Jimmy was all about allot more than just a few good guitar riffs. He composed and created the whole set up. And created a great if not the greatest rock band ever seen on this planet. All these years in and we still are in awe of this great band. That's why for me you can compare him to Mozart. Because this music and this band will be remembered in years to come and for evermore.
Ye me to Saturday 24th block DD N 31, didn't see ya, but what a great night, I managed to blag my way in the previous Saturday 1/2 way through the night for free. Also saw them at Knedworth. The greatest band of all time.
That’s so cool. My dad saw them at EC on the 17th and kept the ticket. I met jimmy in 2004 and he signed it, it was just amazing. Nearly 30 years later.
Just now seeing this in 2019.. How wonderful❣️ Thank you Jimmy for your excellent talent & also at such a young age when you think about it..put together 3 other beyond talented musicians & explode as Led Zeppelin! Can you imagine his vaults? Boggles the mind🔥
what a complete pair of gentlemen - love mr walker for his knowledge and appreciation of rock music in general and also to mr. page for his enthusiasm for recording, music and his devotion to the legacy of led zep
SW, TRB & TGILSGLBWH were written in the studio at the BBC when they were recorded...Wow! While Sunshine Woman may be just ok or pretty good, the other 2 are amazing and all 3 are different and written there, on the spot...Who else did stuff like that? Who else could...
Stairway to Heaven on the sessions is the best live version I have ever heard, and RP vocals on Since I've Been Loving You is truly amazing and so emotional
Sick Boy are you comparing Mozart tu jimmy page. Are you serious, page made some good riffs but compare him to a universal composer it’s over exaggerated
I know! He said he was looking into touring this year, but I think the whole "court case" thing got in the way. Here's to hoping for an early 2017 tour!!
us old folks that were kids when the Zeppelin hit took for granted how great they were(and how much we'd miss them)and the youngsters that were born after Zeppelin's heyday are frustrated by how little compared to other bands/performers of Zeppelin recordings there are. It's all a testament of how unique and great LED ZEPPELIN WERE.
he said in 2014 " i might pick up the guitar again next year maybe sooner", then in 2015 he says" I'm definitely playing the guitar again could be at the end of the year or maybe sooner, new material is on the way" then he says it again" I'm pretty sure I'm on the guitar again in 2017 could be before that well see"
What happened to the videos of the BBC sessions? I saw them on a pirate DVD several years ago and they are fantastic. Cannot find the program any longer anywhere. Why are they not officially released?
I luv all three surviving Zeps, and Jason. I'm amazed that Jimmy looks so youthful. He's 4 years older than Percy, and supposedly dabbled in hard drugs, but these days he looks way younger than the Grey God. JPJ is also holding his own in the race against father time. In 2012 at the Kennedy Center Honors, Percy looked very old; might it be the black country cider? Maybe Jimmy has a magick moisturizer, or.....a portrait in the attic. 🤔😂🎶💙🎶
I think thats Peter Drummond, appeared on lots of 70s in concerts, for which I have uploaded a few. I have Zep BBC recordings (not from CD) I will upload soon.
''a brand new video'' anyone got a link? Denis :-), our forum Etiquette applies, rules are rules (no) is not acceptable..............anyone what was the video?
Help, anyone. I had BBC sessions (I cop to it) on vinyl bootleg years ago. What new tracks are available - Page alludes to them...and what is the exact name of the release so I can buy it.
Allan, it is the newly released "BBC Complete Sessions" which came out on 16 Sep 16. According to ledzeppelin.com/news it's available in CD, LP, Download or Super Deluxe Box Set. It's a remastered and expanded set.
I had a similar boot as well as the official BBC version from 20 years ago. For this 2016 version, It appears that, mostly, there are some " new " ( unheard ) versions of familiar songs. But the main thing is the MASSIVE improvement to the sound quality. My GAWD. . . the band sounds even more visceral on all three discs, if that were all possible. New tracks are an extended version of " White Summer " and the Rhythm And Blues Session version of " Sunshine Woman. " I don't remember " That's The Way " and " Going To California " ever in boot form before so those have to be new, so to speak. Most of the Paris Cinema, London 1971 session is here which contain a few Zoso tracks 8 months before official release ( " Black Dog, " " Stairway To Heaven " and " Going To California ". Overall, I think you'll love it. It's LOUD, even in mono. But this release has made me go back and really listen to in concert Led Zeppelin. Enjoy it!
thanks messrs. waller and mccain. I'll have to pick it up. my mom was a prof at the university of washington and university music, a place run by assholes had righteous zep boots. my mom surprisingly (she was STRICT) agreed to buy me some; i'd reimburse. as she was looking through bins for the one i wanted (mudslide?) the FBI came in and busted the store. and she a prof! she said she relaxed and VERY, very slowly melted out of the store. she said the FBI scowled at her; she was sure they saw she was perusing the boots which probably isn't actionable. needless to say, she didn't try again LOL :)
Jimmy: You must be a direct relative of Apollo. Apollo is the son of Leto (his mother) 120 CE (Before the Common Era [BCE]). Dating back, obviously, some number of years [2137 years, circa], music has come a great distance. Apollo did not really know a great deal about the direction in which formal music scores (writings) would tally-up. However Apollo is held to be accountable for music (Apollo "stands on record" as the first known GOD of music) ... Yet, hardly can it be expected that Apollo is due to be held responcible for your enormous display of music. There are million, of people who stand witness to your musical wizzardry. Untold of millions of Legitiment Records have been lodged and distributed, as an exhibit of your actions. It is impossible to think someone would believe I was not aware of your significants and participation in such alleged music acts. You have most likely not heard the last of this.
Jimmy sounds more working class now than he did as a young man ... uh? saw him chatting in the 50s early 60s on TV and he's well posh let's start a Jimmy is dead rumour, play their records backwards and all will be revealed etc etc (died in '66 or something)
I'll just wait at the supermarket near his house until I see him pop around the corner, at that point I would overthink what I was gonna say and just freeze. Probably give him a hug or something
This guy never does anything.....all he does is talk about the past. Crazy to see such a talented (well, used to be) artist live in the past. Sad really
Of course I'm jealous of the charmed life this guy has led!! But I'm equally as jealous of Iggy Pop, and MC5, and Henry Rollins too. Artists that represent persistence and conviction. If Jimmy Page and the other guys in Zeppelin did not make it right outta the gate...as they did, would they have had the intestinal fortitude to keep going?? I doubt it. They're overrated thieves, which have had their asses kissed for 50 years over marginal material, most of which...they stole.
No, they did not steal most of their material. For your education, please read the replies to the comment just above yours. Craig Wiggins explains it much better than most. They were and are brilliant musicians. They worked hard (they played hard too, as so many puritanical types love to point out). Before the age of 25, all four of these guys were very successful, and they kept it going for over ten years. Give credit where credit is due. And you call them overrrated? Judging by the continuing interest and enthusiasm for Led Zeppelin, I’d say you’re dead wrong, but that’s an opinion, let’s just say apparently, according to the numbers, most people who know of them disagree with you. The announcement about the lottery for tickets to the 02 show in 2007 not only busted the server due to the huge numbers of hits, but there were something like 20 million entries for tickets to that show. That’s 20-million folks, at least, who wholeheartedly disagree with you. Led Zeppelin’s legacy is well secured.
Everyone's like "Jimmy should play concerts", but considering how he lived in the 70s, lets just appreciate how Jimmy is still with us
Magrumpa4 When I saw him live 69, he was so thin that I did not recognize him.
Magrumpa4 he turns 75 in 2 weeks
Scott Netter 80s and 90s too!
its realy nice too see jimmy looking real good
Such a delightful, articulate man. Thank God he's still with us.
Janine Hosseini Soon he will be with God, who will probably ask for his autograph.
So he can talk about the past, right?
@@michaeltw1000 So he can give input on the music, work on it's remastering as the true producer, and continue to enjoy his life.
I find that more often than not, the masters of rock are extremely intelligent. Jimmy is that.
Jimmy and Robert. Very intelligent..

Best interview ever. Hats off, Respect for the interviewer..
Jimmy Page is a real diamond.
My hero. Saw them live - 24.05.75 in Earl's Court. Still got the ticket - £2.50
Ye me to Saturday 24th block DD N 31, didn't see ya, but what a great night, I managed to blag my way in the previous Saturday 1/2 way through the night for free. Also saw them at Knedworth. The greatest band of all time.
He is also my hero, by chance my young lad James looks like a little Jimmy Page and loves Led Zeppelin, look him up on RUclips jameszosoo2
M Fox the experience is priceless, WOW
That’s so cool. My dad saw them at EC on the 17th and kept the ticket. I met jimmy in 2004 and he signed it, it was just amazing. Nearly 30 years later.
I was at Earls Court on the 18th May 1975 when the interviewer on this vid (Johnnie Walker) introduced the band. Still got the programme.
Led Zep are still and were the greatest rock band in the Universe. Jimmy was the mastermind throughout zeppelins genius
Just pure class. The best! Thank You
What a legend
Simply the creator and leader of the greatest rock band of all time.

Jimmy Page is awesome 👍❤️. BB king played through his 80s with Diabetes, it's not impossible. But we have the music to listen,if it never happens.
