    I just replaced mine on a 320d n47 (same breather as in the video) with 230 000 km on the clock. It was in perfect condition. No need to replace but hey, now I'm sure it's still in good condition.

    • @GeorgeAusters

      Yeah these very rarely fail as it’s just a piece of rubber and a spring

      @m12dragos 2 года назад +1

      @@GeorgeAusters to be honest i was expecting something else... Especially because it was the original one, it has about 12 years on the car and quite a mileage on it... The rubber was very strong to resist in time. It looks like it is preserved by the fuel that comes in contact with.

Have you decided to change pcv to find out how it has to be done or your vehicle had some symptoms like oil in the pipe going from the bottom of the engine to the air filter housing?

    • @Jason.cbr1000rr
      @Jason.cbr1000rr 2 года назад +3

      It makes a whistle spund when you let go off the throttle and the car runs rough and slow due to pressure build up in the engine cos its blocked or clogged or closed at times. And when you come to a stop your idle will be violently going up and down shaking the engine badly also. Especially for a automatic car.
      Turn off the car and turn it on again and it usually disappears but better get it fixed by a new valve cover.

    What are the main issues when the valve doesn't work properly that means when the spring is broken and/or the rubber disc has a hole?
    I opened my cover (E83 LCI -08, n47, and didn't recognize any changes after 200,000 km (?), so I put the spring, rubber disc and cover back.
    But I changed the O-ring in the hose (upper end). The hose is "integrated" with a heating element, so it all costs about 65€, instead of circa 10€...
