I moved to Chattanooga 25 years ago from Atlanta. It’s the longest I’ve ever lived in one place. The people are nice. The cost of living is low. The climate is decent. The traffic is manageable. The location is convenient to other state attractions. It’s true about the pollen in Spring and Autumn. I never had allergies until I moved here. Unfortunately I fell into the pattern of not taking advantage of the local activities the longer I’ve lived here. I usually only take tours of what is going on here when friends are visiting. And a few have moved here as a result of what is offered. All in all, it’s a pleasant place to live.
I been here since 2020, moved away from Memphis, thats where im from but I do no looking back lol, chatt feels more alive, relaxed, mountains make the views look pretty af, no regrets being here fasho
I think it's worth noting that while Chattanooga proper has 180k, the metro area has over 550k, many of whom travel through Chattanooga to commute, so the interstates can get fairly congested at peak hours. The city is laid out extremely well though and is very walkable so traffic is almost never an issue there, as you said. It's significantly better to drive in than Huntsville, which is only slightly larger.
I come from Brazil, I lived in Florida for 5 years, 1 year in Minnesota for work and I don't want to go back to the madness of Florida, I'll be arriving in Chatdanoga on June 14th! I hope I made the right choice! I have a job interview at volkswagen and my wife is starting amazon sales, in the near future we want to live entirely from amazon, and the location of Chattanoga helps us in this regard!
Grew up here and I remember a much, much smaller Chattanooga. I wish they would stop growing outwards but I also love seeing it. It's true that we have all 4 seasons, usually all on the same day but recently, some of the seasons have been just passing through (looking at you Spring). I left for the service when I was young and after 20 years of traveling the World, I never found anyplace to compare to here and couldn't wait to move back. If you're thinking about moving here, what are you waiting for? Pull the trigger and come on down!
A hidden treasure i have lived in California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, Massachusetts, Louisiana. I would not trade Chattanooga area for all of them. Don't have people laying on top of each other great economy, lowest electric bills I have ever paid anywhere, low property taxes, location is really hard to explain unless u have lived there. I found in Chattanooga anything i need right here. Incredible sports city, Why anyone would not want to live in Chattanooga area is beyond me. The water access is off the charts local people don't realize how fortunate we have it here with the incredible abundance of fresh water. Have interstate 75 runs right thru here, Tennessee River runs thru here. Main most important thing of all is the people that live here. By far the best I have ever been around hard working honest good people. The humidity is bad up side of that is the abundance of water that is what people don't understand. I can stand few months of high humidity for the abundance of incredible water sources. Fall is unreal love football really good HS football here. UTC here, Vols up the road. This area is by far the best place I have ever lived worked in my life. Hope to God never have to leave.
I lived there for basically 2 years when me and my ex wife were still together. I will always have a special place in my heart for Chattanooga. I also love the fishing in chickamauga. Overall I miss is and love it. The only thing I don’t miss is all the idiots that can’t drive on I75 and 24

That was an awesome most excellent video making me want to visit with the idea of maybe moving to Chattanooga. I have two questions though, what options does the city have as far as health food and supplement stores and do the lakes and rivers in the area have alligators ? Thanks for your response as I will come see you when I eventually go there.
Chattanooga is inheriting many of the problems that occur with large scale growth. Housing, and other costs, are more expensive, traffic and crime have gotten worse, homelessness is an increasing issue and everything is just more crowded.
In criticizing a given city "X", one has to compare that city with another place. There simply doesn't exist any place on earth that is perfect in every way.... AND that is inexpensive. There are ALWAYS tradeoffs.
I live in Illinois about 2 hrs west of Chicago ( cornfield area/small town 850 people ) as I am not a city type person-lol,......is there such areas near Chattanooga???
Moved from Miami but I’ve lived all over the country and in South American for a little bit. Winter is about 3 months long but it’s only cloudy maybe 50% of the time

If you're from Memphis? Damn near anywhere else should feel like a Utopia for you lol. Only worse places crime wise would be hard-core, bleak places in the rust belt like Gary, IN or Camden, NJ
I could tell you weren't originally from here. Not by your accent but by the fact you barely let a Chatt'nooga slip. Not pronouncing the second A is usually a sure sign. I only noticed that once out of all the times you said Chattanooga though so that's excellent for someone who didn't grow up here. Nice video.

@@michaellorenzen8200 we have a small town nearby named Whitwell. Pronouncing the way it's spelled is a sure sign you aren't from there. There are two pronunciations by locals depending mostly on what part of town they're from. The most common is Whut-wool and the other sounds like they are drawing out the word wool and barely making it two syllables. We often joke when something there makes the local news and the reporter very carefully says "Today in Whit-well..." we laugh and say just think of all the people who live there saying "The same thing happened in Whutwool but you don't see that on the news!"
