In a galaxy far, far away, it used to be called SPOT BOWLING. You picked a certain board and/or a certain spot, you aimed your release to roll over and cross that spot, your ball, depending on how straight you released it would then curve/hook into the 1-3 pocket, and a strike would result, and you would always have a 300 game. And pigs would fly. Anyhoo-lanes changed. Equipment changed. Conditions changed. And most of us lost interest in bowling as the prices went up, bowling houses went out of business, and economies went into recession. ABC stopped showing the pro tour, women's tour went under, bowlers retired/died. And now? The PBA is trying everything and anything they can think of to keep bowling around. Colleges are trying to as well. Pros are sticking around (senior tour), women's tour came back, and younger guys are being allowed to turn pro. Is the pro league still doing skills challenges? Maybe, if whatever cable channel thinks it's worth the price.
Right, besides the messenger hit the 10 pin only a tiny second before the Setting Table of the Brunswick GSX Pinsetter is gonna hit the head of the pin and it already started to tripped the pin down.
Having done this challenge before, I can say that the curtain was WAY too high. It should be 9" off the deck, and a few inches past center arrow. They made it too easy for the bowlers. Most bowling centers will allow you to curtain the lanes if they are not busy, and it is a fantastic way to practice your approach and release without pins distracting your focus.
Where does Chris Barnes get his pants??? I want some of that neon green action!!! BTW, will High 5 Gear release replicas of the PBA League jerseys for us fans to buy, like they did for the replica tour jerseys??? I hope so, because I missed out on getting all of the 8 shirts from last year when Gemini had them out, although I DO have last year's Silver Lake Atom Splitters, Philadelphia Hitmen and Dallas Strikers shirts from last season.
happygilmore06 Thanks, actually 2 weeks ago, I DID pick up a pair of that same shade of neon green pants on eBay (I actually found them out of Germany, mine were made by Urban Classics), and they actually go well with my 2013-14 Atom Splitters jersey, and yes, I DID get all 8 team jerseys from the 2013-14 season, all done up the same way as all 8 players in this specific competition (High 5 Gear and large team logos only, no sponsors or approved equipment logos) and I just might and get another one Splitter jersey done up but this time with my name on the back for tournament play. I can imagine how "Ray Jackson" would look on the back if done up in the same font as all the Atom Splitters teammates had theirs done up with. GO SPLITTERS!!! 2014 Elias Cup Champions!!!
I dig that music that they play when ever a new bowler comes up to take his shot. Plus it's not that they have an urge to look under the curtain they are checking to make sure they have 10 full pins on the left lane as you'll note they had to wait for the left lane to set up a full rack on a few occations.
Randy, how does Chris Barnes' ball match his outfit. His ball is purple, orange and white while his outfit is purple and green. Randy must be colorblind.
Well I am glad the female presenter went to school to learn her trade! : Puts on a false grim, looks blankly at the camera, and - "How difficult is it to hit the pins when you can't see them?" What a stupid, unnecessary question. I know some bowlers do not ever look at the pins but take position from boards/arrows, but some bowlers DO look at the pins. Either way, with a big curtain hanging down, it certainly is not easy.
This challenge should be changed.. the curtain should be moved closer to the foul line.. i'm sure the top players in the world like them aim at the arrows or a certain board so this must be real easy for them.. especially since they can peek under the curtain to know the ball motion
Broderick Brown the pinsetter cannot knock a pin over, if the pinsetter hits a pin that has not fallen over and is not in the channel, it is considered standing
thank you for the upload its good someone is keeping up with posting the events
they should have covered the arrows as well, would have made it a lot harder
they should of put blind folds on the bowlers
agree jason belmonte says he never looks at the pins when throwing the ball always the arrow
at that point it’s just throwing a ball down a lane and seeing how it goes 😂

Nobody looks at pins but I guess it does something to spares
I really don't understand this challenge. You never look at the pins while you're throwing the ball anyway.
Not only that, but they can look under the curtain to see if they need to make small adjustments as well.
It's only a bit of fun
Just because you don't doesn't mean that other people don't. Plenty of people look at the pins.
Yes you do
You look at the arrows
I don't even look at the pins when I bowl, I look strait down at the foul line cause it helps me focus on target.
I'm kinda the same way, I watch the arrow I am trying to hit.
Mc McNugget im like wes mallot I look at my target then half way down the approach I look at my lay down board.
Nick Lo Faso i do the same as well my man.
Me too
"Can I get a re-rack?"
Bill O Neill and Mike Fagan look like brothers lol
5:46 The pin was already falling over. Bs call in my opinion.
iLL ManTis shouldn't be assisted by the pinsetter.
I know right it literally was already falling, I swear some mathematician will prove it is strike

Thanks for uploading this! :)

High enough for camera angle, perhaps?

I would guess they are golf pants. A number of companies make bright colored pants. Nike, Adidas, and Puma.

Bowling blind pga tournament, are they still going on today. If so, how do u sign your team up

Randy, how does Chris Barnes' ball match his outfit. His ball is purple, orange and white while his outfit is purple and green. Randy must be colorblind.
Thanks for the video upload!
Did Mike J really just say "when he touchdown passes" ?
In chicago we call this the PETERSON!!!!

crazy antics
are people booing duke or are they saying his name
Duuuuuuuuke
Does anybody know if they are going to be bowling like last year as well? If they are just going to do this, I'm not going to watch
Yeah they are, This is just a charity thing they are doing.
Does sean rash not use fingertips?
This is the easiest challenge, when I Bowl I look at the foul line to the arrows to land my mark. That means I can throw on my mark every time
Great job you guys 👍

I wonder if when they bowl blind, if they'll use a blindfold. Should make it more interesting. But due to safety factors, probably not a good idea.
Aww come on. The machine was too quick imo...at my house you would get that every time.
Anyone knows what ball was Barnes using? He's got some fancy colored ball there.
Colombia 300 Crazy Antics. It's a new one, I don't think it has been released yet
MrNlwt It was released back in like July
No, that was the 'Antics'. The ball Barnes was using was the 'Crazy Antics', not even been released yet.
MrNlwt Oh, I didn't catch the "Crazy" part in your first comment. lol
Thanks guys!
I look down at the foul line, so it wouldn't be that hard, it'd be very very difficult and odd.
At 5:18 just had this happen to me today at league.
Hits you in the gut every time
Pete Weber is my favorite
9:52 Lol Pete Weber
Jason Belmonte is my biggest fan
Fazrullah Rosli good job for picking Jason belmonte
Fazrullah Rosli Wow i didnt know he liked you!

When that pin fell it should of counted because it was falling down already
Broderick Brown the pinsetter cannot knock a pin over, if the pinsetter hits a pin that has not fallen over and is not in the channel, it is considered standing
They're not bowling blind. If they were they would not know where to throw the spare
Sad life for mike Fagan he wanted the messenger
4:47 w song
5:14 mike Fagan crazy messenger that does not count
Triple H theme
Eefing pathetic. Bill Taylor tried to stop this s#%@ before it got to this.
That Owens guy really irritates me :L
Just like yo momma
