Lego Technic Ural 4320 8x8 Trial Truck Modification

  • The ULTIMATE, biggest and the best trial truck I've ever built.
    Uses only Powered Up Control+ electrics. Slow but really steady. Enjoy!
    Note that this is not a replica of original truck as there weren't any made from the manufacturer (at least in this form factor). This is a modification on the truck made by a side company in Russia (the photo can be seen in the video @ 0:23). It is a "modification" and not a copy because my Lego version has independent suspension.
    Features:
    - 4 PU C+ XL motors - propulsion;
    - 2 PU C+ L motors - 2 front axle steering;
    - 2 PU C+ technic hubs;
    - Independent differential lock (manual);
    - Controlled with PS wireless controller via Brickcontroller app;
    - Openable hood, doors.
    Since the official Lego apps don’t seem to support usage of more than one technic hub without remote control (88010) at the same time - I recommend using BrickController app if you have wireless controller. ControlZ app is also an option if you don't have a wireless controller.
    100% lego built except for the tires - Mountain Lion Extreme 1:10.
    Mounted on custom lego built rims which I made myself: • How To Use 130 mm RC T...
    Weight: 4,1 kg / 9 lbs.
    Dimensions: 0,78 m x 0,27m x 0,28m.

    Pros:
    -Looks epic
    -Basically unstoppable
    -It's big, that always makes it good
    -8 wheel drive
    -POWEERRR
    -impressive
    Cons:
    -slow, but that means it's powerful, so eh...
    -drains batteries fast
    -ummm... that's it for cons lol

    Hi there. great build. I really admire the effort you put in replicating the cabin. Very recognisable. Not to mntion the offroad capabilities. Nice one. One thing grabbed my attention was the ramp climbing. When you measure the angle, it does look to me that the phone shows the angle to the vertical axis not to the horizontal. The way you can check it, if you replicate the same circumstances, put your phone on the ramp and then lift the bottom of the the phone to horizontal level position. If the display shows 90 at that point, that means the measurment was 90 degrees offset, as in that position the angle should be 0. If it shows 90, then the ramp is 34 degrees not 56. Or another approach: Phone is on th ramp, showing 56, then you lift the top of the phone slowly, the angle should grow on the display until the phone is upright, reaching 90... By the video, it is suspiciousl, but I can't say it for sure, as the wild angle camera has some distorsion. Nevertheless after a quick check on your chanel, I really like the way you execute these offroad builds. Keep it up.

    I’m designing my own 6x6 LEGO RC. I’m completely new and the differentials kinda have me stumped. Each pair of wheels is gonna be equally spaced, so there’s a considerable distance between them. For each pair I’m gonna have a Torsten differential, but for the differentials between the pairs (like a differential on the drive train between the first and second pair, and a differential on the drive train between the second and third pair), what should I use? Two locking differentials that I manually lock remotely? Or another two Torsen differentials so I don’t have to add any more motors?

      @carlbModels 3 года назад +1

      surely needs metal parts to do that, then it isn't lego anymore. Not that this is a bad thing, but speed isn't everything. Speed melts lego and breaks gears. I know cos I've added a 540 motor to lego and it makes lego go veryfast for a short while, or you can slow it down and not melt stuff, but then you have so much torque it rips teeth offgears! the dude has done an awesome job.
