The Tru Drone team headed out to Redlands, CA, where we explored the remnants of the Lockheed Propulsion Company. Though it existed for only a short while, it played an important role in America's Cold War efforts. This included working on the following:
    - Third stage of the Vanguard Rocket
    - Emergency escape motors for the Mercury Program
    - Emergency escape motors and for Saturn V
    - Putting fuel into rocket motors for Explorer missions
    - Second stage of Nike Zeus missiles

It's crazy how you fly cinematic drones through those gaps. I can understand someone bridging those gaps with fpv drones because you can pretty much crash those as many times as you want. But with cinematic drones it's usually one and done

IT is amazing the kind of history that is so neglected and degraded by the passage of time. Nature reclaiming its property and where there is decayed canvas so too come the urban artists tagging their visuals everywhere...i liked this a lot a history lesson and an adventure rolled into one grand drone tour...altogether fitting I do believe...

Whoa, I've been so intrigued by drone footage, especially how they allow you to not only capture such pristine footage but at angles that give it such a more powerful emotional response. When I see Cold War I instantly rhink Russia, or the artist formerly known as. I was almost assuming the Lockheed facilities to be in some cold, dank dilapidated Russian territory, go figure. But the dry open environment is much more inviting.
It just looks so unassuming the insides just seem like an old abandoned warehouse or something. I was wondering about the thick walls and thin roof. I guess they were more concerned about protecting assets than lives it seems. Mind blowing.

This was a very fun one to learn about. So much history at this place. They used to build the 3rd stage of the vanguard rockets. The Vanguard 1 satellite and the 3rd stage motor that took it up there are still in orbit. Projected to stay in orbit for at least 200 more years. Meanwhile all the other satellites from that era (sputnik 1, sputnik 2, explorer 1) have all fallen back to Earth long ago

    • @paullavigne5299
