I went to see Rocky Votolato at a festival on the other side of Washington. Me and my friend found these guys outside of a motel room. We smoked with them and played hacky sack for a while then they gave us a cd and we saw them the next day at the show. I was really surprised whenever I find a band and they give me a cd they usually suck but this band is incredible.
They're all gone, she'll rot Wishing as she swam that her own moon would be her only friend But he too is swimming away an inch more every year and... Almost forgot, about the other spheres here It took a few hundred light years for the bad air to clear up out of here Soon now her star will swell Bloat up, turn bright red At least that's what we said, might happen to it They're all gone, she'll begin as just elements again Tumbling in the solar winds In and out they'll spin in a different direction Somewhere else a similar situation Some random formation, occuring in the same equation Building new destruction "They're all gone", she said with soar achy fault lines Still following guidelines A stones approach Pushed to swirl in some other new stars light Soon now too that star will swell, releasing brand new moons, Dark matter and toxic fumes It's just a dusty interstellar saloon Soon now too that star will swell, spread out and then shrink up Some white dwarf will hold your cup half full Because elsewhere new volcanos erupt They're all gone, but she'll still be seen somewhere else melting Some other eyes absorbing A new light inside of some new star-ling Soon now too that light will die, Soon now too that light will die but its energy never does It burns in some other new blood (x3)
paulpz2004 I'm pretty sure it's "sore* achy fault lines", but I really like the imagery of "soar" ones, i.e. flying ones. Thanks for the putting up the lyrics in any case!
Lillian Shwartz, the person who made this video, is 95 years old this year. 82 year's old at it's inception. And to me, that's just, fucken, bad ass. It hits so hard.
You can get so lost in their music for a moment like you are taking a journey through it to come out an even stronger wiser compassionate being ... Music truly speaks to your soul ....
this song helps me think, its one of those songs that eases ur mind, and reminds you of the beauty of being human, having the ability to produce such amazing artistic creation, i love this music
The first time I heard this I was living underneath the first floor in the mezzanine of my dormitory. My friend from the class I finished earlier introduced this song to me right before she left to take the bus. I sat there, underground, and totally absorbed everything this song was exuding: peace, solace and beauty. It's funny because at that time that was all I needed.
These guys are so good. I also found them out through a Modest Mouse concert in February of 2009. They have such a unique sound that I haven't heard before. I really hope these guys reach their musical goals.
If you like the mimicking birds you might like my band The Tide Pools.RUclips doesnt allow posting links so try googling "The Tide Pools Traffic Lights"
@drewmoney51 It's a home recording, and I'm assuming the original version. They used to have free downloads of all the home recordings on Virb but it's deleted now, so you can't find them anywhere.
I'm not sure of the recording this came from but ive had some encounters with the members of this band and if i remember correctly this version of the song was played when they were lacking a lead guitar player.
these guys have a lot of potential! don't have a highly original sound yet, but this young lead singer has great tone and they know how to put songs together. ... hope they avoid the 80s synth Apple aesthetic that seems to be pervading ... be cool if they get a little anger into some of their songs ...
I hate to say it, but this early recording is better than the one on the record under Glacial Pace. The little organ chord/guitar slide interlude is better on this one.
I agree completely. I've always preferred this version, but that might be just cause I heard this one first. I feel like it conveys the emotion and feeling behind this song better than the album version. I love Isaac Brock, don't get me wrong, but I feel like he has a tendency to put a little too much of himself into the records he produces for other bands on his label.
That band, what a downgrade! Kidding of course, but there is something very nice about these home recordings. Not as clean as the official business, but that's not necessarily a detractor.

Truly one of the most beautiful songs I know.
simply
Classic
it really is
Thank you for your genius for noticing 😢
They're all gone, she'll rot
Wishing as she swam
that her own moon would be her only friend
But he too is swimming away
an inch more every year and...
Almost forgot, about the other spheres here
It took a few hundred light years
for the bad air to clear
up out of here
Soon now her star will swell
Bloat up, turn bright red
At least that's what we said,
might happen to it
They're all gone, she'll begin
as just elements again
Tumbling in the solar winds
In and out they'll spin
in a different direction
Somewhere else a similar situation
Some random formation,
occuring in the same equation
Building new destruction
"They're all gone", she said
with soar achy fault lines
Still following guidelines
A stones approach
Pushed to swirl in some other new stars light
Soon now too that star will swell,
releasing brand new moons,
Dark matter and toxic fumes
It's just a dusty interstellar saloon
Soon now too that star will swell,
spread out and then shrink up
Some white dwarf will hold your cup half full
Because elsewhere new volcanos erupt
They're all gone, but she'll still be seen
somewhere else melting
Some other eyes absorbing
A new light inside of some new star-ling
Soon now too that light will die,
Soon now too that light will die
but its energy never does
It burns in some other new blood (x3)

This is my favorite song. Ever. It hasn't changed since I first heard it ten years ago.

i love it..it's Earth speaking after we have finally destroyed ourselves...
This is one of the most incredibly beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.

Listening to this brings a warmth resonating in my chest. Magical.
Aaron Vincent
Indigestion.
I specifically look up this video almost every time I load a bowl. ;P try it out.
I play this song at 0.75% speed every night to bed. Especially when it’s raining and thundering outside my window.
Beautiful
Same here
makes me think of all the unfathomably amazing things out there in our universe

one of the most beautiful songs i;ve ever heard
Anyone else keep finding this video cuz they like the demo more than the album version?
Agree
my mind just melted from the massive amounts of indie radiating from this song. Yes.
this is such a haunting song. it is the definition of music
Officially my new favorite song.
this is what the gods smoke to when they're trying to figure out what to do with us.
hahahaha
There's truly nothing like these guys💕
I completely agree with you these guys are absolutely phenomenal.
This is from Nate Lacy's home recordings, when Mimicking Birds was just him and he didn't have the band behind him
lil bo weep 🤍
I love her
she’s so beautiful
Man these guys are spectacular.
i miss him so much
best song ever written
The demo version of this and burning stars are much better than the album cuts imo. But maybe that's cuz I heard them first
I thought that
Same.
I'm so, so, so in love with this song. So in love. So very, very in love.
Lilboweep( Winona ) showed me this song years ago she then passed away R.I.P
I just realized the video has bits of Conway's Game of Life in it. Seems fitting.
These guys are so good. I also found them out through a Modest Mouse concert in February of 2009. They have such a unique sound that I haven't heard before. I really hope these guys reach their musical goals.
This is the original version to me
This song is good because it's good.
its great
When you know what the song is about and you hear that sound at the end... shit it gives me chills every time...
That was a beautiful interpretation of this gorgeous music. I agree. This music in it's entirety, is the sound of the universe.
i like how i cant quite understand the lyrics. The vocals twirl and flow in the air like the chaotic flow of smoke. It's so calming.
I love her.
A true work of art.
I am in love with this band.
why on earth did they re-record this for the album and not use this version instead?
I want this song played at my funeral.
beautiful
This is so much better than the album version.
This is pretty dope
Goosebump inducer
This song is amazing, found the lyrics and their killer.

Full Cover "The Loop" by Mimicking Birds - Bethany Magnie
Its private now if anyone is intrested.
thanks lil bo
I found it, it's from a bunch of demo recordings for most of the tracks on their self-titled album, but they're hard to get a hold of.
Actually Isaac said he listens to love is laughter at 3 times a week, but still an amazing song and amazing band!!!
love the song... love the video
beautifully said.
Damn I love this band
says it perfectly
Amazing.
Bumping it
Mother Earth likes this song
Science folk at its finest!

3 people were attacked by birds as young children
I left you a note...hope you read it baby... wont be here much longer
@mst3000k Yeah. I saw on the myspace that they are playing again. Too bad they aren't coming to California...
@jessifer41
And I like that the riff is just a bit faster in this one.
Emily Wilks .. wherever.
@TheMousepie Well it's good I'm not interested in being friends with him. Just love his music.

What recording is this taken from?
Eighty Ate.
@MechaMary Aye where did you find the lyrics for this
Where can I get this version of the song?
Anyone know where i can get the lyrics for this?
If someone could give me the piano chords to this song, that would be tremendous.
choo choo
You need to be a science major to understand the lyrics, lol. I
Robert Kelley wrong. Lol
That band, what a downgrade!
Kidding of course, but there is something very nice about these home recordings. Not as clean as the official business, but that's not necessarily a detractor.
