I am in a nested outage. It really sucks knowing it is just the transformer or fuse that needs to be fixed so me and my neighbors can have power again. We don't have visible line damage in the neighborhood. The houses across the street have power. I just want to know how long it is going to take for them to get to me. They have told me nothing. No estimate. I understand this isn't about me, and hundreds of thousands of people are in the same boat. Please just tell us what to expect. We have been waiting and waiting and waiting some more. Everyday that comes I check the outage map constantly, hoping that today will be the day. It is psychologically draining. Communicate with us so we know!!!!!
YES!! This is exactly how I feel. I'm not mad I don't have power, that's normal after a storm, but the communication from then has been laughable. That's all I want is to know so I can plan accordingly. Sure maybe they can't be on the dot but at least a 2 day window or something
You couldn't pay me to live in the Houston metro area. After a big storm snapped utility poles in our city, crews came in from other states even, and we all had power again in 3 days.

The system indicates power has been restored to my neighborhood for over 6 hours and yet only 3 of 300 houses have power. Is that a nested outage, too? Or is CenterPoint just full of 💩?
Sat morning, whole neighborhood:We live in a neighborhood of elderly and disabled off vineyard and Westheimer below Bush park where every other neighborhood around us has power or close dates....but we're still listed as pending review, despite no downed lines, poles, or trees. An inspector was here Weds and said everything is good to go for Weds restoration, but we've never received comms after that, even with Power Alerts, and are still listed as needing review. It's like someone lost the paperwork. This is a neighborhood with a LOT old elderly and disabled people, and we have no way to talk to CP about it.
Some areas may take months ! My cousin is a lineman and said some areas are expected to not have power until November. They don’t want to let the public know because people will panic.

I can believe that! It was a lady on the news yesterday talking about it. The day of the storm she said a tree fell on a power line and the line was leaning . A day later 6 more lines fell like a domino effect because of the weight of that one line. They all were laying on the street with trees tangled up in them. She called the power company and they came to look. They said it was horrible and she’d be first in line for help, lying. They never came back. I can’t imagine what it looks like now!! Cars had to turn around because half the road was blocked.
This garbage man, this is truly a frustrating situation. Hungry, hot, humid, and running out of clean clothes. And I still have to go to work at a construction site. Just wanna come home to a cool house and able to take a shower. Can't have that now. Not anytime soon

1990's we were without power and water for 3 weeks in 20 degree weather during a freak ice storm. 5 days a walk in the park You have to be prepared
