Who Can Go Fishing? | Week 4 National Fishing Month 2022

It’s week 4 of National Fishing Month, and we answer the question: Who can go fishing? We meet Women’s Carp Team England who are preparing for this year's Women’s Carp Fishing World Championships, which is being held here in England at Linear Fisheries in Oxford.
The event takes place from the 31st of August until the 3rd of September and will see eight nations taking part. This event is a massive milestone for women’s carp fishing and we would like to welcome spectators to the event to see the competition in progress and to support your home nation, of course.
This will probably be the only time England will host the event so it’s a great chance to see the Women’s Carp Team England in action.
The 72hr endurance match starts with an opening ceremony and parades in Witney on Tuesday evening with the comp starting at 12.30pm on Wednesday the 31st of August. The event is on Brasenose Two and Hardwick Smiths on the Linear Complex. Linear Fisheries is also holding a shop open day on Saturday the 3rd of September and also a junior event which will tie in with the last day of the event. The match will finish at 12.30pm on Saturday.
We would love to see the carp fishing family get behind this event, show their support and if you can get along to Linear Fisheries to hopefully see on Team England ladies bring home the gold!

Licences for children aged between 13 and 16 are free, but you’ll still need to get one.

I used to wonder why the sexes should be separated in sports like angling but then it’s probably quite alienating or difficult psychologically, if you’re the only lady turning up to fish a comp. Either way, what a great story to be sharing. Enjoyed that. Hope you can give us an update after the linear finals? Looking forward to seeing your whip fishing video, too. Needed because some of the existing ones out there on different but prominent channels are dreadful! I’m doing the same to use as a Fishwish learning resource for the whip fishing course I’ve written to lay over the Get Fishing Awards. Also done a guide to whip fishing to go with the series of tutorials on the Fishwish channel, which I’ll share once published. Good stuff 👍
