The Demon Princes series wraps up with the lord of Lust Asmodeus. The occult and biblical lore behind this demon prince goes so much deeper than this unknown demon than you might expect. From non canonical books of the bible to the to the story of king Solomon. These representations of the 7 deadly sins can teach us a lot about ourselves and the nature of humanity itself. Continuing the trend of the demon princes explained videos, we will be explaining the deadly sin of lust and all it means for yourself and society at large, then we can discuss the occult and biblical interpretation. With run ins with even the great king Solomon the great demon prince Asmodeus is incredibly important to demonology and the hierarchy of the underworld. This demon plays a small role in the shin megami tensei games, but the few appearances he does have always leaves a striking impression. From early shin megami tensei to Persona the appearance this smt lore and persona lore explanation let's dive into the ancient biblical demons. Within the many layers of hell exist a seemingly infinite amount of demons ready to bathe the world in endless darkness and sin. Among the countless hosts of spiritual beings, there exist a few that stand above the rest, those who hold the title of demon prince. These profane members of the ruling class represent the deadly sins and take on every aspect of humanity we’d rather ignore. The subject of today is Asmodeus, the archdemon of the deadly sin of Lust. A sin we are all guilty of in some regard, and perhaps the one sin that can lead to the most loathsome of actions a person can commit. Betrayal of trust, supreme dehumanization, and disrespect for your peers, are just a few of the lesser repercussions of this sin. True lust is perhaps the most unforgivable and base sin, one that brings us back in evolution to our most primitive mindset, with all the negatives that come with it. Asmodeus being this sins patron has a lot to dive into, from his biblical appearances to his more occult interpretations, let’s dive into the prince of lust.

Fun facts about Asy:
- he hates fish and water as he can not swim (he grew up in a village in a desert landscape) and once had a very rough encounter with leviathan.
- when he clashed with solomon (who is actually his halfbrother, asmos mother was a succubus called agrat bat malat, their father is king david) he was chased all the way from jerusalem to egypt.
- some versions of the story say that asmodeus was first captured by solomon after possessing a worker, then being forced to build the entire temple of jerusalem alone. He broke free from the rings spell in secret and snuk out one day, hiding behind the throne, waiting for solomon and THEN yeeting him.
- depending on the source, asmodeus is wether liliths son, boyfriend or emotional support demon.
- while not being trustworthy at all, he actually is a really nice and humorous guy

Sometimes, affection towards men and women can be a beautiful thing, as it was one of the key factors to what makes us human. However, lust is the complete opposite. It can be used to achieve power and make others inferior to you for complete dominance; and could be tooled to abuse innocent women. Asmodeus ties to both definitions of lust, as a prince of hell himself. But love and captivation needs to be used carefully, otherwise it could lead to some of the worst crimes humanity has committed.
Love is the single word that describes Christianity and its values completely, lust is the complete antithesis and perversion of that word. Good point.

My favorite appearance of Asmodeus is in the game Helltaker. As you collect demon waifus on your way through Hell, indulging in your more base desires makes her kill you and gives you a bad ending, but ignoring her advances makes her join your harem.
She's often depicted reading a book called "Spider Season" and blushing. The creator of Helltaker put the game out for free, but asked that fans pay him back simply with fan art, so on the Steam Community page and 'Artwork' tab, there's a lot of quality depictions of her and the rest of the demons. So... you guys just have fun with that...

Great video, Tony! I do love the fact you show how the different incarceration of Asmodeaus in SMT... tho it does make me wonder what about the demons/characters based on them outside of SMT? Like how accurate are they protrayed to the ogs?

I appreciate your perspective on Asmodeus. Sadly a lot of recent ones are too scared to step into his darker aspects and storylines. I also read in another version of the Solomon Story (Legend of the Jews, Volume 4); he also doubles as a form of judgement who can help and hinder others at will based on how he learns their truths.

Asmodeus was probably one of my favorite units on 4. I have this man giga busted and usually toss him into the DDS so i can smuggle him into NG+. I do lamemt having Chakra Walk on him and not being able to replace it at this point tho
You'd really think the mainline SMT games would do more with the demon princes, odd how they always seem to get overlooked.
I think it would be interesting to take a closer look at the demons from the lesser keys of solomon, like the ones from ars goetia (orobas, decarabia, stolas, buer, etc...) the last two seem to appear a lot in media, from what I've seen.
i feel like a full ars goetia series, while it might take a long time, would be a great investment

If you have basically nothing, then it would be lust. Greed only becomes a sin when it's actively harmful to those around you.

For anyone who is interested, i practise witchcraft and work directly with Asmodeus. Most of this video is a Christian perspective of him so you may want to know his point of view.
Firstly, the vast majority of your lusts happen naturally and Asamadaos has nothing to do with it. Lust is just part of your physical desires and show part of who you are and what you want in life.
What he wants is people to stop supressing or denying those thoughts, and instead explore them and find a way of embracing lust in your life. Doing that will not turn you into a monster, it will do the opposite. If you allow yourself to enjoy your lusts on a regular basis then it is much easier to be in control of them. Lust in moderate amoubts is healthy and good for mind, body and soul. Happy to answer questions on his behalf.
What would attract Asmodeus to a person? Does he tell the truth? What form has he showed you?
@scarletangel1997 Its a long story so I will keep it brief. I left Christianity after 15 years from learning firsthand how cruel that God can be and was doing witchcraft to get control in my life again. I was not working with any spirits directly, just homing my accuracy of divination, learning spells and talking to local spirits. I was a grey witch, someone who wants to live in peace with others but will not hesitate using curses if under threat.
One night I was practising witchcraft and felt a spirit wished to enter my home. I asked who it was and he said King Lucifer. Immediately I felt his power that pressed me down, but he was careful not to harm me. He said that his servants had been watching me and I was the right kind of person to speak with him. Most people would run in fear from demons, including most witches who follow a new age/wiccan/lightworker path. Of the few that would embrace working with a demon many are sadistic in nature and use black magic to harm without good reason, which will in the long term not help the development of demonology. King Lucifer said he would send another demon to work with you and my wife.
A month or two later I was visited by Prince Asmodeus, but first I had to use my witchcraft to identify him as a test. He said demons are tired of being "demonised" in all of religion and the media, but humankind has progressed enough to begin to listen to them, and that demons are not actually evil (or at least not any more evil than angels or the Christian God). Yes they sow chaos and destruction into the universe, but this is needed for universal balance.
So what does he look like? I have learnt that demons don't keep a constant form and like to be fluid, in keeping with their chaotic nature. That is why each description of him in literature is different. This is in opposite to angels, who are beings of order and are extremely complex but fixed states (read bible in how angels look like, Asmodeus said the description given is accurate). When I see him I see a shifting shadow of a person, but he has actually enchanted a object in my house which acts as a psychic connection between me and him (and my wife). That way I don't need to see him.
Is he telling me the truth? Impossible to know for certain, but he has kept his side of the deals made and has not tricked or harmed me in anything. The same cannot be said of the Holy Spirit when I was a Christian. Currently he is teaching me demonology and how to harness and use true Chaos Magic. In exchange I am posting corrections on inaccurate or incorrect videos that talk about witchcraft or demons. So I post on a lot of Christian videos lol.
Asmodeus revealed himself to me in my head last year. It was for blasphemy. Didn't even know him.
@MrGuggisberg few seek out demons and not all that do are worth their time. So demons often find those they want to work with. Up to you if you want to accept or not, but most of what they do is blasphemy to the Christian religion.

dont like how christianity has demonized(cant think of a better word)"immoral thoughts" which are largely involuntary(i guess the writers didn't understand that at the time.) getting thrown into hell for getting a base involuntary human desire is ridiculous.
That's not quite how it works, since everyone is a sinner anyway and the way to heaven is through atonement. There is literally always a way to redeem yourself when you understand and accept your sins and are willing to accept the consequences.

@teeth227 I practise witchcraft and work with Asmodeus directly. Your on the right train of thought, Asmodeus actually has to do very little tempting, our own lusts are enough in themselves. People do bad things out of lust because they supress themselves and will occasionally lose control. Asmodeus wants people to understand and accept their lusts, give it a place in their life and have a healthy relationship with their lust.
