually much much cheaper. Do your research and you'll see that any sort of creditable source will agree that the Beats are nothing compared to other high end headphones.
My own personal feelings is that the Hesh2 by SkullCandy have a better sound at $140 less than the beats. However I would not list myself as a creditable source. It's my personal opinion.

Brendan Tate Don't be a fanboy. These are facts and there are numbers to prove it. Just do your research. It's no secrete that beats are just a step above your $20 headphones but at a premium price. They amp up the bass and everything else suffers in the process and it's not even good bass.
I work in a place that I get paid off commission (would make more off of beats) and I still typically talk people down from the $200 headphones if they are wanting quality. If they want the name, I sell them the beats, but if it's quality they want I have other options for them. So far everyone has agreed with my sales expertise after personal experience with both.

This is exactly why I bought Sony MDR-1RBT's. Amazing sound quality and a great design. In my opinion, they sound better than the Bose and look better than the Beats. Much classier looking. Also the wireless function is really handy.

16 years ago I had a pair of Shenniser Planar headphones that were fn' fantastic. In had never heard bass like that before. It's like I was right in front of the bass amp. (I am not talking about volume here) The detail was sexual.
