I'm always amazed how he keeps adjusting his settings on his steering wheel while he is driving on the limit.
Yup!, Its amazing how much info they all process and drive at the same time.
Just like any other F1 drivers... omg.
Everyone does that to some extent
no, some drivers only adjust their steering angle
Some others just adjust at which speed they want to crash
It's important (I think) to remember here that while only Lewis's lap gets posted, Vettel's lap was a blink of an eye slower and incredibly skillfully handled. That being said, Lewis is fucking fantastic here. Notable points for me are the esses in the beginning - the way he winds down the gears so fluidly and manages exit torque is awesome. However, the star is S3 and everybody knows it. What kills me is 1:08 and 1:16 - the way he manages those exits is literally flawless. Probably something to do with his incredibly precise management of the brake bias, because the suspension gives him 101% on exit in those two corners. Watch the rotation and the throttle application. Just as you think he's leaning too hard, he picks up power and opens the steering and he gets. literally. the. perfect. balance. on. acceleration. Unbelievable. The car comes around, gets traction, and is up through gears with a single hesitation. The car was perfectly set up and he mastered it. Also: hats off to the track, because even this perfectly setup car was tricky through turn 9. The negative camber, falling track and gnarly curb placement in a high downforce section forces the driver to commit, and even Lewis couldn't prevent minor understeer. Yes, of course I'm a Hamilton fan... but this is why. He's so damn fun to watch drive.
This track is SO damn good.
Isn't it? I don't know why it has so many haters. Oh right, Tilke...so people automatically write it off as bad.
This is one of the best Tilke tracks. I love it
the most underrated track imho, for me is top 3 easily
@@ethownzbh People's hate on Tilke is unjustified
Personally I think it needs more elevation changes and maybe another low speed turn to encourage passing under braking.
Bwoah I will overtake him first corner tomorrow
bwoah check yoself befo you wreck yoself
Bwoah just do it.
Cit
bwoah it happened
Kimi Räikkönen Bwoah you’ve just done that
The last sector was absolute Hammer Time

You can't see it onboard, but on the tv cams you can see he goes over the track limits in TURN 19. Fia is a joke
@@monokult6610 stop crying
Wrong. Over track limits would mean leaving the red/white area which he didn't. You are a joke.
@@gustavbengtson2188 you are the joke. Read the rules. White line is the limit. Watch q1 gasly at turn19 he get penelized from fia
I love the way the car floats over the curbs from 0:23 to 0:28
Armchair Racer Lewis said he really enjoyed that section. Mercedes looked good going through there. Was very nice to watch
I think he didnt even lift through the first section looked flat
0:37 in F1 2018 that would have invalid my lap time 😂
Another Masterclass from Lewis, 81 poles and counting wow!
Matt B - 81
I've made a video on why F1 can't race at the Nurburgring Nordschleife and I would love it if you could check it out and hopefully sub if it was good!

Thanks in advance :)
CrazyAboutCars 84 just watched it was great

103 now
This guy just pulls out some lap time. I don’t know how he does it. But it’s insane every time.
Avais Hussain yup!!!
Avais Hussain It's called driver skills!
He knows how to carry as much speed as possible on the complexes, there's where Seb fell apart, especially on the last corner. Lewis is an impeccable driver
I'll stick my neck out and say he's the best driver since Senna. I don't think he'll beat Schumacher's record 7 world titles but I think he'll equal it.
@@navnig I think people wanna be politically correct and don't say their mind enough. Some are straight up haterz tho. I think if we compare Lewis Ayrton and Michael they all have strengths and weaknesses relative to one another. Overall I'll pick Lewis because he's been able to beat others fairly unlike his two predecessors. It very tough to win fairly in this sport. You have to have a great amount of reserve talent/capacity to be fair in wheel to wheel fight while fighting for championships.
The last sector won him the pole
Pole master Hamilton
Lauda*
Sh. Er it was actually the last corner not the whole sector
He exceeded track limits (@37sec) which is gaining an advantage. This lap should have been DQ'd.
+Sh. Er FIA won pole for him with Red Flag penalty
Everyone exceeded track limits in that corner. watch?v=GH-Uv6OKeDc
One of the best to ever do it.
If not the best
Genna - Football Videos senna,fangio,Schumacher-let’s not forget those three...especially senna..he was UNBELIEVABLY talented
brad 2 senna must or been one hell or a driver he is lewis hamilton hero need we say more. pity i never saw him race even alonso admited senna, schumacher. lewis. fangio, and someone else is the five greatest drivers of all time he even excluded himself it's on youtube you can find the interview
🇹🇳🇹🇳🇹🇳🇹🇳🇹🇳🇹🇳🇪
My head almost fell of my neck when he was going through those S's, just watching it on the screen made my neck muscles cry out for mercy!!!
Absolutely insane precision to get such ridiculous speed! Amazing drive.
The amount of people complaining about how Lewis went wide, Cmon you are allowed to exceed the track limits at turn 9. I am pretty sure most of the drivers did the same. So stop moaning.
This is what Ferrari fans are reduced to, complaining about Lewis going wide at a corner everyone else went wide at.
Im not a ferrari fan, im a toro rosso and sauber fan but its stupid that they can go wide, especially all wheels off the track, not just hamilton
Hello and sorry for my bad english ,but gasly gets penalized for that
Aboubacar Fongbe not turn 9 though, turn 19
In my opinion, track limits should be everywhere. Stay between the white lines. In the good old days when it was all grass and gravel he wouldn't have done that and been able to continue the lap, mistakes should be punished, not help you get pole.
He is just simply the best ever. Already beaten schumachers poles record, on way to beating schumachers “unbreakable” wins record. He is the best of all time. Just listen to Alonso at press conference, was killing it still 2009 when Mclaren weren’t challenging red bull
Yes, now Turn the play off. This is no way near Schumacher, or the greatest of all of them, Prost and N1 GOAT Senna. And remember, with the same car a Rosberg is enough to beat him. Hamilton is not the GOAT of all time, is not even the GOAT of his generation, Alonso and Vettel are better than him.
@VSG eyeQ yeah but he's in the top 3 all time for pole% vs races competed in. Look it up.
I don't think stats means a driver is great. Senna had less but is considered better than Prost and Schumacher. Lewis is extremely good but the cars he has had an Mercedes have been the near best so I think there is an expectation that he should win anyway
Even with all his world champions, he is still nowhere near to becoming a legend
@@kimikeemstar6266 Troll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That last sector was laughably awesome, 👏 Looking forward to tomorrow!
I think w9 is so underrated
I saw Lewis get the pole at the track today. Hopefully he can lock up the World Championship tomorrow so I can witness history in person.
@Jamie Todd There are no American drivers racing in F1 as of now. Sorry.
@Bert Thank You.
Enjoy it John, some people just don't want to admit that we are witnessing a legend in our time. Many years from now when they look at the re-runs of all his pole laps and races, especially his rooky year, they will realise that he was a prodigy who became a legend. Personally i feel that many can not control their biases, focussing on the persona Hamilton, instead of the racer #44, and his abilities on a race track.
@@needeep610 Thank You. I've been a Lewis Hamilton fan since 2007, which was his rookie season.
@McLarenBMW So, you are saying Schumacher didn't make history just because he had a dominant Ferrari..? That's the logic you have put forward... Hamilton bet on Mercedes when they weren't nearly as good... So...
The best sounding F1 car since the v10s and you can’t change my mind
I agree
Amazing how the car is working and how it sticks to the floor in sector 1
Weather you love him or hate him...he is undeniably the best...just the best, wow!!!
This track's flow is out of this world
One of the best in the history
Beastly 2 last sectors for him... stunning performance.
Hell yeah
The car just goes flatout through the s sections it's insane.
This guy can drive, he is definitely up there with the legends.
Isnt it about time these video are uploaded in 4k i mean come on its 2018 and F1 is the the best tech
he makes it look so easy because it was flawless, no mistakes
Lewis is amazing around COTA ..
#HAMMERTIME
Legend
Yay the audio is in sync
Vaaaamoooos Lewis Hamilton Pole Lap
love these videos!
but would it be possible to display his current speed and position ont the track in one corner?
What the crap. Compare this to last year: he made it look easy. Hats off. Seriously, how does he do it? Ive been following F1 since 1996 and rarely have I seen a lap SO on the limit without a driver going overboard to get the laptime out of the bag. He has a cadencd here and today they are going to struggle like a pig to match that.
This dude just gets it right all the time ....Championship No. 5 on the way ...!!
His exit from the hairpin was perfect. He gained a lot of time there and on the back straight.
Awesome drive!
2018 World Champion confirmed
It was confirmed like 5 races ago.
not yet... we never know what happen in the race...
Theo225 If not this week he'll win it next week anyway. Not like Mercedes to get 3 DNF's in a row unfortunately.
+Vince Masuka Disqualification for illegal things in their rims?
Firemarioflower Like the FIA would do anything to disadvantage/disqualify their favourite team, Mercedes... They've been helping Mercedes all year, started by getting Pirelli to change the tyres to suit them better.
El hombre y la maquina mejores fusionados
Fucked that apex up but still hammered it.
wow! Perfect lap.
Watching Lewis go through the esses almost entirely full throttle is insane
I miss old f1 v12 v10 v8 that brutal sound at 18k rpm
If Lewis win today, he and Senna would be the only two F1 drivers ever to win 5 consecutive races in the same track. In Ayrton's case, it was Monaco.
Konson Heb next year, he lost in 2013
Oh, I see what you're saying, Konson. You meant 5 consecutive - For Aryton, 89-93 and Lewis (possibly) 14-18. I'll have to look into that 1988 Monaco GP - Senna would have 7 consecutive with that win...
I think you mean 5 consecutive win at USA.
U are right!! Tks!!
Yes!! Tks!!
Championship #5 tomorrow!
Oh YEAH!!
He would have to win and vettel couldnt be second
Not Fair!
not fair...
@@trimerista Yes
What a beast!
Wow. Amazing
If you have an iPhone 7 or next (stereo iPhone), and if you put it in horizontal mode covering the Ear capsule, you will be able to listen the original sound of the Power unit
This guy don't mess around wow
omg. remembering right now mine ours and his idol Senna while watching lewis amazing pole. Senna was the last brazilian legend. Nevermore watched anything f1 since end 20's after being disappointed with Barrichello and Massa. It will be very hard to see another Brazilian shinning again at f1
Could people please actually watch qualifying before crying about the track limits? It was clearly stated that at T19 all four wheels off the track would have the lap invalidated not at T9, everyone was doing this including Vettel on his last run.
Fantastic!
WOA! He's amazing!
One of the best if not the best modern F1 circuit.
All F1 track should be like this.
i WANT A TELEMETRY with gears and speed
i know im a year late but that’s what’s the steering wheel is for
Nice lap, is there any video of the legal one where he stayed on the track?
Pretty intense for sure!
How about a comparison video to Vettel's time? Would really like to see the differences of car and driver on this circuit!
Fangio, Prost, Senna, Hakkinen & now...... Lewis Hamilton !!!!
You forgot Michael
Clark, lauda ,Stewart
You say hakkinen and not Schumacher or Alonso...
81st carreer pole position that's way aheard the next best 68 to shcumacher and a measly 22 to alonso he has achieve it in only 225 entries compared to schumacher 308 entries the record keeps coming tumbling down
what.
What.
@Dickie Debbil I will acknowledge your FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!
Fantastic lap, especially Sector 3
Well done Champ, hopefully you will get the championship seal and delivered today.
Wow
Simply wow!
Makes it look so EASY!
He's some boy
I am not o lewis hamilton fan but he is amazing driver and one of the best drivers. We can see this from the difference of his teamates.
I love this
And the race is only a week away
Turn 13 was perfect 👌...I can’t get it right in the game after playing 1000 times
now compair this lap with scott dixon's lap posted on racer today.
Ferrari fans will never admit it, but they should have been 1-2 today. As FP3 showed, they had the fastest cars in the dry. But Seb's silly error in FP2, plus Lewis getting that little bit extra out of the car was enough to spoil their Saturday.
M.royer the ferrari fans will never admit they have a vettel while mercedes has a hamilton that's the difference
They were actually happy at Ferrari after qualifying but since you're a Mercedes fan you will always say they hate the Mercedes
@@liith4692 did you fucking read comments? Obviously not.
I'm a lewis fan, not vettel, and even I think that was not a silly error in FP2, it's a stupid rule. So STFU
Hugo Stiglitz You're definitely a vettel fan 😂
amazing track like a high speed Paul Ricard.

This guy is good, possibly the greatest.
Easily in the top 3 of all time.
