I've always loved the v10's in 4 doors. So ridiculous and unnecessary. But awesome
I love insane engines in unassuming cars. Like the W12 in the VW Phaeton. Not really super powerful like the ones in Bentleys but it could be tuned for some fun sleeper action.
I think Audi also has a W12 option in the 2008-2010 S7 or A7

They even put a Lamborghini 5.0L twin turbo V10 in the C6 RS 6~ pretty much the Gallardo’s engine but with twin turbos, but same capacity

Nothing can beat the 5.0L V10 from the e60 M5 imo. That car's exhaust note out of the m performance exhaust or eisenmann exhaust is to die for IMO.

Apple to apples, the M5 is way more savage, way more sporty. In this size of car though, is sporty really the most important factor? the Interior is quite a bit more comfy in the S6. The M5 is well, quite a bit more everything else. :)

I have this same exact model A6. I think that between all C6 A6/S6 models, the 3.2, 4.2 , 5.2 , and RS 5.2, I find the 4.2 V8 A6 is amazing its my daily driver

440hp I thought? I rented this car for the day (cost me $60 haha)...while it was enjoyable, the low end torque was rather bad (which is odd, as this guy seemed to like it)

Calling it a "Lamborghini V10" is a bit misleading, isn't it? The V10 5.2 is an Audi engine, built-wise. It was built by Audi for Lamborghini Gallardo after Lamborghini was purchased by VAG.
When Audi doesn't put a DSG in its usually due to the high torque band. Conventional automatics seem to handle it better, at least at the time.
The delay in the shifts is basically the same amount of time it takes to hit the clutch and shift gears.
at least the transmissions last forever
My Volvo S80 V8 had a “dog” transmission as well. Once you drive it for a while, you get used to it.

Man I like your video. Got a question..What kind of exhaust is it on this s6? Original one or other?
pushing 618 at the wheels, APR really did a number on my S6. Thing is, he's probably already exhausted with light failure warnings dashwise. I've replaced 13 bulbs, 2 censors, and a pair of taillights all together in my 19 month ownership of my 06'. Very (annoying) car to maintain, and a slightly boring car stock, but putting 5k (upgrade-wise) into an s6 was a night and day difference.
19 months maintenance: $6176

The RS has 5.0l, the S6 is the one with 5.2. At least here in Europe.
Also yours sounds like a modified exhaust, the one I drove sounded different, it was stock.
For around 10-15k i've seen quite a few of these for sale years 2005-2008, which seems strange considering the quality, features, sound, awesome looks, and also having a 430hp 5.2 v10, yes the maintenance, and insurance would be steep. but other than that is there any known major issues with these cars?

The v10 is not actually Lamborghini derived. VW/Audi made it specifically for the s6. Lamborghini adopted the platform for the Gallardo.
It's just me, or the interior looks almost like the A4/S4 B8/8.5 ?

a very cool car.. and the accel. weeee :) my brother bought 1 used.. after 8 days some old dude in a skoda decided to turn out infront of him.. now its driver side is stomped in and cut tru from front to rear like a giant tincan opener attacked him. cut tru both rims and tires too doors is pushed so far back they cant open and the usual 4 mm gaps is now well over finger size. its terrible to finally get your dream car and then it just last 8 days. i hope its totaled..
btw.. i heard its the lambo gallardo engine thats used for this car.. is it true ??

The days when German cars had these crazy engines ~~ I mean BMW E90 M3 with that 4.0L V8, the 5.0L V10 in the C6 RS 6, 6.0L V12 in the Audi Q7, 5.0L V10 in the BMW E60 M5, like this was an insane era in the 2000s

I think it wasn't technically a Lamborghini engine, but actually an Audi engine that later found its way to the Gallardo... but maybe I'm wrong

I got this car (SW) since two months (got a daily too).
It's great at the beginning then it's boring, the gearbox is not very smooth with this particular V10 engine, and the car is heavy, nearly two tons.
Consumption is not so high if you are gentle on the gas pedal, about 11L/100km... otherwise it's above 14L/100km.
