There's a theory that the reason why Konoha is able to produce legendary ninjas from very obscure clans like Kakashi's and Minato's is because the Senju decided to marry outside the clan. They didn't vanish, just they stopped using their banner and married into smaller clans to spread out their good genes and made the Leaf Village as a whole stronger
I saw NCHammer mentioned something similar. It does make sense tho, I guess the later Senju generation had more women then men, so that way the name goes "extinct", so to speak. Very interesting, imagine Kakashi's Pops being the son of Tobirama.
Came to say this
Not everyone would choose to marry out of clan even if the members had permission to do that. In fact most people would choose to marry within clan despite the choice either due to pride or wanting to preserve their genetics.
@@Gohan9112 Yep, there is no way that every Senju would of been open to the idea. Just keep in mind that a good 70 years and 2-3 generations have passed. Its safe to say that the Senju who would of been open to outside marriage would have already integrated themselves and their descendants while those who would of opposed would be retired or passed away. So pure bred Senju children of those who refused to marry outward after so many years without a proper head of clan would be forced to accept the fact that their clan lost influence and have to move on by being absorbed.
@@StillAwesome21 Yea, I can see that too. Given that the 1st and 2nd Hogakes died during the the great shinobi world wars to protect the village, it probably put a precedent for Senju men to rush off to war and protect the village at all cost like the heads of their clan. Similar to how WWII left Russia with a lot more women in relation to men, the shinobi world wars likely killed off a lot of the Senju men and left the clan with a lot more females that took other names.

The senju clan could have been the real reason why the uzamaki clan was destroyed. Most of the senju clan could have been in the land of whirlpools for some reason when the uzamaki were wiped out, with the real target being the senju and the uzamaki being collateral damage. (Or vice versa). We do know that they were close allies. All of this could have caused the remaining senju clan members in the leaf to to disband their clan out of fear of ending up like the uzamaki. So people like Jiraiya, Minato, and Sakumo (Hatake) are secretly part senju which explains how powerful they are despite not being members of a major clan.

I like this take, Sakumo might just be Tobiramas kid, making Kakashi his grandson.
Another hole is the dynamics between the Uchiha clan and the Hyuga clan. As two related clans which had these special eyes, it is a shame to never to have seen these two clans interaction.
It's not a plot hole when "I wanted to see something but writer decided to skip it". Stop making shit 💩💩💩up.
I'll never understand how Konoha started literally thriving with many of the strongest Clans in the world (Senju, Uchiha, Uzumaki, etc.) yet ended up loosing most of them due to their own stupidity.
Uzumaki and Senju... not sure... Uchiha is Danzo's fuck up. from the persecution of the entire clan, to forcing the slaughter of the entire clan.

It has less to do with the story and more to do with plot holes and inconsistencies.
It kinda makes sense that the Senju disbanded and became the backbone of the village hidden in the leaves. They are the Senju of the forest after all. Also, most inhabitants of the leaf have brown hair and dark eyes or silver hair like the Senju. They don't really have a kekei genkai either so bloodline is not really that important to protect or anything. They are simply the quintessential Shinobi clan and decided to share it with everyone. Also, given that they are such a strong clan with no special powers they were probably a very large clan.
Clans kinda worked like royal families where there were main branches were far more important. This is why you have princess Hinata or Princess Tsunade. Most people can trace their descent to royalty but aren't necessarily close to the throne either.
I've always thought that not 100% of each clan ( uchiha and senju) joined the leaf and instead lived on their own, so that there are 2 secret villages with one being pure uchiha and the other being pure senju. Instead of mixing with the world (or each other) they just live in peace in secret.

My headcanon is that the Senbu blended into the numerous ninja clans of Konoha, like Nara, Yamanaka, Haruno, Akimichi etc
Haruno is not a clan. Sakura parents are just civilians nothing special. Every clan has ability or unique trait. Nara with their Shadow binding and intellect, Uzimaki sealing and immense chakra reserve, Aburame and thier insects manipulation anyone is capable of becoming a ninja but with out special ability they usually don't become renowned

one piece of evidence for the senju proliferation theory is that despite it being well known that Tsunade is hashirama's granddaughter to my knowledge the only time she even ignologes herself as a Senju is when she is talking to Madara about her place within the clan itself and at no point does she even call herself or is referred to as Tsunade senju in any shape or form But maybe I misted something?

It's a plot hole. Nobody has a good explanation and people make themselves look silly trying too hard to think of ridiculous theories.
Exactly what I say on every single video like this one.Its bad writing and that’s it.Kishimoto favored the uchiha and didn’t put much thought into other clans.They say the senju was the rival of the uchihas and that their special abilities were being proficient in gen, nin and tai, literally that’s almost every Uchiha we know, so it isn’t that special.They said ashura inherited the body of the sage of six paths, which he passed down to the senju, but what exactly does the body of the sage of six paths do?Give you lots of chakra one might say, but that’s the uzumaki clan. Difference is, the uzumaki got chakra chains and sealing jutsu
Now i understand that there are plot holes in a lot of those mainstream animes, but remember that this is the clan that rivaled the uchiha the most loved clan in naruto, and the clan the the first 2 homages belonged to.They should’ve been no speculation around what happened to that clan

The Uzumaki and Senju were one clan at one point
A theory I read stated that maybe the Senju in the many wars that followed lost more and more ninjas till only the older ones were left and civilians rarely give birth to another ninja so the only Senju left that were ninjas were Tsunade its a probably theory cause Tsunade was really jaded about the Ninja World and maybe not just her Nephew and her Lovers death caused it. Because most ninja clans are not all Ninjas what we have seen of a lot of clans is that the civilian base supports them.
Senju clan and Uzumaki clan both are rarely seen for some reason..

Tsunade is never referred to as a Senju maybe because Hashirama is her maternal grandfather but it could also be due to your theory.

I believed that Senju was the chosen bloodline to carry on Sage of 6 power. Of course since Uchiha was also. Yin & Yang/ Sun & Moon. And i believe Black Zetsu went out of his way to end the Senju bloodline ei the deaths of Tsunades little brother & boo. Which i must add was during the 3rd Ninja war (i think) also the time Nagato gained his Renegan. The passing of Sage of 6 Paths power into the Uzumaki clan, the next best thing to Senju.

The naruto series was good for me because of the senju and were great before that stupid reincarnation storyline. But that is because of my own imagination, you see I think the senju were never like a specific bloodline following group. The senju which means a 1000 would be a direct hint to suggest that the senju were never really a homogenous clan.
They had to start somewhere to get to that 1000 technique mark. I always saw it as they mingled with anyone weak and strong and created the recipe to form a nation before even beginning to build one. I would assume that the senju just broke down into several families in the hidden leaf as they didn't have any reason to represent themselves in a militaristic way, sure some practiced special ninjutsu but I think all of the senju just divided from those "1000 technique" banner as now they had something else to call themselves, "the people of the Village hidden the leaves" So the senju are essentially everyone in that village. Only a few held on to their identity strongly as the uchiha, the byakugan clan and the uzumaki clan, to give them credit they did have some very specialist ninjutsu. Apart from them, I think most of the others are all one and the same .
Also I believe their strength also lay in the fact that they generally had shared more techniques with more people. You see I have another theory as to why some keke genkai are so harmful to its users like the sharingann. I think it is because focused more on purity and a specific aspect of that purity that their body couldn't keep up with their keke genkai. As apposed to the senju who created many techniques and shared that knowledge among its people making it far likely to fine tune them, which also contributes to the creation of so many techniques under their banner and have a sort of herd effect on the people using them unlike the sharingann users who were more about the individual than the community.
In conclusion I think the senju were the underdog who created a system that promoted societal growth which created a culture of sharing a caring which ultimately resulted in the creation institutions( whatever alliances they had) that would make them strong enough to begin their victory streaks.

4:53 that was a bad decision on Hashirama's part in may opinion, giving the villages beings of powerful chakura is just asking for more conflict and blood shed, he should have just let them bee.
The reason the leaf village ninjas are so prominent in quality and quantity is due to the senju lineage in their bloodlines. When the leaf village was formed with the uchiha, many uchihas did not marry outside of their clan; only few married outside of their clan, however the Senju aligned and married with other clans to enhance the strength of the leaf village through their children for the next generations. Most notably the Uzumaki clan. The uzumaki clan were not the exception, if traced back to ancestry it becomes clear most of the clan and village as a whole has senju ancestry.
Yeah, I’m of the belief that they were wiped out intentionally by either or both Danzo and/or Hiruzen. Why? To prevent any future powerful Senju from being born that could take the Hokage position, Danzo wanted the position of Hokage for himself thus why he would do this, Hiruzen never really wanted to give up the power of being Hokage even when Minato became Hokage he still retained control over the ANBU, wiping out the Senju or turning a blind eye to their plight would be a win for both of them, and it could all have happened in the 3rd shinobi war, after all such losses can easily be overlooked in war

When you look for word "Senju" in first Itachi novel, it comes up 3 times. Those are the contexts:
1. There were complaints about the fact that Itachi had been born into the
Uchiha clan, mainly from the teachers with lineages connected to the Senju clan.
In the end, however, they bowed before his overwhelming abilities and grades,
and the way he excelled in all things, despite the issue of his age and the
prejudice toward the Uchihas. There could be no other valedictorian.
2. Eyes still turned to the ground, Itachi started speaking without seeming to
direct his words at any one person. "The Senju clan and the people of Konoha
are still our village comrades ... We should stop creating this distance and doing
things to fan the flames of rivalry."

It'd seem that either they really resigned their name as a sign of tighter union or really there just weren't that many legendary ninja anymore after Hashirama with exception of Tsunade. Maybe in era of peace some less developed clans or clans with fewer numbers had opportunity to bloom and it leveled the playing field to some extent.
Naruto is a weak story compared to some unknown stories that I read. The majority of people only like these stories because SOMETHING has told them too...The majority of these anime be lackluster
The story is great chill out man there is a lot of problems but theres a lot of great in it most stories will never reach the hight of character development Naruto has.
