I brought mine inside its in my basement and its great because i live in PA and winter can get cold . I have a floor drain right next to mine now as well
Love it, enjoy. Some multi colored led lights would look fantastic at night and the umbrella is a nice touch. I think you have a drain on the very lowest level of the room, a small pvc pipe thru the brick wall , from the hot tub to the lower level maybe a good insurance policy in case of a leak
Having a hot tub in your house seems like trouble. BUT, your setup does look pretty sweet. And when your child enjoys it as much as she appears to be, it kinda makes it all worth while. Good luck with this one. I hope it works out for you. Go ARMY!
What a fun idea! I was in a hot tub once in the snow in Wisconsin and it was so cold but oh my goodness the area that you are making for your family brilliant idea I hope it continually Works fantastic for you all
Looks amazing! I love all the plants. Everything is looking so great. I'm sure it will be a huge blessing this winter. Definitely know all about those depressing Michigan winters.
Terrific for fighting off ravages of the interior low humidity that comes with cold climate. My only concern for you are the potted plants on narrow "ledge" where one could accidently get knocked off and perhaps injure someone below, or at the least, make very ugly mess. Love the up umbrella; easier on eyes when sitting at table plus it just gets umbrella out of the way :) NICE!
I will admit I didn't read through all you comments but, being a crazy plant lady I will say this: grow lights. Even though you are opening your roof panels to the sky, some of your plants, especially the citrus need more hours of daylight than you are going to get. LED grow lights are awesome though generally need to be closer to the plants than traditional power hungry older options. If you install any grow lights outfit your family with protective glasses which will only lend to the "summer" experience. Lights can be put on an inexpensive timer to extend the day the plants need to thrive. Maybe, you've already thought of this. We're always in a time lag as viewers. Love your channel. I find you inspiring. Carry on brother. Hope to meet you in person one day! God bless you and yours. Much Love.
Should look into a 8 litre lpg water heater for the tub,a lot cheaper than electric to heat the water, there’s a few vids on yt on setting it up and the cost difference,I’m in the uk 🇬🇧 and it the price difference is around 70-75%
I have filters like that for my hot tub. I soak them in a strong citric acid solution like for canning. After taking the filter out and rinsing it off they can be reused. I keep my tub in the basement with no problem.
i had one of them hot tubs in my house for a winter, if your floor is strong there is no problem most likely but it produces a lot of steam er evap so no electronics and mind the draft of the hot wet air going places in the house
I live in New Mexico so 35% humidity is high for me we are use to 2-5% in the summer and up to 10 in the winter. Of course my elevation is above 6000 feet above sea level and that makes a difference as well.
Oh wow I love the winter and Autumn season there is nothing yucky about it at all. I love the chill in the air I love the cold give me the clouds I love the rain and I really love the snow. I love everything about this season I love spring fall and winter. I really wish I could afford to live up north I would be there in a heartbeat
The heat vent behind the HT by the wall - maybe close it off so no water gets into it ( if something happens) . Love it so blessed. Have fun. Thanks for sharing. God bless
That’s awesome. 👍🏼👍🏼 Now you just need a large “waterfall” on that back wall… something more than the little aquaponic system. Does anyone make an LED string-light grid that simulates cascading water? 🤔
It looked like you could possibly thread a garden hose onto where the water was draining out of the hot-tub. But, it was difficult to tell for certain. But, you could just run a garden hose siphon, up over the side of the hot-tub and out the door and over the side of the deck?
Hi Todd, well we have a hot tub 95% the same as yours, and we have had it inside in the winter, Humidity: yes, even with the cover, the humidity will go up., and some condensation on the windows. Tbf, we did not heat with wood, which I think will help you , and we did not have such a large space like your atrium, which will help. Just something to keep an eye on. 2nd point was the chemicals in the water; that smell is concentrated in the enclosed space of the house, and you will really notice it after a week or two.. that cover is not air-tight. It was no problem for me, however my wife did complain about it. I guess it will depend how sensitive everyone is. Our solution was simply to schedule 2-3 evenings where we would actively use the hot tub, and then drain it for the week or two we would not use it. Just being organized.. I hope it works out, it looks great being inside.... just wait for when it is snowing outside, nothing better to put a smile on your face.
My only hesitation about something like this would be the halogen bromine that is released into the air in your house that you are constantly breathing from the hot tub chemicals. Very difficult on the body, especially the thyroid. If you already supplement with a good quality iodine like Lugols or a nascent iodine like detoxadine, it might be okay but it also could be very overwhelming still to breathe that in all day and all night. Especially considering you guys have had an issues with water problems in your house I think it might be a wise option to have some kind of a tray with a drainage system in case of leakage, or at least a tray by itself, much like what is used under washing machines. Perhaps set up a water sensor that could alert you if water started leaking into the tray. I'd hate for an insurance company to deny a claim on the grounds an appliance was used indoors that was strictly for outdoor use.
That's a nice set up. We also heat with wood and the house gets very dry in the winter. Does that section of the floor have a drain to collect water if it does leak? If not, have you thought of how to contain the water and where it might go?
The air temperature in the room should be kept 10 degrees warmer than the water temperature, or you will have very high humidity. So if you keep the water temperature at 100 degrees, the room air would have to be 110 degrees. Yikes!
It’s hard to say if it being indoors will work or not. People are concerned about high humidity. Could you open the sliding door just a bit to reduce that? I don’t know anything about the subject or hot tubs, but I’m thinking I want to buy one of those. Can’t afford a fiberglass one. So ok, you just sit on the bottom of it? Does it get uncomfortable sitting that way? I would set mine on sand I think.
62% humidity indoors is already above normal levels. This is a bad idea. Also, if this cheap rubber tub fails, you are going to be dealing with serious water damage.
There is nothing better than sitting in a hot tub outside when it is snowing.
I know that's right! That's the only thing I miss about my ex husband. lol

I love your indoor winter setup! Nice!
I love the idea of a hot tub in the house. It really makes a great use of the area.

Superb idea! Very creative! Thanks for taking the time to share it with us! Sincere

I wonder if your plants would love the humidity later in winter. Absolutely love how you set everything up and would be there every night.
We enjoyed our Hot tub in the winter when it’s cold and snowy you don’t even mind it.
I would love that also but this little hot tub doesn’t work well in temps below 40 outside

Very cool. Nice your daughter likes to help you out with projects
I'm thinking of doing this as well during the winter months. Had the exact concerns. I'd put it in the same room with my fireplace.
Great idea, fantastic use of the space and patio items over winter.

I'd definitely invest in a high quality dehumidifier for that room.
Wood heat is just that.
Our church uses that same unit for baptisms.....just watch those O-rings on the pump unit!
Ours does too!
Much better inside ! I agree.
That is Fantastic!!!! Awesome idea. You have created a beautiful oasis!

Can't wait to show my husband your inflatable hot tub! :)) what a great idea in the atrium area! You are blessed :)
Lay z spa are a good company to look at,tried the inter and had nothing but trouble with it
It’s my understanding that you can drink the water from a dehumidifier. You can definitely water plants with it.
I don’t think that’s a good idea to drink it. Water plants yes
Drinking other peoples sweat. I'll pass.
You can reuse those pool filters just wash them off and let them rinse in a mild bleach solution and they're like new again
You do you!
You have a great area for it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥

Amazing idea! I'd only really be worried about the humidity. Seems like you have that covered though.
The only thing I might be concerned about is wet feet and a tile floor, may get slippery?🌺💚🙃 should have waited until the end, I see the rug🌺💚🙃
I see a Lab on the prowl. If it ain't for food, it's for water. How long until he takes a dip?
How are you going to drain it next time since it’s inside?

If it fits, put it in on the other side of the curb where the floor drain is....just in case!

The plants will love the extra humidity. Will the floor hold up the weight?
It is a concrete slab so it should be fine
👍
iam back its that time of the season tell the family uncle snapper is home
Good to hear from you!
@@SSLFamilyDad we had a concrete slab with reinforced rebar and it cracked under our round Softtub hot tub. It was outdoors though.

I wanted to ask....when it's time to move it back outside, how are you going to drain it without all that water running into your house?
The is a hose attachment on the drain and I’ll run it to a floor drain or out the door
62% humidity indoors is already above normal levels. This is a bad idea. Also, if this cheap rubber tub fails, you are going to be dealing with serious water damage.
Whatever happened to his dogs?
Bad idea - weight wise and excessive humidity wise
And watching you clean the base obviously mold/mildew is an issue. That has all the potential to become an illness breeder
Plus come spring how you going to drain it and move it outside? You just let it drain onto the deck!!
You seem to have a better set up than me. I am watching this video on my deck wearing my winter coat and mittens!🥶 mark me down as “it’s a great idea.
Opening the umbrella in the house is bad luck, wishing you well!
