That spell from Nortje is worthy of a spot in the archives of genuine fast bowling. The last time SA saw a spell of that quality and pace was from Rabada in 2018 vs Aus when he took an 11 wicket haul. Rabada has since lost some pace. Really excited to see some hostility real pace and passion from a bowler...mAkes the game of Test cricket watchable.
Exactly. I always say people who find tests boring don't understand bowling. They only understand when the ball is hit hard. So much suspense and beauty in a bowler pushing his body to the limits for that consistent scorching pace on a good line and length (or ripping turn pitching on just the right spot).

And you have players like Malan, Stubbs, Brevis, Rickleton, Coetzee and the other Jansen as younger players coming through including Jansen, Ngidi, Verreynne, Andile and Mulder all 26 and under. The current coaching staff and provincial setups is doing great. Strangely optimistic. Next 5 to 10 years is setup incredibly well.

I think Jansen can average under 20 with the ball in SENA potentially.
SA had a fast medium big guy in the 70s Vince van der Bijl who ended up with a first class average of 16.5.

Rabada's strike rate and average is better than Steyns and he is just ahead of Steyn with wickets at the same spot in his career. Steyn is the best South Africa has ever produced but Rabada is just behind him and if he remains injury free will more than likely become SA's leading wicket taker ahead of Steyn.

SA already have potentially the best test bowling lineup, and their batting is also improving game by game
Hard to say if it is good as the Oz bowling lineup that has been performing well throughout the years with the likes of Hazelwood, Starc, Cummins and Lyon. This SA lineup looks the closest to be on par with them though.
@@AhamedImran Based on current form the SA bowling line up is superior. Starc has been a shadow of himself for years. Hazelwood plagued by injury and Lyon usually struggles to be quite honest

Stunning Test Match: The stars of the summer, Root, Bairstow, Stokes had their techniques exposed. It was the first real blemish by England. Butcher made a superb point about Crawley & Lees: they need some time out to become better. Ngidi bowled far better than his figures; Nortje & Jansen want to ensure that Rabada does not have to shoulder the attack. Erwee was impressive, Petersen was suspect in foreign conditions; He and Pope will be greatly admired in several years. England were not bad, just outclassed. Well done SA. Bring on Manchester, batsmen from each side improve your technique.

The Dale Steyn celebration we all missed....❤️❤️
The way England batted in the second innings I thought it was a one day match. They did not play the game for a test match - that was the difference between South Africa and England. Also you can see the last four SA wickets costed more than 100 runs for England which also questions the shrewdness of Stokes captaincy. Definitely it is a wake up call to England. Without doubt SA bowlers performed exceedingly well and they are worthy of 20 England wickets.

They are really playing amazingly well in all 3 formats but as they are almost in the WTC final..., Hope they will replicate this performance in WTC final as well at Lord's in 2023.
That's always my biggest fear with South Africa. Always play well in the league stage but choke in the crucial match. But they 70% in the WTC final. There is hope!! All I can say if they meet India or Oz in the final it won't be as easy as playing England!!
The current form they are in, they should win all 3.
And if they can't even win one, i don't they ever will.
@@John-pl8fe I think Key player is Nortje. He is fast, accurate and consistent. Also, English conditions suits him.
I would love to see South Africa lifting the WTC trophy. All the best for T20 and ODI WC as well.
