    There were recipes earlier for instant idlis but none which allowed fermentation. Fermentation gives you probiotics for the gut and this makes idli v.healthy.Now your recipe addresses both issues superbly.I'm so thankful to you.God bless you with many more healthy years for such creative 🙏🙏

    I have made healthy Ada dosa mix in the same manner with all the pulses(thoor dal,urud dal,peas dal,channadal,moong dal,idli rice and poha all in equal quantity ,powdered dry with a few dried red chillies and hing.Salt to taste. I did not even roast the ingredients. Soak the powder for 3to 4hrs and use to make dosas)It definitely is useful for NRIs.

    Gita Ma'am...this is just so amazing... tried this recipe and prepared the premix and the batter yesterday...today I made and idlis came out super soft ... had I known the recipe before I would have prepared and sent it to my son who was then doing his engineering from Pondicherry University...he used to get frustrated with the hostel and mess food. I used to make other podi mixes and send him so that he can make rice and have it, he loves idlis but I did not know this recipe then. But now that I have tried this, I will definitely recommend people to try this. Thank you

    Thank you so much Ma'm for sharing this recipe. I tried out just the way you have said and the idlis turned out too good. it's such a convenient and functional recipe. till now I have always made idlis with readymade dry mixes as I found it difficult making fresh home made batter each time. Now, you have actually made it so simple to make idlis without having to add soda, eno or even curd as we may not have these ingredients at home always. i can prepare the required quantity of premix in advance and all we need is a little bit of planning and time for fermenting. Thank you so much once again for making such thoughtful videos....it really helps.

    Thank you for the recipe. For those skeptical, one doesn’t need to roast a thing or buy anything fancy. It’s just rice and polished black gram whole or halves pulses. You can grind the entire thing in coffee grinder and mix in water - ferment over 2 days- ready to go. Had these in India on trip & occasionally make it at home🙂 Use silicone iddli liners to make life more easier.

    Hi Gita madam, I've made this premix yesterday and today made idlies of it. Wow I got soft and spongy idlies. It was llike traditionally made idlies. My mother in law was asking me, 'nee maavu ye araikalaiye, epdi idly panne??' and also said it was too good. I can understand that you've tested/researched a lot before uploading the video. I made small quantity for the first time for testing even though after reading the positive comments. Next im going to do large batch and would like to give some to my mother as she couldn't use grinder nowdays. Hope she will be happy. Thanks a lot 🙏😊

    Thank you so much for making this! this is so simple, I am going on vacation with some friends in the winter we are renting a cabin on the lake and I wanted to make them idli to try. I was not sure how to make it since I won't have access to wet stone grinder and other things, but your recipe is so simple I will be able to show them how wonderful idli's are! thank you!

    Thank you ma'am 🙏 it worked out just fine. I put methi seeds powder as well since my Mom used to put it in the batter (which you too have added in the dosa premix! ) The idli rawa is rather coarsely ground so might be grinding it a little would make it better. But thank you very much. My old father still liked it 🙏.

    I have learned so much from this channel. You must have seen the "instant" premix idli recipes. These include soda and curd. What is your opinion about these? I noticed that you mentioned that yours doesn't use soda. Is that because of ease to make with limited ingredients? Or do you find it to negatively affect the outcome? I have only ever made idli in the traditional way, and I want to try premix.

    • @GitasKitchen
      @GitasKitchen  2 года назад +2

      Soda is required for typical instant mix. Im our premix the ingredients are pre made but we ferment it naturally too
