This video will be super helpful when I recreate the groups at the start of Shadowlands. The item variation part is super appreciated, as most armor/weapon professions have variations on their created gear. Setup really is the most time-consuming part. So glad it's gotten more streamlined.

Great video, this makes me want to actually go hard with TSM. I've only used it as a basic way of selling items in my bags not really trying to make a lot of gold. It is amazing how powerful this addon can be in really making gold.
It certainly has a lot of layers depending on how deep you want to go.

It would be amazing if they loaded a default profile for whatever expansion we're currently in, for things like mats etc just basic stuff. This addon is so complicated to setup its insane
It is complicated but therein lies the power.
@@SamadanPlaysWoW When buying from auction house as instructed by the gather section is there something we must check, for example if the prices went up since the last tsm scan. We could otherwise be buying mats that lead to no profit.

I know you don't want to make the videos too long, but you do tend to speed through some of the important parts, for example around 14:00 you've speeded up the video and you're selecting and choosing options like mad. If this is for beginners, maybe a little less haste, especially as the window text is fairly small, even on a PC. :)

If anyone is struggling with creating sub groups like i was, at 1:21 he makes a new group within the items group, this allows you to divide up everything in that group.

The main series is for now and into Shadowlands. I share my pastebins over on my patreon, that way I can keep them up to date including into Shadowlands.

very informative for such a short time video! you think you can cover shopping scan for mats and max auction price on another video ! I cant seem to get a representative price string for mats and often lose on some big stock deals! thanks for putting the time and effort for us plebs!

A quick reminder: The 'Ignore Item Variations' checkbox only affects items as you are adding them to a group. Checking or unchecking the checkbox after adding items makes no difference to the items if they are already in the group!

I absolutely love this series thus far!!! I have to ask how do you get the sale rate to show up in the reports area? I can see them on the tooltip but not in the reports screen. There's a column for the sale rate, but no numbers. Thanks again!
That's strange, I'm not sure why. If it wasnt in both I'd think you didn't have data for your realm. If it's not in reports, then my thought is something to do with your characters and their professions. Perhaps ask in the woweconomy discord?
I'm newish to WoW and like crafting but have only scratched the surface of vanilla.

Hi there, first of all, let me say thank you for all your hard work with the videos, I have learned so much from watching and following along.
I wonder if you could please help me with something?
I am trying to create a string in one of the operations that take into account the auction house fees each time you relist an item.
The reason is that I'm trying to avoid relisting items that could have perhaps been vendered or disenchanted but I have missed when to stop listing them.
For example, if something has a sale price of 500g with A/H costs 50g then it is worth listing it 9 times. But if something has a sale price of 250g with A/H costs of 78g 55s 22c then it takes a while to work out when to stop relisting and cut your losses.
I hope I've explained enough and you understand what I mean and most of all can help lol.
Please keep up the good work because I have learned so much and look forward to more of your gold making series.

Rather than use a string, I would roughly ball-park the figure and use max expires in the posting operation to stop it posting after a certain number of times. Then I'd split my groups into different brackets of auctioning fees.

One question though, when i reached the step to buy required mats from AH it does not pop the window to buy all the required materials, but instead i am buying each stock manually. Any idea what i am doing wrong?

Not for 4.10 specifically, but my previous tsm one works and nothing has changed since then.
Hi Samadan! great vid. Quick question. Is there a way to filter out sale rates below a certain rate i.e. I dont want to craft anything below 0.10? Also I followed the steps for crafting groups. I placed them on the AH and clicked restock again, and it's telling me to restock items that are unsold on the AH. thanks
I usually make different groups based on sale rate and change my quantity in each group as sale rate doesn't change that much. When you post items on the AH, make sure you "look" at the Auctioning tab after, so TSM can see and register they have been posted.

Hi Samadan, love your videos. I've been learning a lot and this week i've managed to profit nearly 400k gold just from buying mats and producing goods in BFA content so thank you! I have a question though, some materials have hiked on my server up to 200% of their smartavgbuy, avgbuy value, my crafting isn't adjusting to suit the value that I'm actually able to source them at. Is there a way to make my crafting value adjust based on whether the smartavg buy is relevant or if i need to buy from the AH if i have no stock?
Smartavgbuy is tricky in situations like this. You could buy the materials little and often and keep an overstock to help the smartavgbuy price stay current. Another way would be to average smartavgbuy and DBMarket in your mat price settings.

It is a great tutorial but i ran into a problem, its been a while since i last was doing anything with TSM, is there a way today to incorporate the sellrate into the min profit amount or a workaround? I was able to get this stuff in the restock operations back then, i also remember i had one quite long string back in bfa that was able to set different profit margins for different sellrates but i sadly lost it :( I made it myself back then and your videos helped me out a lot to get my brutosaurus back then, so i thought i'd might ask here ^^'
Is this up to date for shadowlands or will there be loads of new groups etc to add/set up?
Tsm will pick up whatever you have learned including Shadowlands professions.
Thanks for the video :) I've noticed that the estimated crafting cost that TSM provides on the crafting queue is often slightly too low and I end up without enough gold to craft everything. Is there a way around this?
I'd look into your material prices for the items you want to craft. TSM is likely getting them from old data on the AH. Prices are very unstable right now, so it may well be better to do some manually.
@@SamadanPlaysWoW I'll be doing this from now on, thanks :) Hopefully later into the expansion prices will settle and the crafting queue will be safe to use again, it's dangerously convenient haha
I found that if you force TSM to do a AH scan with the command /tsm scan you get up-to-date prices. After that scan, then I do my crafting scan.

I've run into a problem. I have set a mailing group so that all of my leather from my main goes to my leatherworker. I also want that leather to be in a crafting group, but it seems like one item cannot exist in two different groups at the same time? They're under different parent as well but it doesn't seem to make a difference :/
That's correct, an item can only be in one group. You can use a different profile per character and do different things that way per character.

Do you recommend creating a group like this or prefer to create 1 from scratch? Saw your inscription guide and it seems you did everything manually there.
I like to do both depending on the situation and how evolved the profession is on that character.
could use a video about custom material prices, for instance Expulsom, how to set it up..

With 4.10 I only need one crafting operation, a dynamic from one of WTBGold's TSM 4.10 videos:
Max restock quantity:
ifgt(dbregionsoldperday,100,200,ifgt(dbregionsoldperday,10,20,1))
min profit amount:
ifgt(dbregionsoldperday,100,1g,ifgt(dbregionsoldperday,10,100G+10%crafting,1000g+20%crafting))
then a single group per duration(12/24/48) with this dynamic post cap:
ifgt(dbregionsoldperday,100,200,ifgt(dbregionsoldperday,10,20,1))
Those ones from Reckles are certainly good. I kept these deliberately simple for now to help better understand for beginners.
Hi Samadan, I'm new to using TSM and this guide seems great, however my version of TSM doesn't have any of the costs nor the sale rates populated. Do you know why this could be?
It could be that the app has not downloaded your realms AH data. You need to tell TSM what realm you play on when you sign into your account on their website.

For restocking, does TSM consider stock on your bank toon, or just the toon you’re crafting on? I use a lv 1 to sell all my stuff.
It will account for all of your characters/AH.
Yes, check your tooltip to see where something might be hidden in a forgotten guild bank. I've done that plenty of times!
any chance you would share imports of your main groups that we could modify or is it better to just manually make the groups as you start using tsm?
I have all my groups over on Patreon, link is in the description. Making from scratch is certainly useful, it helps the learning process.

hey man! thanks for all of ur videos, they have helped me a lot. i have 1 question regarding min profit on crafting operations. im using this one right now
20% crafting+min(bsmarkfirst,jcmarkfirst)/ 0.95 + 60% first(vendorsell, 1s)
but even tho i thas worked so far, i'm thinking it might be wrong as it only acounting for a 20% profit on the item crafting cost right? and adding the cost of the custom sources i have there. so my profit would be just those 20% of the item. so if i want for those custom sources to also give a 20% profit, it should be like this?

also does this mean if the item was lets say, 100g and those custom ones were also 100g, it will only que them up for restocking if the profit was higher than lets say 240g there right? been thinking about this all day lol. i did use the first example since the start of SL and i've made a lot of gold, but as i was making my 262-233 groups i saw that and im not so sure if it was the right set up. anyways, thanks for all man!

How does the profession group 'auto-create' 4.10 handle materials that supply multiple professions? Do herbs show up under both alchemy and inscription?
I've not tested it but would imagine they all go in the same material section.

It tells me to buy "Crystallized Water" for a high Price even when Eternal Water) 1 Eternal Water = 10 Crystallized Water) is cheaper. ive done severl things to fix it but it just wont work. matPrice(i:0000)*10 and so on. nothing works :( Please help me :D
Have you tried changing the order of sources in the gathering tab of your profession? Try making the Craft (Profitable) a higher priority.
Does anyone know if these operations can work for Magic Wands? Just for a small vendor flip but when I press "Restock Selected Groups" nothing happens. I created an operation the same way but put the upper limit to 20 so that I can mass craft.
If you are looking to vendor flip them, I wouldn't necessarily use a crafting operation but just craft them manually.
Is there a way to disable/hide the 'Crafting Queue' pane in the crafting window?
You can't disable it, but you can resize it.
Would love your help on how to word a crafting operation where I only want to craft if the region sale rate is over 0.5.
I tend to split my groups by sale rate first and then assign crafting operations.
@@SamadanPlaysWoW Oh that is clever. Don't you then spend a lot of time making sure where you have put the item is still relevant to that group?
So do you have to manually check the sale rate then put it into a group or is there a way to automate this in tsm so it only crafts above a certain sale rate?
im having problems with adding the other 3 bfa ores to the bfa ore tab ie storm, plat and monel ores also somethings i got in my blacksmithing list are not showing up in the tsm parent items list
Could it be they are in another group? Hovering over an item shows which group it is assigned to if you have it turned on in the tooltip settings.
Quick question about the Material Cost Method, maybe I'm missing something.
If I spend all the materials for the thing I'm crafting. Won't SmartAvgBuy then be invalid when it's time to post the item?
To keep it simple:
Let's say I want to make Iron Bars.
In the past, I've bought 1000 Iron Ores for 1g each (Which I no longer posses). But this time I buy 20 Iron Ores for 3 gold each. Before I turn them to Iron Bars that would make SmartAvgBuy 3g. Once they've been converted into Iron Bars and I'm ready to post them SmartAvgBuy would no longer be valid and default to avgbuy. Which would result in a crafting cost of around 1,03 gold even though it really is 3 gold?
Am I approaching this the wrong way?
That would be correct, that's why I always like to have more materials in stock more than I need to act as a buffer.
I also seem to have an issue with some gear not showing profit at all even tough it has crafting cost. I assume this is because the items are not currently on the ah (300-340 tailoring things on shadowsong eu), is there a way around this?

Doing the selling operation, if I have my min operation as " max(110% crafting, 50% dbmarket, 40% dbregionmarketavg) " tsm wont sell for less than what it cost to make the item right?

I would do small specific ones in smaller groups which the changes in the ah.
i would like to ask , Crafting Cost is always WRONG , i use the same formula u use on (Crafting under settings) for example: i want to craft a glyph that cost approximately 618g56s if i buy mats from AH but . on the Profession tap it says Crafting cost is 515g 82s 75c, and that always ruin my Profit Calculation,
also 2nd question : the Restock option does it count how many i have on my bags ? coz i see when i do restock it add all glyphs to the queue ( 5 of each ) doesn't consider how many on my bags
It could be picking up the crafting cost from other sources if it's cheaper. You could try setting yours to just smartavgbuy to test it based on what you bought. As for restocking, TSM will take into account your bags, bank and guild bank. Sometimes you will need to visit each including the AH so tsm has an up to date picture of where everything is.
none of my proffessions are profitable since the ah merge,i reset tsm and copy the strings but still only possibly 2 items are with profit of like 7s, which isnt worth the hassle buying everything from the ah.when i can simply tank a call to arms for 900g? am i missing something

Yes it would. Although I would personally change avgBuy to smartAvgBuy as that I find is more accurate based on what I bought recently. Also, what are you doing with the blues? Scrapping or disenchanting?

i have a question... is there any way to tell tsm to post the item at my dbminbuyout. since if im creating an operation, to only craft profitiable.? Because, My confusson is in 2 scenarios. what happened if when i post the itme is way higher than minbuyout?... probably is not going to sell... and the other is.. tsm alway avoid to undercut any sale? what i mean is if the cost of the item was 50, the highest price with my tsm configuration will post it at 90g but the minbuout is at 100g? tath would be possible?
min buyout is the lowest price since last api scan and can wildly vary which is why I don't recommend using it. I think in your example I'd increase the max operation to be greater than 100g so it would allow for the minbuyout being higher.
How can I import individual items into the group I want. With the update it only copies groups over from the TSM item site and pulls it all as an unnamed group. Thanks
You can search for individual items in the base group and add them from there. It's really handy!

I have one huge problem:
Im using thé default opérations.
So when tsm triés to suggest to me Which crafts are profitable, it uses thé dbmarket value to calculate thé crafting costs. But when thé dbminbuyout ist much higher, i dont make any profit. Dont know how i should Adress this.
For crafting min profit I'm allways using max(10% crafting,100g). There is so many cheap transmogs on my realm and I think crafting something worth e.g. 5g is not worth my time :D
I use similar with enchants. My exception is for shirts, I just like making them :)
I cant put 1 timen in 2 different groups. when i do a Base serch it dosent pop up
That's correct, only one item per group, but you can have multiple operations or multiple profiles.
Hello everyone, does anyone know how to create a shopping operation which will only display items above a certain dbregionsalerate? I tried ifgte(dbregionsalerate, 1.00) - It is a valid string but it doesnt produce the desired result!

That's fair enough. Many people use TSM just for the tooltip of market info.

It could be that tsm doesn't have enough data? Sale rate is only recorded through tsm users.

my problem is that i cant see the "crafting cost, ranks in tsm crafting menu nor the profit" {which was the reason for me to click this video}, therefor the crafting queue only has about 1 item, even the task list didnt have the "buy option when i had the vendor menu open.
Something doesn't seem right if you have none of those options. Has TSM got AH data for your realm?

after watching the video for like 5 times on the differences between smart avgbuy and just avg buy I still don't understand the differences
Say over the course of an expansion you bought 10,000 tidespray linen with an average price of 10g (it was really expensive at the start). That's your avgBuy price.
Now, you've used all that linen up and you buy another 100 for 1g each. Your avgBuy price will go down a little bit, your smartAvgBuy price will be 1g because it's based on how many you have on you right now.

Man TSM is just amazing but the only thing I'm stuck on are the Operations. My brain just doesnt want to understand it.
Operations are the instructions of what to do with the items. They can take a while to get used to. When I first started, I just used a auctioning operation and manually crafted etc. until I was comfortable and then built from there.

Look to how you're getting materials and see if you can get them cheaper.
I wish i made this much profit in shadowlands too :(
There are niches in Shadowlands, just maybe hard to find on some servers.

This is quite a bit of info and to be truthful it would have been better to scale this down to a beginner level instead. You start the video as "How to get started using TSM with professions". So instead of crafting gear that looks expensive with expensive mats, make a video that tells me how to make something basic like healing potions and how to go about selling them. I am more confused by this video than others I watched so far. [Edit: after digging I found you made a series of let's play. Perhaps what I am looking for is there instead]

You talk way to fast
How much slower would be ideal? Is it the speed of the speech or the timing of the pauses inbetween?
Slow down you speech by 10-20%, and take 2-3 secs pauses. Also when you are sorting groups the video is fast forwarded. It explains the freatures of TSM but not helpful as a tutorial. Overall the video feels like one long run on sentence. Thank you for making the video however, keep them coming

I have a item group for a gear and a operation linked to it but the Restock Selected Group button simply won't work, I tried everything I could to fix it and after a lot of stress I gave up, do you know anyone who faced the same problem and managed to fix it?
