- A tour of San Diego's Balboa Park. Occupying 1,200 acres overlooking downtown San Diego and containing fifteen major museums, performing arts venues, gardens and the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park is the largest urban cultural park in the United States. In this video we'll tour Balboa Park's "cultural district" starting at the science museum, going by the famous outdoor pipe-organ, and concluding at the location of the future Comic-Con museum.

Chris chilling out in one of my favorite spots in San Diego
you are a legend!!
Right on Mark! Balboa Park is pretty nice!
There's something peaceful and relaxing about your voice. I appreciate the hard work and excellent quality of your videos, Chris! Thank you
Thanks Rob!
We love all your videos so much! Not only are they informative but they are beautiful with very good camera work and quality! ThumbsUP Yellow Productions!
WOW! Thank you very much for the tour. That was a real education on Balboa Park. For years I just thought Balboa Park was just a garden. Now I regret not visiting the park in 69 & 70 when I was stationed in San Diego.
Excellent video! Wow Balboa Park is beautiful , love the architecture, gardens, fountains . I had no idea it was so big. Thanks Chris
Hi bass walking tour garden and drinking a beer just before sunset is one of my favorite things to do in San Diego THIS IS A GREAT PARK THANKS Chris!
Love your videos. Thanks for your tip about coming to the park in the morning to avoid the crowds. I’ll be visiting there from Australia in September
Thanks Lisa!
I appreciate your videos and you showing off our lovely city, but you walked right by one of our best restaurants, Panama 66. It's part of the San Diego Museum of Art in the *FREE sculpture court and garden. They have tasty local food from a scratch kitchen, a ton of the best San Diego independent craft beers, wine, and cocktails. They also have live music five nights a week for free! It's a great spot for an extended food pit stop during a day of exploring or a casual yet romantic dinner at night. Sitting on one of their free blankets in the sculpture garden and drinking a beer just before sunset is one of my favorite things to do in San Diego.
Also, a shout out to the Spanish Village which is on your way to the zoo. They have some fun artisans and crafters selling their work there and the best coffee in the park from Daniel's Coffee.
Thanks for the extra tip on Panama 66!
Hey Chris! Funny true story here. I used to live in San Diego in the early 2000s and my dog absolutely loved Balboa Park. I’d take him for a ride and he would sulk in the back seat the entire ride until I said, “wanna go to Balboa Park?” Then he’d go crazy, lol.
Hah
I feel his emotions. Love that park
Gret place. Adventure land for me. I lived at Richmond and Upas Sts. 1943 to 1966
Great looking Park. You live in a beautiful city - so much to offer. Thanks for sharing.
Balboa Park looks amazing for just going for a walk to check out different things. Thanks for the tips regarding the parking! That is not something I usually see in videos, and that is one thing I usually have to do some research about before going somewhere.
Parking is important! :)
The best time to be at Balboa Park is in the morning, later on it gets so crowded.
A lot of memories there. Loved old Town also
I think I am looking further south like this area and I can't wait to move to Cali. Soon enough
Love your videos bro!
Thank you Chris for this Video. Its very helpful and i like your style of videos. Can learn much for our next trips. Greetings from Nuremberg, Germany, Sven
WOW!!! I didn't realize there was so much stuff to see & do there! On the list!! Thank you. 😊👍
Yeah. Definitely a must visit in San Diego
Awesome job Chris.
so happy you mentioned the model train museum... absolutely one of my favorite places in California !! I was hoping you would film the miniature riding railroad in between the park and the zoo... another favorite !!! Thanks Chris !
That little railroad is cool!
Thank you for this video. Greetings from Germany
Thanks Carmen!
I live in SD and I think you’ve done an amazing job in giving out information and knowledge to those who are visiting the city or plan to, and where to go to have a good time. Again for any place if you know anyone who lives here ask them to go with you to have at least someone who knows their way around. If not just do as much research as possible, be safe, be vigilant, and have a great time
Thanks Ricky!
Hi Chris. Balboa Park is a great place to spend the day and immerse yourself in the culture and history. And of course visit the World famous San Diego Zoo.Balboa Park is a very unique park. Thanks for sharing.
I’m really not big on parks, but I’ve always loved Balboa Park, and Le Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris. They are truly magical places.
A great tour, as always, Chris.
P.S. I had the best ever Chocolate Chip cookie in that small coffee shop (by the entrance, 6:52) on El Prado Courtyard. 🍪
P.S.S. I’m really surprised that you didn’t mention anything about the famous Donal Hord sculpture, ‘Woman of Tehuantepec,’ showcased as the centerpiece of the Prado Courtyard; one of the coziest and most romantic places in Balboa Park.
I'll have to check out those chocolate chip cookies! And I'm clearly not a cultured artsy person :)
@@YellowProductions LOL 😆
What a wonderful video. Very clear 👌to understand 👏
Thanks Terry!
THIS IS A GREAT PARK THANKS
such a lovely, informative video ~ I enjoyed the 'tour' & I will check out more of your videos. Kind regards, from rural S.E. Indiana
Thanks Mia!
Nice work.
WOOOOOW
very thorough 👍
Beautiful video ! New to RUclips just subscribed to you ☺️
Plays other than Shakespeare are performed at the Old Globe Theater. I have seen 3 there.
In this one you cover a bigger area than at the 360 one, but both are great!
Great walk. Will definately have to visit there. Where is the Australia house?
Hmmm.. no Australia house there.. but there IS an Australian garden :)
Can you make one vlog about Carmel-by-the-Sea someday?❤
Chris is me again thanks for the informstions christine
Thanks Christine!
👍👍👍😊
Hey chis can you please make a video about Albany ?
you could do a Masterclass on being a tour guide.
coming to San Diego the last week of December/first few days of January... will most things be open?
Yup! San Diego is a year round touristy town
@13:03
I know there's a dirty joke in there somewhere.
Wait you're back from Hawaii already?
This was recorded a few weeks ago
Lovely until the city allowed the place to be turned into one big ugly swap meet. Get rid of the street vendors!
I'm with you Tim! The vendor situation is out of control
that sucked ! I don't think your from SD and you didn't share much history
I'm born and raised in San Diego. I'm just not a history major 😉
