- BIG TIME Colorado Wheat Harvest 12 Claas Lexion Combines
Video I recorded in July at a farm in the Byers Colorado Area as they harvest their 2020 winter wheat crop. In this video the farm harvests wheat with their 12 new Claas Lexion 7400 combines with 35 foot wide Honeybee draper heads. Also cutting wheat in a John Deere S790 combine with a 740FD head that the local Deere dealer was demonstrating to the farm. The farm is hauling the grain from the combines with two of their Case IH 500 tractors pulling a Demco 1400 grain carts and a Claas Xerion 5000 tractor also pulling a Demco grain cart.
I was at this farm for 3 days of the wheat harvest with different shots from several different fields on the Colorado plains.
This video took quite a bit of time to edit so if you enjoyed it please give it a LIKE and feel free to comment and share.
Thanks,

Claas is a real German family company. No outside capital, no shares, no loans. You can tell that they feel obliged to deliver quality to the customer. Your constructors say: We are always the first and the others follow us. Thank you for the video and best regards from Germany.
I had no idea Agricultural Technology could have such a big impact. This video opened my eyes!
The giant machine running on the vast field, looks really cool.
Never seen 12 combines that weren't a custom outfit. 12 on this farm is quite an investment. I thought Garnett Farms in Kentucky with 9 combines was big. Awesome video Mike.
Mike, having grown up on a wheat farm where there were more acres than trees and as flat as this was; I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this. Sat down and watched it all after a day working in the office at home. I escaped for over an hour. Thank you for all your time and effort. It is truly appreaciated.

This video is an excellent example of top quality teamwork. In every way, everyone cooperates
with everyone else. That’s farming.
My son & his wife live in Aurorora Colorado. I really enjoy watching what these huge machines can do. Yes I’m a 76 year lady.
I love watching big time farmers
Those corners they cut out are like back in the Massey Harris 90 days. Somethings never change..
I spent College summers days in the wheat fields in Coloradpo northwest of Denver. I was amazed by the thick dark clouds forming with a little white puff of cloud over the Rockies in the mornings that then grew into such huge dark clouds in the afternoon. It was always hit or miss for us. But in the evenings it was always a spectacular lighting storm off to the east.
Bought my first house in Byers 38 years ago. Thanks for showing the harvest.
The precision of these machines is incredible! It's amazing to see how they work at another level.
WOW!!!! That's a whole lot of wheat coming off of the ground!!!! 12 Lexion harvesters eating!!!! Thank you so much for your time and effort to bring us such a beautiful sight!!!
I enjoy watching your videos. Brings back lots of good memories of working wheat harvest with my grandfather in the 50's and 60's.
I started running combines in early 50s as a very young boy open station combines no cab you were exposed.to the elements learned very early to not have a tucked in shirt operating a combine. Amazing how combines have developed since then.
Wow!
What a combine-army... 😲
Thanks a lot for this video! 😊👍🏻
I was on a custom harvest crew that worked in Wray, Colorado area, but I had no idea that the State had this expanse of wheat for 12 Claas combines to tackle. Wow! Something to see! Thank You! - Doug in Iowa 👍🇺🇸
I grew up with these wheat farming families around Byers, Colorado, Big families and Big farms
Im not a country boy but love the fact that they make America what it is. I just watched that whole thing and was spellbound all the way through. Accept for that repeat clip towards the beginning. It was amazing great job!
That's BEAUTIFUL work what today's technology does... I've always loved being a farmer... I have 100 acres and I plant corn, cucumbers, tomatoes and a few others... I like selling fresh vegetables every day.. We would like to thank you for sharing your video...
I am also being farmer...but. Not....now ...u r Lucky man.....
There is about 10 million dollars worth of farm machinery awesome they need all that with the fields being so big 3 square miles per field wow.
Witnessing the seamless integration of technology and agriculture in these harvesters is like witnessing the evolution of a digital ecosystem, where every operation is interconnected and optimized.
Having never worked on a farm it's amazing to watch the combines and tractors working together . It's like watching a ballet the way they all swan around each other .
I grew up in Boston. I have never seen anything like that. I didn't there were any videos. All that cereal! I honestly can't imagine seeing it in real life. I decided at 55 I wanted to start a small farm on my 20 acres. Awesome job with the video.
Hey Mike, just saw Mark Brock's last video on his 'new' CLAAS Lexion 7400, he mentioned your video of the 12 combines.
He has bought one of the 12 combine harvesters, nice purchase.
I saw that as well. It's Canadian now, eh?😂😂
I just cant believe how they have access to just such a large variety of fruits , trees and plants. Feels like they live in paradise. Fresh produce right on their door step , surrounded by nature and enjoyed together in a close knit family and community! All the money in the world cant buy what they have.
A nice 1 or 2 inch rain at the right time in the summer would have a huge impact for these fields.
Amazingly blue sky, just beautiful.
Amazing fleet of harvesting equipment!👍
Mike Less, this is MORE! A monumental video to say the least.
LOVED IT!
JIM
Wow those fields go on forever. Thanks for the video.
After watching the video showcasing the world's largest all-terrain crane, it's clear that this machine is an impressive feat of engineering. The sheer size and power of the crane is remarkable, and the video gives a great sense of just how massive it is in comparison to the people and buildings around it.
You guys are amazing, thank you for feeding the world !!!
Mike, I am showing this video to my granddaughter from Chicago Suburbs. She is fascinated.
Linnebur farms. Cheers to a good time mates.
Awesome video, amazing operation and interesting farming situation! Can’t wait to see what else you have from 2020!
Really enjoyed the video Mike. Way back in the early '80's this farm was about the biggest operation I'd ever seen. They upgraded & got 12 of the newest Versatile tractors (895's I think)...then the company I was driving for helped deliver bigger tandem discs for each one. That was a quite a sight....12 new Versatiles all in a row.....and the support equipment to go with it. Amazing!..... & 12 Claas combines would be even more impressive to watch.
Awesome video.....thank you!
Why are they leaving the corners uncut? Isn't this a waste just to save some time? Best regards from Austria :)
@@petesahatna88 They'll get all the uncut corners when they finish the field. I was told it saves time. My grandad & my dad both did it that way, but I prefer to cut the corners as I go....looks better & it can't take that much longer.
@@brucekoster9253 thank you for the fast answer :)
I was surprised how much of the time they did not have the full header in the wheat. Much of the time they had 2-4 feet sticking out in the already harvested stubble.
That's a very big fleet👍😉 great to see lexion combines😁👍
Wow!! Those Claas tractors are really cool!
I liked the last unload where the combine dumped a bushel of wheat because cart didn't follow him as he turned..lol
Agriculture machines are indispensable for large-scale crop cultivation and management.
Wow, it's not often you get to see 12 Lexion (and 1 lonely JD) working together on a big property like this. They were sure keeping those grain carts busy. Thanks for the video.
Never seen anything like this! Pure industrial magic.
Good video. I can watch this while running treadmill. Thanks Mike.
A whole lot of thanks for spending the time making this wonderful video. Not very often I even get a glimpse of something this huge. I dont have a clue but I just get the feeling of buffalos running around here once upon a time.
Who likes the green more then the yellow class combines
Love watching, espically that Congress lakes corn silage one I was doing work this summer when they were chopping I can remember that one John Deere on tractor lol
Great Video, Love these combines & the Xerion Tractor. You get to film some very Awesome Farms with Equipment that is Unreal with that many Combines. Something that we dont get to see her Local. Thank you for Sharing.
12 combines ! It had to be a long video thank you Mike and thumbs up. :)
that is one Claasy operation!
Thank You, Mike, for this great video, would be a terrific experience to see 12 machines plus 1 harvesting at the same time, you have put a lot of time to record and edit this great video, stay safe and have a Happy New Year, Cheers from Queensland Australia.
This video is an excellent example of top quality teamwork. In every way, everyone cooperates
Lot of dollar value in that machinery. Feeding the world. The challenge I see, is those three grain carts keeping all those combines empty, must have a good and communicative system.
The rep probably retired at the age of 25
You are the best Mike Less thank you for your videos
Yes!!! A long video. I love it!
Could watch Claas working all day.
These guys are huge never seen a group this big
There’s a Canadian crew mostly CASEIH that crosses the border as a harvest crew.. don’t remember the count but it has to be a close call. Massive outfit this is!
@@xSCHEF Walters from Alberta had like 20 machines last year.
Never seen 12 combines that weren't a custom outfit. 12 on this farm is quite an investment. I thought Garnett Farms in Kentucky with 9 combines was big. Awesome video Mike. 👍👍
Your right this family damn near stretches from byers Colorado to the Kansas state line along highway 36, I have relation to the family and went to school with maybe an 1/8th of their kids. I see alot of the others in church.
@@marccrandall9429 Any Idea How Many Acres they Farm? Do they Only Raise Wheat?
@@taylor11089 thousands they own land from byers close to ft Morgan wide and land that stretches well into Kansas some 360+ miles east
@@marccrandall9429 what’s the farm name?
That video was worth it just for the scenery as well as the combines!
Mike does a great job we love his channel. The equipment fleet is super impressive! If you want to check out a much different fun multi-generational family ranch with some shenanigans check out our channel - The county line Cowpokes!
3D printing is amazing! The possibilities seem endless now!
Hi from Australia, QLD
Mike,
Great video as always....👍
Pretty impressive set-up they got there...
After running our new CLAAS 8900's last year, got to say they are the best harvester on the market today on operating cost $ to the hectare..
By the way our New Versitile DT 610's are running absolutely brilliant, thanks to your channel we made the change to Versitile..😉
Stay safe
Thats good to hear.
Great video Mike I work in the water well industry out of the next town over to the west and have always wanted to see their operation in full swing. Im not directly related to the Linnebur's but my grandmother is one. Great video!
Thank you Mike Less foe a remarkable video!
I've never seen fields this big. Amazing.
They are big In Montana and the Dakotas as well.
Where i live, i believe we get fields 1x1 miles in size. Absolutely massive. I believe we can even get some 1x2 miles in size. Although usually they’re split up and irrigated with pivots so its quite rare for a farmer to actually farm that entire area.
Your having too me much fun Mike.
Been looking forward to this one! That xerion was a blast to operate!!
Would it not save time and fuel in larger non-pivot irrigated fields like that if the harvesters cut to the center and started a counterclockwise spiral to keep the head in the grain more by eliminating turnaround and cornering time? Can an optimization program be run to determine if that would be more efficient?
@@mobeydick37 That method is more efficient if your fields are uniformly sized and the terrain is consistent. Not the case here. Even so, you would need precise GPS and a good program to find the dead "center" from the seat of the combine.
So neat to see videos of things I personally worked on I put the duals on the class tractor at there farm
I enjoy all of your vedios. Keep up the great job 👍
Fuel truck, more like a fuel semi!! Great video Mike!!
Love watching these harvesting videos! It's truly amazing 😆
Mike can smell large amounts of diesel fumes like a sixth sense that’s how we get to see the good stuff thanks mike keep it up love the vids
Blitzkrieg on the wheat field.... Great show
Fantastic footage Mike👍
12 class combines! It's a increíble!
BEAUTIFUL.!. BEAUTIFUL!.. VIDEO !..Goo AMERICA!.. nothing he can stop !..Get tha money Make !. .saludos para Colorado!.
*Incredible lineup of harvest machinery!👍*
This gives me good memories of the farm I have ran both machines they both are good combines
D
Super gut gemacht viel Spaß und Erfolg und bleibt alle gesund und munter
Love this, like all your videos Mike,... More,more,.....:)
Ohhhhh this video is gonna be awesome!!! Subscribed!!!!
Mike I must say that watching from South Africa your show is great love your drone shots can watch it for hours find it very relaxing. Keep up the good work please. Jono
Getting Tips as I have no clue what I am doing on farming simulator 19 haha who better to learn from! Thanks mike for an educational video. Thumbs Up!
The most satisfying video that i have ever seen, love it ❤🤌🏿👌🏿
Thats pretty impressive that they own that many combines
Actually, they are leased. They lease for one year and then turn them back.
Loved the video can't wait to see the next one
I spent 14 years in Colorado and never had a chance to see this operation in Action. Sorry I missed that..
What part?
Loved the video i wouldn't mind seeing a longer vedios again awesome job on the video
That's some operation on this farm
That's got to be the biggest combine count on any of the channels I follow 👍
They used to run 30 2188’s back in the day. I used to work at the dealership that did the trading with them. As the combines got bigger they use less of them but back when they had 30 some would get lost in the 1000s of acres and they had to be rounded up every year to trade
How many tractors have?
m.ruclips.net/video/ru7KlJNQMOA/видео.html
Thanks for the video Mike. Can't imagine financing 12 Claas combines. Those farmers have a LOT of faith. Ha!
No their Bankers have a lot of faith when you are 1 million dollars in debt that's your problem when your 10 million dollars in debt that's your Bankers problem
They lease them on two year lease
SWEET and yes I watched to the end.
4:23 I can attest to the amount of rain Mike was talking about. I live about 1.5 hours east on this highway and most of our fields only got maybe 5 inches of rain last year. If they didn't get 5 inches they got less. This year was REALLY dry for a lot of Colorado from what I have heard.
Its interesting hearing about how different farming is up north , we get a average of 55 inches a year here and we use irrigations on top of that .
Beautiful 👍
it was vary dry all the way south on hwy 385 south to limon in late june.i notice from grand island to limon if you did not have irrigation them farmers were in tough shape.
Magnifique vidéo 👍😉
Mike back in the days of old super ninety Massey super 92s we always worked round and round left the corners nice and round the machine stayed loaded all the time no lost motion doing circles waste of time and acres best way to cover acres finish the corners when field was done.
Great video. Keep up the good work.
This is a complete adventure film in its own right. When do bigwigs in Hollywood realize that this is what we really want?
I often wonder how much RUclips has cut into the Hollywood market.
7:12 Don't spill any on the ground! Every crumb counts! Especially when combatting inflation!
Wow, the video is so amazing, my channel is too busy, thank you for sharing the video with my cousin 😍👍🌹
Wonderful Video clarity and beautiful Captured this videos
Those Lexion combines sure can handle all that material at speed. We had a demo years ago running a 12 row corn head and going 8+ MPH barely made the thing groan. I think it topped out at 80% total power used at that speed. Just unreal...as is the price. :) :)
