I recently switched to iPhone & i hate how unorganised the photos app is unlike android where every picture is automatically assigned to a specific folder based on source like screenshots, downloads, Facebook, Instagram etc. is there anyway to attain the same on ios?
iOS photos is terrible. Why would I want 5k+ photos living in a camera roll with no way of knowing what has been moved to an album? I want to store photos in whatever folder I choose. Why when I delete a photo in camera roll it deletes it in the album? Android does this soooooooo much better.
One feature i wish apple photos on iOS had is something that I think Google photos has. It’s where I can organise photos into folders and albums like apple but then you can “hide” or “archive” them so they no longer show up in the library but will show up in the albums they have been saved to.
@@photocath I feel like I have to make a new album with everything and slowly delete what’s been sorted, tagged etc but still unless it’s being done all in one go my OCD mind would somehow mess it up and I would start all over about 5000 times 🤣

I am a photographer, so I have offline storage at home, but when travelling it is just a friggin pain to have to catalogue and tag and put aside. I tried to make a "MyRecents" but can only move around 400 in one go, there is no select all possibility, which really sucks. Lucky enough I have a 1 TB phone, so I have room. Still, it should not be that hard. If they have the possibility to make place pointers it should also be possible to move those linked files Nd get them out of that recents folder. I feel like Apple is not really listening to this.

You are doing nothing wrong. The Apple photo system is against all logic. A big frustration, but Apple thinks everything is ok and confortable. I can give you a solution. Transfer the photos from the Photo app to the File app via the share button. (Not all together) In the File app you can make folders where you can put the photos. When the photos are in the File app, you can delete the photos in the Photo app.
I hate that there is no Camera roll when android had that feature for years....its so annoying because you can be scrolling a gallery and a screenshot will randomly pop up

It has nothing to do with organise photos. Apple don’t want that people do that. Moving photos from the photo library to an album or folder should be possible.

When I add a picture into an album. I now have a duplicate photo. It does not take it out of the library. It adds to the album. So, I have it in the album and in the album. How can I fix this? Is it in the settings?
They need an edit option, so let’s say I want to temporarily remove photos or videos that aren’t in any album so I can delete ones I don’t want. Then put them all back as the standard view. Cause I want to see which photos I really want to keep and what I don’t want. They bulk batch everything but you don’t know which items are in which albums. I want to get rid of ones I don’t care for
How do you back up albums you have created onto your PC? I can transfer all the photos but I don't see any separate albums I have made that show up under the "DCIM" folder

How to custom drag and move photos where we want ..not by daye name and such just pure custom..is there a way?

there is an option from the files app to “send to photos” (or something along that line) if you long press a photo/video

It’s annoying. Apparently in iOS 17, you’ll be able to choose the photo to appear on your widget.
