This game has been in development for a very long time!
Very!
Literally Pharaoh and Cleopatra updated 20 years later, best news I've had today. Looks really promising, it will be interesting to see if they stray a bit from the original concept or if they go for a straight up remake.
I hope if they do a remake of Zeus and Poseidon they include the gods and heroes coming to your cities as friends or enemies or for quests. I just loved that and all the back story of these great Greek myths
Please reply is there any good games that is in ancient Egypt (with giza pyramid lol I know there's no games with giza pyramid) but still an ancient Egypt game.
100% you should do a full play through, you have convinced me to play frost punk, surviving the aftermath, foundation and Dawn of man but this looks like it’s going to be one of my favorites downloading it right now!
PS........GLORY TO RAPTORIA!!!
Full playthrough? The demo is a 45 minute mission.
VitaKet I know this, I mean for future reference, as the game updates he should make more videos thought that was implied with my comment sorry if it was not
@@VitaKet ya full playthrough hints at a full playthrough of the full game when released.
@@shbco.1609 Ya it was implied and I totally agree, would love to see this when released, I'll have to check if it has been, since this was a few months ago.
Raptor- Please definitely do a full play-through! The Nile did historically flood the fields and was actually a positive thing. Also, PLEASE CLICK ON THE FRIENDSHIP ICON!!!! What I'm pretty sure is an emissary from another city keeps coming. He has an icon of hands clasped in friendship. When he stands for too long, it turns into an hourglass, and then he leaves your city. I got so stressed every time I saw him come and leave, especially since you kept talking about how you need to trade with more people but never clicked on him!
10 minutes in, this seems to play exactly like Pharaoh so far.
Perfect.
wilfredoretamalm yes with some freshness
"I'm new here. I wonder what this city has to offer to a person like me."
@@michaelwilson5866 You remember that from the ancient times of the 2000's?
It made me think of Caesar 3 (Which looking into for a few minutes was released a year before by the same developer.)
I LOVED Cleopatra! Hope I can find this game!!
Ancient Hieroglyphics - ☝︎●︎□︎❒︎⍓︎ ⧫︎□︎ ❒︎♋︎◻︎⧫︎□︎❒︎♓︎♋︎ = Glory to Raptoria!
Raptor for my Gaster saying I think it is “I don’t know what to do here”
me Walk Like an Egyptian
TLDR: is it better than Pharaoh or we still have to wait another 20 years?
Also plz build grainary next to bazar, your houses are downgrading because of this.
Lol it is not hieroglyphics
This feels very much like Pharaoh / Cleopatra, from back in the day, then menu names are even the same..
digitalscott256 "I don't know why I came here. This city never trades, and the shore leave is boring."
Got a huge Children of the Nile vibe here, looking forward to more!
SO AGREE !! Every time I see a preview of this I think .. I need to go play my Children of the Nile.
I thought the exact same thing. It great to see what is essentially an updated version
Same and I want it
@Kylem I haven't played Pharaoh so I don't have reference for it. That comment was based off of what I have experience with. I'll take your word for it though! I'll have to find some gameplay and watch since its name keeps getting dropped.
Yes I loved Children of the Nile
Raptor where's part 2 I can't contain my excitement! This is bringing nostalgia vibes like crazy! Pharaoh was a childhood monster and I remember on this cold winter's day me and my friend getting so emersed into Pharaoh and this is giving me the memories I thought I lost! You 100% got to a full play through and at the very least give us a part 2 soon! 👀
lol! - the Nile floods for fertility! - T'is why you build where you do!
Flood on the Nile was never a disaster, it was a blessing. The better the flood, the greater the harvest later. Egyptians knew the flood schedule, so they could use it to their benefit
I definitely going to have to check this one out, I absolutely love ancient Egypt.
Raptor, you need to build a grainary next to the second bazar, or your houses will keep downgrading. That is what the icon represents, not the bazar.
Nonetheless a nice video, i like this kinda games.
Gloria to Raptoria!
I love these kinda games. Raptor! please do continue playing this game! 3.259 likes......
Hi
Egypt is just so cool, I wish there were more games/movies/media around it.
A nice basic city builder, glory to Raptoria!
Hi your channel is the best.
Ні
Wow, this is basically a modern version of pharaoh! That is bringing back some serious nostalgia from my childhood, even some of the buildings like the goods depot look almost identical....... Sold!
Really looking forward to this one.
RAPTOR <
The river Nile is the one thing that makes your farms fertile:
No Inundation = No Harvest.
Need more episodes of this game ☺☺😍😍😍 please make more
This is straight outta Pharaoh. And they are already making a Greece-themed game as well, Builders of Greece.
This makes me so happy in so many ways. I grinned non-stop while watching the whole video.
Glory to Raptoria! (19:46)
GLORY TO RAPTORIA, and I love ancient citybuilders and can't wait to try this out
I am so happy. I am currently playing Pharaoh 1 and i am happy to see this game here
Glad you chose to play this, I'm pretty excited about this game.
Just be prepared to wait with only one dev this game could take years.
Do more of this
This game reminds me a lot of the old game Pharaoh, it seems like somebody just took that concept and updated it and gave it better graphics.
"Even when fires are burning, all I can think about is how hungry I am."
Im so happy, it's like a remake !
The satellite view of Egypt is cool. Adds another strategic dimension to this type of game.
Have you never played any of the original pharaoh, cleopatra, emperor, zeus, poseidon, caesar, they are literally the same games, the only difference is graphics.
Not saying i dislike that, i was hoping for a upgrade to bring these games back to life, but stop pretending that this is a new concept or game, it is not, i would rather call it a revival of pharaoh, or sierra games.
Maybe he never has played them? They are relatively old now and many gamers have likely never played what some of us grew up on.
Depending on the age of these gamers on RUclips I suspect that many of them never heard of many of the old 90’s and early 2000’s games
@@patrickols yes sometimes i forget i am getting "old" hahah
the fact he mentions pharaoh a few times and is still surprised or has no understanding is astounding
I second this. I was hoping there are new companies, even indie ones taking a new perspective or spin on these ancient city builders. Guess I'll keep playing Sierra-based ones then
This is just like the Caesar series. Older PC series of city building games in Ancient Rome. Caesar III was my favorite. I still have the disc.
Well the Nile floods every year like clock work which deposited a lot of fertile soil onto it's banks which made it possible for the Egyptians to produce such an abundance of grain on a regular basis. I think the floods aren't a natural disaster because you can still see people working the farms. They might just be accurate in that aspect which I find pretty rad!
I started over after the tutorial first try. Made things more efficient and compact. I achieved "Victory" at 12,500 bread. Ended up with 9 brickworks, 1 pottery, 2 stockpiles (one of which was closest to the right as possible just for exporting bricks and leftover pottery), 4 clay pits, 16 wheat farms, 1 fishary, 2 graneries, 2 bazaars. I tried to expand my colony to the second fishing grounds to the left, but it didn't make financial sense to do so. Right around 370ish population. I noticed a few bugs like the Jewelry picker in the stock pile had double listings for Take All Take All, Collect Collect, etc. The second stockpile right click menu had about a 20% opacity and was very hard to see.
Plz Make a series of this with military base.
Games like this remind of Civ City: Rome. I fell in love with that game when i was in the 5th grade and i still play it off and on. I think it holds up to an extent to some of the newer city building games that focus on ancient times.
I can relate to you so much. Civ city rome was my favourite game in my childhood and i also still play it from time to time. I just hope this game will be quite as good

What timing, I was just thinking recently about an Egyptian city builder this week
Initially this game reminded me of “Children of the Nile”. It was an old CD-rom game where you required bricks to build everything and instead of the instant process of a structure being built your villagers had to build it with the required resources. Also there was a limited population with all the same tabs and building options in this game. I can see what they’re trying to do with this and hope that they don’t overdo the clutter on screen. Great video raptor. Keep it up
Glory to EgypRaptoria!
Yep, looks like an upgrade of Pharaoh the game from 1999 as many have noticed already. One of the game developers of Builders of Egypt was for Pharaoh as well - Impressions Games. Loved that game, can't wait for full release! :)
As far as I know, the developers are quiet fans of Pharaoh/Cleopatra expansion and decided to make a "new" game, based on that old city-builder.. They are not the same dev. team, but they did a great job so far...
Thanks Raptor for showing us this new game.. Glory to Egiptian Raptoria indeed! :)
GLORY TO RAPTORIA
The fields are supposed to be flooded. The floods bring fertile soil without which things wouldn't be able to grow which is why you can only build fields close to the river. The Egyptians practically built their entire culture around those Nile floods because they were essential to their survival. Bad floods meant famine.
I love city building games. So looking forward to this one being released.
Like someone else who commented, your videos have gotten me excited to get back into city builders. So far from your videos I've purchased Jurassic World Evolution, Banished, Dawn of Man, and Anno 1800, with plans to get Cities - Skylines, Planet Zoo, Anno 2070, and Anno 2205 in the near future. And now with this video, I just downloaded Builders of Egypt: Prologue.
Keep up the good work. I'm still watching a lot of your older videos. Glory to Raptoria!
The housing system reminds me of Zeus: Master of Olynpus. In that game, you have to have multiple resources (food, water, culture, neighborhood appeal, arms, olive oil, fleece and a few others I don't remember) before the houses evolve. You have to have an agorra, which is a market with vendors, to distribute the resources. A man pushing a cart is the distributor. There's also the Maintenance Office, which takes care of fires and crumbling infrastructure.
Seems like a nice sequel to Pharaoh :D
Man, hearing you mention "Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom", that bought back memories. Heard that you played it before, wouldn't mind if you did play it again for us :)
GLORY TO RAPTORIA !!!!!
now that we are Egyptians it sounds like a fanatic shouting as they charge toward the enemy
Man I waited for this so long..pharaoh game came on 1999 and I was 18 that time..I spent 6-8 hours/day for 4 months straight in that game..I never played any strategy/city building game thereafter..even the children of the Nile or Cleopatra which was very similar..want to buy it the first day this game full version gets out..maybe 3 or 4 months to be spent again blissfully
2 new games in one day on the channel, Chistmas come early? Thank you Raptor, keep it up!
Glory to Ancient Egyptian Raptoria. I believe they named those wrong- the bazaar is actually ancient Walmarts and the Granary is Arby's and Wendys.
I'm obsessed with ancient egypt and citi building games! So mixing my two favs! this is amazing!
I'm excited! This is Pharaoh THE RETURN, I destroyed the like button! I want more!
I wish it was more freeplay like cities skylines, with curvy/flowie roads, big map, etc... I would love a CS on ancient times, the expansion packs could even focus on adding other ancient civilizations like the greeks, aztecs, chinese, japanese, etc
Top videos
Glory to Raptoria
which Ancient Egypt games is the best in that category of building the civilization ?
Makes me miss the days of Pharaoh and Children of the Nile... but after all these years I would have expected something more. It's all squares! From the buildings to the layout, true grid city. Even in CotN you could rotate building to give a city a more 'organic' look (although paths/roads could not align).
...oh well, any temples, monuments at least?
I love these games, Pharaoh, Cleopatra, Zeus all great games, worth a play through on hardest!
Raptor! I played it! It finish the game when u finish the mission. Its VERY easy to beat it! XD I put a lot of houses, just 3 or 4 brick production, 5 clay production, max of the farmers, just one firefighter. Beat the tasks, and in the and put 1 ceramic production. Then finish it. (u cant sell to anyone the ceramic). Dont import anything u dont need it. Just export brick and clay because they only buy this two.
i love egypt i learned it in history lessons its my favourite and i like building this game
Damn,Pharaoh / Cleopatra was the longest game I played ever. I still play it from time to time. Can't wait for this.
I love this sooo much!!!! i always wanted a Pharaoh remake!
Children of the nile, I think its still on steam if you want to give it a try. This seems like an updated version of that.
You might want to change some of your Pottery Workshops into Brickworks, as you aren't actually exporting Pottery (look at city screen for your trade partner = they only 'import' bricks) Also you 'may' need one or two more clay pits, as you are building up Straw, but not clay, so the balance isn't quite right.
Love the look of this game, as I was/am a MASSIVE fan of city builders Like Pharaoh, and Emperor (big fan of Gamer Zahk's youtube channel)
Please do a full playthrough, or as much as the 'demo' will allow.
I can dig this game for sure!! I love ancient civilizations ❤️❤️❤️ thanks for the upload Raptor!
The new revamped Pharaoh game looks great!
This looks beautiful, wow. Totally stoked for this game now.
If it's a city builder raptor will come, and raptoria will be built!
So wait! One of my fav youtuber with one of my fav themed city builder.. Now that calls for a like and a full watch video. Please more videos on this!
I'm getting strong 'Cities Skylines - Egypt' vibes
Next episode we are building an international airport and highway system to connect to Babylon.
Put touren vibes away
More like the old Ceasar-Games... i mean... you don't have to worry about old egyptian traffic here... XD
Not even abit 😂
Yes, or “Anno -3000 - Egypt”
In ancient Egypt...the year was divided into seasons according to the flood and drought of river Nile and there were celebrations held at the season of harvesting
wow, thats looks awesome, reminds me on the Game "Pharao" , you know ? :)
show us more, please
Awesome. Thank you for this. Been awaiting this game for sooooo long.
You're gonna have to keep waiting, with only one dev this game is still years away from complete.
Really like the game, would like to see more.
ill post today my method of finishing this game, its really not hard if you follow it, there i will show the best outcomes of certain buildings like farms and clay pits which can be placed in only in certain places!
The flooding is natural. it's supposed to do that. the Nile floods the farms to bring in nutrients, then it recedes and you have very fertile ground.
18:17 the messenger looking guy leaving town completely ignored....
Traders do business on their own
Watching Raptor play, always makes my day...... hey that rhymes!
farmland in ancient Egypt were on floodplains so every year the floods would bring free fertizer and soak the land to keep it fertile, hence why droughts were so big a deal back then. when floods were late or didn't come at all, crops would fail.
A natural disaster in ancient Egypt would be if the Nile *didn't* flood.
Yesssss ,finally
this game kinda reminds me at "Zeus + Poseidon". This game is old but still love to play it :D
If I remember, it came OUT with that game at some point in a trio pack. That’s hilarious you mention that. I’ll confirm that later.
it's like an upgraded version of Pharaoh... which is really cool. I love this so far.
As I never found out about the Pharaoh games until recently via RUclips despite my love of city builder games I really like how this gets to introduce me to the concept fresh. While there isn't much to the game right now I can see it being good and worth a playthrough perhaps on my own channel if I can stop being lazy and produce content.
@Raptor Dude, we would love to see episode 2! Would 100% SMASH that liiiike button!
It's like a modernized game of Pharoah
I hope you have part 2
The Nile floods every year. This enriches the soil. Sometimes the flood is very high, and damages buildings, or is very low, and causes food shortages. Normal.
Dude :D River suppose to flood your fields :'D that's how the Egyptians were fertilizing the fields :D
ITT: A surprising number of people remember the great old Sierra city builders.
How the city builder genre 'died' i'll never know
This looks like a modern version of the old Caesar games, almost identical mechanics for upgrading households with wells and fire departments! Looks good.
Great live commentary mate 👍
Thanks for the visit
Just Downloaded it and will have a blast after work, looks quite splendiferous
Don't complain that it looks like Pharaoh. It's a pro, not a con. What would I give for remastered versions of golden classics like Airline Tycoon and Pizza Connection 2. Both of these games got sequels but they were terrible. I hope PlayWay pull this one off.
the flooding is normal. it's how Ancient Egypt thrived. you know, the flooding of the Nile? it nourished the soil for farming.
I have this on my waiting list on Steam. Looking forward to it. I Love City Building Games.
Hope they do an upgrade for Caesar 3, loved that game.
