you can definitely reach edge of galaxy in no mans sky, tho its kinda easier to go center than edge, due to having clear marker for center and distance shown and not much in a way to determine how far you are from edge. tho distance to edge from usual player starting location is closer (visually)
To be fair, No Man's Sky has a big solar system selection map but when you goto a different one it gives a "warp jump" loading screen and you don't really go anywhere, the planets and stuff just gets replaced with different ones based on a math formula. You never actually move anywhere. There is a sky box and you can't manually fly out to a different system.

@@Mystalo there is no multiple universes in NMS, atleast not gameplay wise , unless we talking about lore. tho there are 255 galaxies to visit.
