Jake, Willie is a wonderful human being…the best. But he is following in the footsteps of 5 yr New Orleans head coaches Byron Scott, Monty Williams & Alvin Gentry, all with losing records after 5 years. The talent was always there, but the coaching sucked.
Willie has a winning record +8 after 3 seasons, and has had some devastating injuries to key players. But this was the year he was supposed to do big things.
It’s not about being swept by OKC minus Z. It’s about blowing 18-20 double digit leads in the 4th quarter and totally falling apart in the last 5 minutes of at least a dozen games we should have won!! In most of these games Zion played.
What makes anyone believe anything will be different with different players or assistant coaches? After the first 6-7 losses in crunch time when it looked like no one on the court knew what we were doing, you would think he would have made major adjustments to eliminate the no ball movement, no set plays and general chaos that was happening over & over & over again. But No! The Calvary never showed up! In two weeks we went from being in 5th place, to 6th, to 7th & eventually 8th. I don’t believe we could have beaten OKC in that series with aperfectly healthy BI AND Zion!! It won’t change!
It’s time for Willie to go. Do not keep him for two more years like we did with the other 3 five year head coaches, and look back and kick ourselves!
The Brutal West will only get stronger next year. We need a coach who can navigate through this mine field the next few years while Zion is still here. If we don’t get the kind of coach that can win now, Zion will go the way of Chris Paul, AD, Jrue Holiday and several others who played at ALL STAR LEVELS for other teams for years!!

Lot of talent, but beyond that. Josh brings passoin with him at all times. Pelicans failed this year because winning was not a big enough deal to several key players.
Not sure why some want BI gone. He was not 100% in the playoff this year after being "the guy" the last two years without Zion. I am more willing to part with CJ. He is a streaking shooter and a defensive liability. I am willing to give Harkins a shot at CJ's spot. Also, don't think Trey is ready. Another streaky 3 point shooter who needs better judgement in his shot selection ( not so many 30 - 40 footers). Also need to development a pull up in the lane and learn he can't dunk on everyone.

Pelicans had some of their best offensive games this season whether it be made three or total points. Didn’t see any of that the season before and I never expect someone (player or staff) to come in and turn a team around in one season in some area

I have always thought Trajan was great, I was thrilled when he was hired. Just to pose the question would the Pelicans ever consider letting Griff go to promote Trajan and make him the main man? No idea if that’s tenable or a good idea at all, and I do like Graham. Just curious and wanted to see others opinions.

I’m sure OKC was scared of Trey Murphy & CJ creating shots for others. It’s easy to key on one player when you know others can’t create for there self or teammates. This was what the Zion fans been waiting for, any little negative thing they can run with about ingram to get the fanbase behind there obsession with trading ingram so Zion can “feel like its his team” what a spoiled baby. They still mad because Ingram got the team in the playoffs when Zion missed an entire season and then lead them to a win against Sacramento to get in the playoffs again after Zion couldn’t even finish one playin game. Two playoff appearances from the rest of the team with ingram on a still recovering knee while Zion has no playoff appearances and missed the playoffs with 2 hamstring injuries because he too fat and undisciplined. How you lose 30 pounds and still listed at 286 at 6’6😂 notice how the amount of weight keeps going down the more the myth of his so called incredible season gets bigger. It was first reported he had to lose 30 something pounds in the middle of the season now it’s in the 20’s . He supposedly had so much of a great season than ingram but only averaged 3 more points than Ingram this season. The other stats are even. Then they lied and said ingram takes more shots than zion but Zion averaged 20 shots per game and ingram averaged 12 and led the team in assists. Zion played 70 regular season games and one play in game for a total of 71. Ingram with an actual injury plyed 64 regular season games 2 play in games and 4 playoff games for a total of 70 games so why tf did Zion miss 12 regular season games if he wasn’t injured. Ingram missed 12 due to injury 2 to flu or covid symptoms and the others to rest ..Make it make sense.

Fans just don’t get it!! This is the first time Willie had his players for majority of the year and had the third best record in franchise history and all we talk about is furring the coach and trading the second best player!! This is what bad organizations do. You should continue to build around your core players and let Willie continue to develop. Great organization don’t fire coaches every 2 to 3 years! If they listen to you unreasonable fans, they will continue to be a bad organization and have a revolving door!!!
100%. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to retain the core. I vote to just change the C and keep the STARTING core of Trey BI Herb Zion. If we make a big trade involving BI, we're more than likely going to be worse next year, comparatively in the West.
Maybe we'll get lucky with a agile C draft pick. Then we can focus on building out the bench.
Just fire Willie Green, his style of coaching is negative.
