    Here's something. Their doppelgangers all represented a part of the main characters personality or desire. Moustache Marshall came along when real Marshall was not yet a lawyer but the doppelganger was. Lesbian Robin represents Robin's upbringing where her dad wanted her to be more masculine and manly and she tried to please him. Stripper Lilly represents the desire within Lilly to be more sexually free than her real life allows. Robot wrestler Ted shows Ted's desire to be considered cool by his friends. And lastly Barney who's doppelganger is a gynecologist which I dont need to explain.

      Actually Dr. Stangel, Barney’s real doppelgänger, was a Reproductive Endocrinologist as opposed to a Gynecologist. Basically, a Fertility Specialist. Remember, he worked with men as well, checking their sperm count; something that a Gynecologist doesn’t do. It’s even mentioned in the first 2 minutes of “Bad News,” S-6, Ep. 5.😇

      @@benwalker4305 I mean having kids was actually a desire of Barneys that was showed a few times in the series. When Robin had the pregnancy scare, when he and Ted "adopted" a baby together, and in the finale when he had a baby and loved her like nothing else

    Another important detail that NPH has confirmed is that we have to remember this story is told from Ted’s point of view. His entire portrayal of Barney being this terribly sociopathic man was actually fake and truly Barney was no different than most late 20s early 30s single man in NYC. He wanted to portray Barney as this terrible person so when he ended up with Robin some day, he would seem like the better man. But if you also pay attention closely, you realize how many women Ted was with throughout the series and how he broke many hearts because he couldn’t get over the girl he claimed was his “one”.

      Don't forget either, by Ted's own admission when Robin was dating an older man, "When the girl you like is dating another man, you're mind tends to accentuate their flaws." Ever since then, I contemplated how accurate he was portraying Barney because he told the story knowing Barney stole Robin from him.

    The “Mother’s” name is revealed in the first season during the episode “Belly Full of Turkey.”
    After getting kicked out of the place where Ted and Robin realized that Barney wasn’t VOLUNTEERING to serve Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless, and that it was for court ordered community service, remember, they ended up at the strip club for the Thanksgiving buffet. Ted engages in a conversation with one of the strippers who, when they introduce themselves to each other, says that her name is “Tracy.” “Narrator Ted” then follows up with, “...and that, kids, is how I met your mother.” To which the kids react in utter shock, nearly jumping off the couch and shouting “WHAT???!!!” before “Narrator Ted” laughingly says “just kidding,” putting the kids at ease. The kids KNOW their mother’s name was Tracy. So keeping in mind that everything happening onscreen, which is “in the past” to the kids, is being intricately told to the them, hearing that he introduced himself as Ted, and the stripper introduced herself as Tracy, the kid’s’ reaction confirms that their mother’s name is, in fact, Tracy. The kids would have known he was lying, and very badly, if the stripper’s name was anything other than Tracy.
    WHEW!!! I hope that all makes sense. I probably could have made it shorter, but take a guess as to which character I’m most similar to...

    The thing that annoys me about the ending is, we spent 22 episodes on a single weekend for a wedding that turned out to be completely pointless, and only got TWO episodes with the mother ted and everyone so they info dumped a bunch of things into those two episodes instead of getting to let us see Ted and Tracy's relationship unfold and more into their lives before her death. Plus, Robin and Barny are way better together than Ted and Robin IMO.

      @danielclough9544 3 года назад +4

      I disagree though. It wasnt pointless, it showed Ted's lingering feelings for Robin and hers even though they were buried, it was the venue where ted met tracy, and the two characters in barney and Robin I dont think were ever supposed to be together, robin even mentions in the final season how they're both too independent and can rarely work as a team. Also the whole show depicts ted as this searcher for "the one", but by the end both him and tracy had their "one", tracies being Max's and Ted's being tracy. But both had another "the one", in ted for tracy and robin for ted. That's the point, "the one" is just a story and doesnt hold up in reality. Theres loads more to go into but I liked the ending lol and that's a few reasons why

    • @LifeofBecks
      @LifeofBecks 3 года назад +3

      @@danielclough9544 No I dont disagree with you at all, I fully support that opinion and view. What I mean by completely pointless was that the WHOLE season revolved purely around the event that in the end basically was pointless aside from the fact thats how ted met tracy the whole season was full of filler episodes to prolong this wedding event... I dont care that Ted and Robin end up together, but I do care that we spent a whole season around one weekend and the only things that really pulled the story together happened in a handful of episodes while the rest were full of things that didnt matter like the whole slap episode, the whole rhyming episode and such. I really just wish they made the engagement episode the season 8 finale and then the first half of season 9 should have been the wedding planning and the last half the wedding and such. It just bugs me that we spent so many episodes for this wedding weekend in one season. if that makes sense. I still stand by the fact that I love Robin and Barney together more though but thats just a personal opinion. I don't care that they didnt work out, just that we wasted so many episodes on their wedding and very very little on anything else. But to each their own.

      @danielclough9544 3 года назад +1

      @@LifeofBecks Fair enough, I get what you mean, the ending episode could've been done throughout season 9 and less on the wedding, but then they wouldnt have the ending feel of the episode with ted and tracy meeting under the yellow umbrella at the end. But yeah, I agree the rhyming episode was terrible probs one of the worst ones of the series, a proper filler ep. But yeah I loved the ending personally and always thought ted and robin would end up together, and they foreshadowed this and the mothers death a lot throughout the show and especially in season 9. I do get the rushed side of it though, they definitely could've extended it or even just cut out some episodes like the rhyme one, which would've left more reasoning and explaining for them to do, cut out shitty eps, and add deleted scenes (one of which is great and I wish they kept in - the one with ted and robin catching up as it really solidifies that as a longing relationship and is kind of sad when the scene ends. I recommend checking it out if u havent already). But yeah, I loved the ending, and I didnt ever really think barney and robin were that comparable personally even though I still enjoyed it, I preferred her with ted. And I thought he end was very realistic in a lot of ways, but still had the clever narrative which highlighted some of the morals of the story by the end such as the whole "the one" stuff, and that sitcom ending feel just in a subverted way. But yeah, everyones entitled to their own opinions and I totally get where your coming from but I personally loved the ending 🙃

      I don't agree. The ending felt rushed, and we barely got time to know the mother. I think they should have dedicated at least 3 or 4 episodes to life with the mother. I know Ted was moving to Chicago, but they should have written it to happen later, and just say it is the same "I have to leave, because I can't see Robin with my best friend", and let him stay for a month or two after with the mother, dedicate an episode to Chicago, and an episode to her death. The ending by itself isn't bad, but they rushed it far too much. You can't dedicate a season to a wedding that falls apart the scene after. At least give the audience some time to enjoy Barney and Robin together. They could just move Ted to Chicago two months after the wedding, write that Robin got a job travelling, which causes the divorce, and Marshall and Lily stay in New York, and make friends with other parents.

They spent the entire series saying that Tracy was Teds perfect match, you finally meet her and they kill her off. Ted and Robin is the central couple in this show. He settles with Tracy and maybe even loves her but part of his heart always was in love with Robin. Robin married Barney being in love with Ted and Ted encourages her being good Bro and thinking he will start over in Chicago. If You don't see this then consider two things: Firstly during wedding most heartfelt conversations Robin has with Ted, even during whole engagement, and secondly Robins mother, whose only appearance is for showing feminine side in Robin, gives her advice what should she look for in husband and that man in Robins live is Ted. Also that episode ends with Robin realizing how she has made worst decision in her life. Or citing that knight character "You choose poorly".
    Barney as pictured in show is the worst. He is not only sociopath but also brings Ted down with him. And Ted, if You have watched the show, is easily impressionable.

Many may not have realised this, but this was an indication towards Ted's and Robin's relationship and maybe Ted's mom's and dad's separation was kind off a spoiler of Ted and Robin not really working together but well then we have the finale.

    One thing that I still don't get, if Ted and Tracy don't get married till after their kids are born, why is Ted wearing a wedding ring in the scenes that were taking place before they got married

    Do you remember the Star wars marathon that the guys did every 3 years? Look closely when they were looking into the future (the real one with Ted's daughter in his hand). Look closely to how hard Barney was trying to hide his left hand (mostly I guess because they didnt want to hint that he is/isnt married by showing a wedding ring). Then also look at Ted's hand (clearly showing a wedding ring) which as we later learn was probably a mistake by the directors, because we later on were informed that Tracy and Ted were engaged for 5 years before getting married (where that cutoff was supposedly 3 years later into the future) I am not so sure if that has a bigger meaning, but to me it simply sounds like a mistake that was over looked.

    I noticed something. In the words of Barney Stinson, Gary Blauman actually died. He said it in the episode where Marshall should screamed at his boss. And then suddenly he is fully alive invited to the wedding, what is up with that? :D
