- The new Garmin Alpha LTE adds a whole other level of tracking ability to keep you and your hound connected. This quick review just touches on this new product from Garmin and I’m sure we’ll do a follow up to address and of your questions and also what else we find while we’re hunting. #coonhunting #dogtraining #garmin #hound #houndhunting #houndsman #houndsmen #hunting #huntingdog #rabbithunting #squirreldog #squirrelhunting #huntingdog #huntingdogtraining #garminalpha
the LTE does not work in Luxembourg, Belgian, German French border , where I'm active " Bloodtrailing " with my dog
Sorry to hear that. We only deal and sell in the US so I can’t speak for how it will work in other countries. I do know the Garmin website says it uses AT&T and T-Mobile towers for its LTE service.
Can the lte itself be switched to run off sat? or will it only run lte?
It is an LTE collar. However, when paired to a vhf system/collar like a 200 or 300 and TT15 or TT25 the handheld will only show the one dog on the screen and will automatically switch from the vhf to lte and back to keep tracking the dog when the VHF collar loses signal.
Very nice, seems like a cost effective way to get tracking going. I assume their is no 'point' notification, but you can determine if they are on point via the speed?
You can switch the LTE settings on the Alpha App for Auto, Pointing or Tree Dog notifications. I only have tree dogs so I don’t really have good experience with using the point setting.
@@GravelRunHuntingSupply Right on, good stuff. Thanks for the intel and nice video!
Will the LTE pair with my Garmin Fenix 6 watch?
The LTE collar pairs with the Alpha App on your phone. I don’t know if the Fenix 6 will pair to the App. But the Alpha 10, 200, and 300 pair with the Alpha App which then transmits the LTE data to the handheld. Now whether that works the same for the Fenix 6 I’m not sure.
