    It's funny how these video's are more helpful than the thearpists I actually speak to in person.
    I actually teach them myself stuff I learn from you Ali😁

    I’ve recovered nearly fully literally because of your videos, I’ve seen an OCD therapist in the past for one year and your videos are 100x more impactful and informative. Thank you so much

    Always stay on guard! I was at the end of recovering from a bad harm OCD theme when I started freaking out about random pains I have in my body. Two clear scans later I realize it was ocd 🤦🏻‍♂️

    2 years ago my OCD was terrible but with medications, ERP. It''s gotten much better, about 8 /10,but I noticed that I am still avoiding doing some things. I want to be 10/10.

    Thank you a lot this is so helpful !! Can you please explain the difference between avoiding thoughts and not engaging in thoughts? because everytime I try to not listen to my OCD and not listen to my thoughts I am afraid that I am avoiding , my OCD is about trying to reason everything I read or listen to especially if it is something not in my native language .

    • @vitalii9125
      @vitalii9125 4 года назад +4

      Not engaging is when you say "No, I will not follow the thought". And switch to another one, non-OCD-sque.
      Avoiding is without mental effort to stop 'em and is bad. It causes fatigue.

      I used to re-check every new information I had learnt. About irrelevant info, not important at all. How many percents. What corresponds to what. In what year. Names of people in article.
      Looks similar.

      Yes, not engaging means that you know that the thought is there but you do what you want and don't do the compulsions. Avoiding means that you want to make them stop, trying not to think about them and not doing things you want because you follow what OCD tells you.

    Is it still ocd if My compulsions have gone down a lot , but my thoughts race all day long. It never quiets down. It’s as if someone turned on a radio really loudly and it never turns off.

      Hey,
      It could be pure o.
      I was in a similiar place, but I got a lot better after. So I think this means you will too.
      Meditation made a big diffrence for me. It can help you control these thoughts.
      Hope this helps!
