Its not just famous people. You can find lots of ways to get free stuff. I took some photos of sunglasses and sent them to multiple other companies offering my photography and sure enough, I have loads of free sunglasses coming in now

I opted to go to India to film a series with JacksGap instead of racing at the kayak world championships and now I'm a RUclipsr, totally agree that you need to take risks to make progress! And yes, I was a medal contender at the world champs, still worth it!

Hey Casey, I'm pretty sure this will get lost to the tune of time and under several thousands of these comments BUT I started watching your VLOGS as a 19 year old back in 2016 and was living a completely different life in a completely different country. Things have changed considerably since I moved to a whole new place into a whole new problems and all I can do is painfully miss that time and watching your old videos have given me this sense of self that I am unable to explain. I have always loved your content and you continue to be one of my favourite artists of all time.

Thegoatt84 let me explain. Casey says that it always works out for him. That's because he is rich and famous and gets a lot of free stuff. unlike us it doesn't happen that we get free stuff when we break out stuff.
I ride a Jamie Lynn 155 board with Burton bindings and Van's boots at the moment. Had the board for over 10 years now, multiple bindings and boot changes but that damn board keeps going. Great company super high quality gear. Grats on the boards and cheers!

Casey, this is the first video of yours that I watched and I remember it being so amazing and I was hooked from the start. I know you have a lot of just annoying fans but I wanna thank you for all you do and this one video lifted my spirits at a point in my life where I thought I was hopeless, this video inspired me to say the least to get out of my situation and finally do what I feel I need to do and without this video and all your daily vlogs I don't think I would be as happy and as ambitious as I am now and for that I am forever grateful. THANK YOU sooo much for all you do and keep doing what your doing.
The last little monologue really resonated with me, I'm currently 2 years in to starting my own clothing store and I've maxed everything and went in with both feet to make this thing work. Because I'm scared of failing in the knowledge that I could have done more. I really hope it works out, but if it doesn't I can at least walk away with no regrets.

Worked a few jobs until I got myself straight and went back to college to study for my graphic design bachelors. I completed bachelors last of month, don’t have the results yet but I’m predicted to get a first class. I’m the graphic designer for a steel forging company at the moment to get my first job done and will be on to bigger money in about 12 months. Thank you for asking, I rarely reflect on losing the business, it was horrible, but nowhere near as bad as my mind made it out to be. Towards the end I was waking up and having panic attacks/vomiting from stress etc, so I can safely say that I am in a better place as I sit here writing this now. My credit is better now than it was before the bankruptcy even. It’s all peaks and troughs I guess.

More context to this post I went to a 4 year college after 2 years at a community college in the US. Big mistake here. I didn't think of what I really wanted in Life I just did. From the first day I transferred I hated it so I fell into bad depression. I never had or followed a passion I had in my life. I just wanted to please my Dad that never said he loved me or was proud of me. To be honest I didn't believe in myself. it was tough. I am a foreign student in the states. I left my country after my final year of high school. So in college I had no social network of friends or contacts to rely on. I just had two things God and RUclips videos. Both of which saved my life. The more I watched RUclips videos. The more I was inspired to make videos. I got so interested in the filmmaking process. Combined with my childhood interest of how things work. I started making tech based videos. So I spent all the money I saved on Camera and PC equipment. Now I have 500 subscribers after 1 year on RUclips. Now I plan to expand once again by buying a better Camera to improve my filmmaking quality. it's not all roses though. There's still doubts I got frustrated today. I started doubting myself again. I was questioning whether I should even bother buying a new Camera. But after Casey 's advice of there being good excuses not to do things. I feel more confident in my choices. So thank you Casey. People like you are the needed light in this troubled world.

I believe Casey has said that the timelapses are there to state where and at what time the vlog is happening, so if he's shooting in nyc and a timelapse from Slovakia or something shows up it wouldn't make any sense
Damn. I started watching videos of Casey like roughly a few days ago, he's now one of my favorite youtubers(if not the favorite). I love everything from the connection that he creates with the viewer to the vibe of the videos like the chill music and the cool ass workshop. So damn, keep on keeping on Casey.
Destroying a snowboard to surf the streets of New York is totally worth. What you can't do is pass the impression that everybody is going to receive free gadgets on their mail every time they destroy and old one on camera. For some people, a snowboard can be a monthly salary. A DJI drone that Casey destroys or gives away in a weekly basis costs 4 to 5 minimum wages in my country. It's one thing to take risks; burning money like there's no tomorrow is a whole thing.
I think that his message is simple: if you really believe in something do whatever you can to make it happen, even take all the risks...but in everyday life you shouldn't be reckless...take big risks only you really believe... About the snowboard: considering what he earns,he took just a little risk using it in NYC...but he took that little risk because he knew it would be worth it...

The point of the story was not the fact that the snowboard was replaced. The point is that if you have an opportunity to experience something great (snowboarding in a blizzard for example) then the inputs to that experience (the snowboard) are less significant. Therefore, you snowboard in the blizzard, knowing that your boars will probably get fucked up. The fact that it got replaced had no sway on Casey's decision to do what he did, it was just a coincidence.

oh my fucking god people just don't get what he's saying at all. people are assuming he has this attitude because he's rich and famous and gets stuff sent to him when he breaks it. I recently left my job and started painting, my funds are supposed to last until the end of next month and today I was thinking of quiting, because I have no idea how I would survive after that. Couple places said they are not interested in this kind of work. But then I saw this video, and I started thinking - I found one place that will exhibit my stuff, and I have another request pending, so maybe everything is not that bad, maybe it still going to turn the right way and I shouldn't give up. Casey, this is the first video of yours that I watched and I remember it being so amazing and I was hooked from the start. I know you have a lot of just annoying fans but I wanna thank you for all you do and this one video lifted my spirits at a point in my life where I thought I was hopeless, this video inspired me to say the least to get out of my situation and finally do what I feel I need to do and without this video and all your daily vlogs I don't think I would be as happy and as ambitious as I am now and for that I am forever grateful. THANK YOU sooo much for all you do and keep doing what your doing.
The last little monologue really resonated with me, I'm currently 2 years in to starting my own clothing store and I've maxed everything and went in with both feet to make this thing work. Because I'm scared of failing in the knowledge that I could have done more. I really hope it works out, but if it doesn't I can at least walk away with no regrets.

@@helixarim371 I went bankrupt in 2017 and lost everything under the weight of business rates rises (uk tax on business per sq ft and location of unit) 5 years of work and 10’s of thousands in personal investment gone. Worked a few jobs until I got myself straight and went back to college to study for my graphic design bachelors. I completed bachelors last of month, don’t have the results yet but I’m predicted to get a first class. I’m the graphic designer for a steel forging company at the moment to get my first job done and will be on to bigger money in about 12 months. Thank you for asking, I rarely reflect on losing the business, it was horrible, but nowhere near as bad as my mind made it out to be. Towards the end I was waking up and having panic attacks/vomiting from stress etc, so I can safely say that I am in a better place as I sit here writing this now. My credit is better now than it was before the bankruptcy even. It’s all peaks and troughs I guess.

I went to a 4 year college after 2 years at a community college in the US. Big mistake here. I didn't think of what I really wanted in Life I just did. From the first day I transferred I hated it so I fell into bad depression. I never had or followed a passion I had in my life. I just wanted to please my Dad that never said he loved me or was proud of me.
To be honest I didn't believe in myself. it was tough. I am a foreign student in the states. I left my country after my final year of high school. So in college I had no social network of friends or contacts to rely on. I just had two things God and RUclips videos. Both of which saved my life. The more I watched RUclips videos. The more I was inspired to make videos. I got so interested in the filmmaking process. Combined with my childhood interest of how things work. I started making tech based videos. So I spent all the money I saved on Camera and PC equipment.
Now I have 500 subscribers after 1 year on RUclips.
Now I plan to expand once again by buying a better Camera to improve my filmmaking quality.
it's not all roses though. There's still doubts I got frustrated today. I started doubting myself again. I was questioning whether I should even bother buying a new Camera. But after Casey 's advice of there being good excuses not to do things. I feel more confident in my choices.
So thank you Casey. People like you are the needed light in this troubled world.

Destroying a snowboard to surf the streets of New York is totally worth. What you can't do is pass the impression that everybody is going to receive free gadgets on their mail every time they destroy and old one on camera. For some people, a snowboard can be a monthly salary. A DJI drone that Casey destroys or gives away in a weekly basis costs 4 to 5 minimum wages in my country. It's one thing to take risks; burning money like there's no tomorrow is a whole thing.
It's his money, he's successful let him be.
I think that his message is simple: if you really believe in something do whatever you can to make it happen, even take all the risks...but in everyday life you shouldn't be reckless...take big risks only you really believe...
About the snowboard: considering what he earns,he took just a little risk using it in NYC...but he took that little risk because he knew it would be worth it...
Douglas De Rizzo Meneghetti you make good points but remember, anything Casey does that makes it onto the blog makes him money. So his valuation of stuff is influenced by that. People shouldn't be trying to imitate what he does unless your circumstances are similar. Otherwise you're going to have a bad time.

The point of the story was not the fact that the snowboard was replaced. The point is that if you have an opportunity to experience something great (snowboarding in a blizzard for example) then the inputs to that experience (the snowboard) are less significant. Therefore, you snowboard in the blizzard, knowing that your boars will probably get fucked up. The fact that it got replaced had no sway on Casey's decision to do what he did, it was just a coincidence.

oh my fucking god people just don't get what he's saying at all. people are assuming he has this attitude because he's rich and famous and gets stuff sent to him when he breaks it. No. He's clearly had this attitude before anyone knew his name. He quit his shitty job to move to NYC for the opportunity and to take a risk, and he got paid back for it (not with free material possessions, with experiences and opportunities to succeed.) He didnt max out his credit card because he knew someone would give him money anyway, he did it because he had a passion and an instinct and it has been 100% rewarding for him because he took the risks and the opportunities and made them work for him. Stop acting like he doesn't deserve what he has.
I recently left my job and started painting, my funds are supposed to last until the end of next month and today I was thinking of quiting, because I have no idea how I would survive after that. Couple places said they are not interested in this kind of work. But then I saw this video, and I started thinking - I found one place that will exhibit my stuff, and I have another request pending, so maybe everything is not that bad, maybe it still going to turn the right way and I shouldn't give up.
