  • The Spurn Peninsula on Yorkshire’s East Coast is a "magical place" especially for birdwatching, and every September birders congregate here for the Spurn Migration Festival event, or MigFest, as it's known.
The 2024 Spurn MigFest took place from the evening of Friday 6th to Sunday 8th September with an estimated 3-400 people attending over the course of the weekend, and this film takes a little look at what went on.
Chairman of the 2024 Organising Committee, Paul Willoughby and his team of volunteers put together a full programme of activities that included migration walks at various places around the Spurn peninsula, seawatching, moth trap and bird-ringing workshops, lectures and talks, and much more.
Keynote speakers for the Friday and Saturday night talks were Ornithologist & author, Lars Svensson and Wildlife TV Presenter, Nigel Marven.
The Spurn Ladies kept everyone fed and watered throughout with amazing meals served from the main marquee.

Thanks Sarah 👍yes, well done indeed, MigFest 2024 was such a superbly organised event. Even as non-birders, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience 😊👏
