Oh my goodness you two are adorable! I loved when you modeled your very stylish hat and Mike said you looked beautiful! Very sweet! Your positive attitude is so addictive. I appreciate how you share your blessings and by looking at each shift and change as another opportunity. Great video! Thanks! 😊
I look forward to and enjoy your videos so much. It’s like the “old days” when we’d wait for the next episode of Friends or Seinfeld to see what happens next. ❤
Amazing that Royal was able to pull this off so quickly. What an incredible alternate agenda! WOW! So glad you didn't feel the affects of the altitude sickness. I would imagine that could really put a damper on the enjoyment, no matter how wonderful it was. And look at your alpaca hat! Gorgeous, Nancy! I'm sure you'll get good use out of it in Michigan. And Mike, you're getting too good at these cliff hangers! Can't wait 'till the next one! In the meantime, say Kia Ora to the Kiwis for all of us here on the other side of the world!
Thank you so much for the great comments. It really was amazing up in Cusco Peru. Interesting to read your comment today because we are actually in Auckland New Zealand today. And talk about a cliffhanger we spent all day with the little people of the Shire. Wait till you see those pictures and videos!
I have so been enjoying following your journey! I hope you 2 are having a great time. We aren't quite in phase 2....more like "phase teen"! But we are loving this stage and looking forward to all of the ones that follow.

Ah I’m so far behind! I’m watching in August 2024! I like to watch your videos while I get ready for school (as an educator). Your upbeat presence helps me get going in the morning! Thank you for sharing your adventures!
I love watching your videos. Very interesting place. Your attitudes about the changes are so positive. Royal sure is working hard behind the scenes to change things up with little notice. Love the hat Nancy, it will be so warm. I have Alpaca socks. They are so warm and comfy. Can’t wait until your next adventure.💜💙🤗
I am so enjoying your videos, and I have been been looking forward to this one most! During the 90s my husband and I led tour groups to Peru apx 12 times. Oh, how I loved Cusco!! It always felt like home to me. The one thing we learned in our travels is to expect the unexpected. We used to take the train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes, (which lies just beneath Machu Picchu) a breathtakingly beautiful 4 hour ride. On one of our trips, a tree had fallen across the tracks preventing us from going any further. While my passengers, numbering 20, waited for the solution, my then husband went out and tried to jump up and down on the tree to break it up. They were eventually able to get some workers out there to remove the tree from the tracks and carry on. One thing that's making me crazy is your pronunciation of Pisco. It is Pees-ko. 😂 Thank you for this, it was so much fun. You WILL go back to Cusco.❤
Life is about how you handle change and can pivot when needed, I'm sure not everyone would have been as understanding as you guys. I'm loving watching along as I know I'll never be able to go to all the countries you will visit.
Concerning altitude: best is Inka Cola, super yellow, they offered it on the flight Lima to Cusco: no altitude sickness and best mood after one liter😂. Great to see Cusco again in your video. It's just stunning🎉, so fascinating. So sorry that you couldn't see Macchu Picchu, anyway, visiting Cusco and the Sacred Valley and Ollantaytambo thoroughly already takes its time and so you could do that without being in a hurry. All places one will never forget. Thank you for the video. BTW: the flamenco 💃dance with the 🐴 is interesting🤩. And Nancy's alpaca hat looks suoer cute on her ❤.
I just discovered the channel of Andre and Tanya who are blogging as dancers on the world cruise. Very informative point of view. They are lovely people. I thought the faithful followers of Mike and Nancy’s vlogs would enjoy watching Andre and Tanya ❤
I have probs going down from a high altitude not going up...........guess because i live in the high desert of California. What beautiful cathedrals.Went to Getty museum to see Irises by van Gogh last week and they did have a lot of religious paintings.Wow! you saw the best part of the game!I would think it would be best not to peruse the city all on your own. Hi Mike and Nancy. Great videos. My wife and I look forward to watching your adventures. We are locals to Newcastle and we would love to say hello. While not on the list Harry’s Cafe de Wheels on the Wharf does a pretty good hot dog!!!
I've been fortunate enough to visit Machu Picchu twice. The last time I was there they said they were thinking about more crowd control due to the sinking of the ground. I'm sorry you missed out because of all the protesting though. However, I have to commend you both on your positive attitude and your open mindedness to adapt to the changes which I was out of Royal Caribbean's control. Instead of being upset, you are making the most of your world cruise with any experience given to you which is such an inspiration. I cannot afford the entire ultimate world cruise but my goal is to go on the Middle East/Med segment once things calm dawn in the area.
We can't wait to go back to Peru and go to Machu Picchu in the future. We can't recommend travel like this enough. We are currently going around to Africa and loving every minute
OMG! That was so much fun! Loved it! We definitely have to do Machu Picchu. I worked with a guy back in the 90s from Lima Peru. He told me I would love it there. Now I understand! Love the hat! I will have to get one when I visit!
Even though you couldn’t take the original tour, I think you had a wonderful substitute. Amazing that they could put it together so fast. That is definitely a Michigan hat. Looks great on you and I’m sure it will keep you warm.

"Alpaca's your color". So sweet!😂 And the hat did look great on you, Nancy! I like your attitudes - Machu Picchu would have been great, but what you saw looked beautiful and fascinating.I never knew that there was particular altitude sickness medicine you could take before you went to altitude, I'll remember that for my touring.
This is the video I’ve been waiting for- I’m traveling to Machu Picchu in June! I’m sorry y’all didn’t get to go, but as a traveler, I love hearing about these alternate sites. Thank you as always for sharing ❤
We traveled to Peru last April. Earlier in the year there had been train strikes but we were fortunate and got to visit Machu Picchu. - true bucket list. It was nice to revisit some of the sights we had seen. As to altitude sickness - we spent the first couple nights in Sacred Valley which is a bit lower than Cusco. In spite of the teas and coca leave we chewed, I was affected by the altitude. We contacted the desk at our hotel and they were at our room in minutes with an oxygen tank and mask. I had about a 5-8 minute treatment with oxygen and the headache eased. I was fine for Machu Picchu and then later Cusco. So remember oxygen!
I was told today that your cruise could be the one in Auckland today. Sorry the weather hasn’t come out to play. But if you are here have a great time in my hometown ❤
We just got back to the ship from our visit to the shire. It was one of our most amazing days. Can't wait to share it with everyone. You have a very very beautiful country here and we can't wait to return someday.
A wonderful video.RC did a tremendous job at turning things around.Have been to Chile and Peru but did not get to see some of the wonderful places that you did.
So sorry you weren’t able to do Machu Picchu. We were therein October, 2023. We were able to do many of your stops at Cusco. Loved our trip and we’re glad to revisit our trip through your video.
Hiya many people don’t think the Incas built the massive megalithic Sacsayhuaman, Incas where bronce age people and had no tools or cranes to lift or carve andesite or granite rocks, actually if you scroll thru your video you can see 2 construction methods, the perfect megalithic and the rudimentary wall repairs and extensions this crude small rocks, it’s the same wherever you go in peru. Hope you enjoyed peru
l love your hat very stylish and warm for your Michigan weather. Your friends and are going to be jealous. love your hat very stylish and warm for your Michigan weather. Your friends and family are going to be jealous.
We’ve talked off and on about it in different videos. Approximately $70,000 for the trip for each of us. And then we budget about $100 a day for each port day.
probably too late to ask this but I wondered if you had a chance to scope out any yarn and what the prices were like. (I know you do cross stitch but sometimes there is overlap).
When I went to Machu Picchu we stayed in Urubamba (Sacred Valley) at the Tambo del Inka (beautiful place), which has a train station right on site, that is part of the journey to Machu Picchu. This will assist in not getting altitude sickness. Urubamba (9400') is about 1700' lower than Cusco (11,100'). This really helped and we didn't experience any altitude sickness. Machu Picchu is at 7900' and by then we didn't feel any sort of discomfort. Just a tip if you ever plan on going back.
Question for your information video… hope this isn’t too late. How do you handle getting your land legs back after having your sea legs for awhile? That’s a lot of walking to do if the ground is moving. I have trouble getting land legs after being on a cruise for just a few days.
You know, sometimes even on land you do want to walk from side to side. We were on shore all day today at Hobbiton in New Zealand, and I guess just get used to it. I don’t have any other suggestions.😀
Bummer! I've always wanted to go to Machu Picchu. Sadly, at our age and conditioning now, I think that chance is gone. Too bad you had to miss it over a strike.
Disappointing about Machu Picchu, but definitely a winning replacement itinerary. Question - you mentioned Chichen Itza. Was that a pre-cruise trip you took?
Maybe you two didn’t miss out on eating guinea pig. I remember watching lonely planet years ago, probably even before RUclips. The host on there JUSTINE got a guinea pig, and when it arrived at her table she just couldn’t eat it. It was a whole guinea pig and I assume it was gutted, but the feet were curved backwards From the front paws and it just looks so sad. Even though it is a local specialty, I don’t think I would have the heart to eat a guinea pig too.
Nancy said the only thing she wouldn't eat on this whole Adventure is Scorpion and we've already had two chances to eat it and she's passed both times. But everything else is Fair game, no pun intended!🤣🤣🤣
Oh my goodness you two are adorable! I loved when you modeled your very stylish hat and Mike said you looked beautiful! Very sweet! Your positive attitude is so addictive. I appreciate how you share your blessings and by looking at each shift and change as another opportunity. Great video! Thanks! 😊

Yes we had some people we were traveling with that needed an oxygen treatment several times. That can give some instant relief to some people.
Nice video, as they all are, thank you. Beautiful hat, I live in Florida, but I would have bought it too.
Thanks hopefully Nancy will get a lot of use out of it in Michigan when we get home
Great video! Loved the scenery and your hat Nancy. Best wishes from Scotland 😊

We really enjoyed Peru, and found it so interesting!
Sorry that you guys missed March 1 due to crossing the dateline. It was a really great day but we've all been sworn to secrecy about what happened.

Hello! Amazing trip! Big congrats! I didnt saw any discussions about budget needed for this trip. Can you please discuss a little bit about it?
We’ve talked off and on about it in different videos. Approximately $70,000 for the trip for each of us. And then we budget about $100 a day for each port day.
probably too late to ask this but I wondered if you had a chance to scope out any yarn and what the prices were like. (I know you do cross stitch but sometimes there is overlap).
You know, I did not look at any yarn. Thank you though for asking.
We really appreciate you posting this tip. This is wonderful.👍🏻
You spoke about taking medication prior to being at high altitudes, what would you take? Thanks.
We took acetazolamide. However we're not giving any medical advice related to that. Please consult your doctor
Yes, it was very unfortunate. It does give us a reason to go back though.
Disappointing about Machu Picchu, but definitely a winning replacement itinerary. Question - you mentioned Chichen Itza. Was that a pre-cruise trip you took?
That was one of the included world wonder trips that Royal had included for us. Royal included seven world wonders.
I swear to Pete I don’t understand the RUclips algorithm.
Hi Mike and Nancy!
Hello to you! And we don’t understand the algorithm either.😀

I can’t wait to see where you go next.
What are your cruise plans for 2025?
We don’t have any cruises scheduled in 2025, but we are talking with our friends about a reunion cruise that year.
