For years I wondered why I felt like I could somehow relate to both Donnell and Charlie more than anyone else on the show. I thought I was starting to understand the black experience for a second but it turns out they’re both vets too. Just some subconscious thing where we tend to congregate I guess. Still appreciate Chappelle for introducing me to both acts though - especially Charlie. Sad that he passed away but he definitely outgrew his brother’s shadow.
Donnell is literally one of the greatest of all time. This mans style is so refreshing
