Of course one of the key reasons your ministry is thriving is because you are following God’s leading. Thanks for all you do, what you share and allowing us to come alongside in small ways.
Rob, you and Leslie are so kindhearted and generous. You have truly humbled yourselves in the site of the Lord. You have made your home a place for students to learn and study as well as a place for them to experience culture that many would not get to experience any other way. That’s priceless and that’s why I watch your channel.
You made a great point Rob, you shouldn’t be the boss if you aren’t willing to do all the jobs… Leslie your bay leaf(or laurel) can also be cut into lengths and create a dried wreath 😊
I don’t know if this is something you will need to do, but I suggest you consider it! After I had my new roof put on, my intuition told me there were probably nails all around my house, so I went and bought one of those magnets that’s on rollers, like a push lawnmower And I went around my house multiple times and you would not believe the number of meals that I picked up it was absolutely amazing and I have animals and plus I walk barefoot it sometimes outside so I think I save myself a lot of pain and discomfort for the future not to mention if the lawnmower were to hit them! So it’s just a suggestion I just suspect there’s going to be some metal somewhere on your yard. I doubt they will clean it up!
Hi Leslie,,, The best way to get water marks off of wood tables is to apply a generous helping of mayonnaise. It works MIRACLES! We are new subscribers and sending you both much love from the Isle of Capri! 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴
I know first hand the feeling of having strangers assume I am the hired help doing landscaping work. At first I didn't know how to feel about it - but after a while I decided it's hilarious and fun.
That’s happen to us also. We have done all are landscaping. Lot of rock scampering.we get really hot and dirty . So it was funny when some ask who the owner were 😂
I have been following from the beginning and its such an inspiration. I personally love the spirituality of you're mission. And the fact you're from OREGON. I'm here in McMinnville, Ore. Home of the spruce Goose and Linfield College. I've been a foster Mom for three children and that's a big job but so rewarding. Life is wonderful if you look at it in the right way. Love you're updates on the Chateau and kids and of course Mr. B . Thanks for the Great Job you and Leslie do. Fun to watch and catch up. Regena from Oregon.
Rob, I used to have the same thing happen to me when I owned my 1900 commercial building. After I painstakingly restored it and put in a full restaurant and bar and banquet facilities, no one would ever believe I was the owner. I was 27 years old at the time, maybe that is it. I have advanced degrees and am a professional accountant which I accomplished at a young age in my early 20's so I had earned all my money myself and was able to obtain SBA loans for my restaurant. Anyway, no one ever believed my accomplishments because I think people have a false impression of the silent majority that works hard. I guess some people think wealth just comes naturally and that owners walk around in tuxedo's all day long. I do think you need to buy an old Mercury Grand Marquis that is in great shape and use it to drive around the grounds of the Chateau and use it to go get the mail. Then if someone approaches you about who the owner is, you can say "I am the Marquis of this Estate" power window up and drive away. LOL.
It is different to understand workers in Europe. They balance life and work. Which is a good lessen for us Workers in North America to learn. Also the French usually take 5 weeks of holidays in August. I don’t know if this will be the case with your roofers. But be prepared. If they dont finish by August they may take a few weeks break. Love you both. Great job on the video, sharing your passion, the table, and ironing. Lots of work. Hope those are edible Bay leaves!
Wow.....what an amazing job the roofers are doing and such angles to be working with. Nothing looks easy. So glad that you have given them a place to put their things and provide a place for them to eat and heat their food. Well done!! You did an amazing job on the table extensions.....aweseome!
Great that you have so many bay leaves you should have a volunteer dry and do up little bags of bay leaves and sell or give as gift bags to guests or students to take home as a piece of the Chateau. I use bay leaves a lot love the scent as well put a few in your flower arrangements as well they have a pleasant scent. Enjoy thanks for sharing your Chateau and your wonderful mission in life you are making the world a better place!!👏👏👏👏👏💐💐💐🐾🙏🙏♥️🥰🇨🇦
I appreciate your ministry. Few doing the good things of God's Kingdom reap a financial reward. But the people around you in the journey are a tremendous blessing. So difficult to monetize that. Full hearts.
Great video today. Thanks for showing the details on how the roof is coming together. I had no idea how they would work on this project so thanks for getting up there to video it. If I were there I'd clean up the mess from the birds. that has to smell in your summer heat. I also thought the table extension you built was so clever. Good one! Very English to let the wild flowers grow in wild I'd keep the at a distance as hard to control if it gets in your formal grass areas. Enjoy your days!
Love how you are bringing this beautiful chateau back to life and your mission to help others! ❤ I always thank God for my good health, without out that you can't be productive.love the piano.
Yay Spring Thaw! Loved helped with it and also bringing my crew a couple times. Rob, I remember one time helping you build part of the stage decor behind the Gym. I showed up thinking there would be a handful of volunteers but nope, it was just you. Your work ethic has been an inspiration to me for many, many years and continues to be now. Keep going for the Kingdom!
I taught myself to think I can only do one thing at a time and do that one thing well! It helps a lot. I make a lot of list to prioritize and not forget and that helps even more!
Woohoo! Glad to see that you're looking for a piano. In my mind, your chateau won't be complete until you get one. Regarding your feeling of being underdressed, you weren't...you were wearing a tee shirt with the logo of my alma mater on it. Go Ducks!
You both warm my heart so much, I love the content and the formula is perfect, chateau, yard :) , roof, kids and FOOD! Of course Mr Bingly... please keep up to great work you do. I love the Sunday Thoughts with Rob... truly heartfelt, poignant and helpful POV for others to learn from. You both are so deserving of Gods blessings...and I pray that there is even more for you both. Much love and peace be with you both.
Your work is so awesome and you guys work so hard, harder than I have ever seen others work. You do deserve the financial support! I am so thankful for your blessings. Ant the preparation of the youth who will run the world tomorrow is the biggest gift you can give to the world! Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That was quite a piano! Neat to see photos of the students. It's so interesting to see the inside of the roof, and those odd views through the slats. The hooks to hold the slates are really different. I had no idea, but it makes sense. When it's done you should have much less moisture coming in than going out. Moisture out is a good thing. My gardening clothes are pretty ratty too.
Thank you Rob for your wonderful advice as my husband and I as believers (with a story about abuse) are going to start a ‘Not For Profit’ project to support those that have fallen through the net 🙏🏼
It is very rare for people to use clothes driers in Australia because we have quite good weather for drying outdoors for a large part of the year and also the cost of electricity is just prohibitive. In winter washing is hung under cover outside and only brought in to finish it off. Another channel, Queens Escape is running a bed and breakfast and found it impossible to iron all the sheets so she has reverted to hanging all the washing outdoors on a clothes line. She says it has worked a treat and loves the clean smell of the laundry dried in this way. When my kids were young and I was working full time we used to share the job of hanging out and bringing in the washing and so could your young students as part of their learning experience.
You do have a "pretty" chateau, some of them look to be just plain stones with no interesting stone work. The roof is epic with the work and being able to see the work and scenery at the same time.
The roof is looking great. That will be wonderful when it is finished and no more problems. Love the long table. What a great fix. Thanks so much for sharing.
What a lovely conversation and your “bad clothes” are fine! Keep up the hard work. My husband and I and my two children and their part ears are all work hard..with or without “bad clothes”!🌻
You have nothing to be embarrassed about Rob. You are both worthy and your hearts are good and kind which is all that matters. That is what I enjoy about your channel, that you are not trying to appear as something you are not. I, and many of the viewers are most likely from humble origins and it is what we do in this life that counts. We applaud you and your down to earth approach and thank you for being honest at all times. ❤❤
Finally get to watch yr video such a gorgeous Chateau, the new roof is coming along it's going to look even more stunning once done , I think I said that last time on my comment 😅. U should grow a wild flower field it be lovely just add more flower seeds to what u have . U pickup some neat bargain antiques . Hi Mr Bing 🏀🎈🕍
Beth, they make flannel backed vinyl tablecloths (Party City has them here in the States). The flannel protects from hot dishes and the vinyl from condensation from glassware. Put one under your pretty table cloth. You may luck out finding pads for your dining table but otherwise custom ones are WOW expensive as you know. Cheers from North Carolina
Rob wouldn’t it have been easier to do those table leaves if you would have just purchased a round over bit you could’ve just drove it down and been done?😮
I volunteered a lot for youth group- grade 7 and 8...so many great moments, and yes its mostly volunteers! I think only one person got paid and its a huge community church over a thousand congregants...but I so loved doing it! it was a labour of love! Retreats you would come home so exausted because I rarely slept! Blessings from Ontario :)
I have watched a few videos, and I realized today I had not subscribed...sorry about that..but I have now and looking forward to your journey..a beautiful chataeu, very different then the other chanels, Regal, castle....I'm going to look back at posts to see a tour..Hello from Belleville Ontario
Have you thought of getting a regular grand piano and paint and embellish it in the same way as the $7000 one? I think this is something that Leslie could totally tackle.
Yes the missel found in the table drawer is used in church to follow Mass. The cards are tokens given to guests when you had a christening or both communions, first communion (premiere communion) and the confirmation (second communion). Great job!
Great advice. I use to have a sales training business and if you are not willing to be a servant you do not succeed. I got that advice from many other successful people that I sought advice from. Of course that is Biblical!
Rob are you going to redo the eaves troughs at some point? Especially that ones that traverse through walls, looks like they could still leak water in with a heavy downpour
Me parece muy bien los trabajos de restauración, es darle vida ah tantos lugares, a la arquitectura y entornos paisajisticos que se recuperan y rebaluan y embellescan los entornos!
Its the weight of one slate on top of the other that keeps them so fixed. The important part is the joints, they have to be well closed. The roof will stay good 100 years if well done. It breaths also, which keeps the wood sane. Today materials on other type of roofs are way inferior quality. Its great to keep large patches of wild flowers, good for the bees, its nice to look ate and you don’t need to cut the grass on those patches :-)
You have done so much work. Everything is looking good. You can use bay leaves to repel some insects such as cockroaches in cupboards. A small bunch with lavender would smell and look nice. Maybe set up a camera to see what is running around at the rear of the property.
You may choose to doublecheck the type of bay tree/plant you have recently trimmed and intend to dry. As I understand it, some varieties of bay are actually poisonous to eat.
@4:15. I hope they put zinc on the corners. Just having shingles meeting at the corner never worked, and always leaked, and were forever the starting place for tiles to crack and break
Your words of wisdom towards the end were spot on. We've seen your hard work and the impact you are making and YES! we want to participate. Speaking of... that piano would be perfect. How about making an offer? Or doing a Go-Fund me to see if you could raise the money? I'd donate.
I had a business exporting teak furniture from Indonesia to another country in Asia and those white marks can be removed by using a warm iron over a piece of cotton cloth or a towel. You need to go gently and do it in stages being sure not to have the iron on a steam setting or too hot. Good luck.
You can try mayonnaise on the wood water stains. Apply liberally, and let sit from an hour to overnight. Wipe clean and apply furniture polish or lemon oil. The mayo will not harm the wood. Get a thick, plastic tablecloth to place between the table and your top, white tablecloth.
Rob, great job with the table. One question, isn’t there a router bit that would match the edge of the table? That way you wouldn’t have to sand it down so much? I don’t think you would have had to do a starter edge with the correct bit? Just saying. Keep up the good work! ❤

I was thinking the same thing!
Or not iron sheets 😉
You guys are real. I love it. You love Jesus and people. The dining room looks great with the new redone table. Blessings.

Psalm 91 for you guys. Always trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and He will make your paths straight. You are both doing a marvelous job at the Chateau.
Very nice video. Great progress on the roof. The table used as a base is beautiful. Great idea. God bless you both.
The piano is fantastic! It would certainly be a nice addition to the Château.❤
I love how you share your heart. You and your Leslie both have Servants heart.

Prosciutto and melon is my absolute favorite appetizer when I visit Italy. It’s always so fresh so good.

Don't get to appropriate, both you and Les are down to earth, humble and "Graceful" to the world which more of us need to be.....thx for you example.
There is dignity in work! Well done 😊👍
Would it work to recycle some of the old roof slate tile’s that aren’t broken to each student as a mini charcuterie board as a keepsake?
Nice job on the table Rob & stain removal Lesley 🤗👍💐🤗👍
Roof men good job 🤗👍
Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Nice to see the Urns back in place
This was a wonderful episode this week 😊thanks
Great job with the table did you ever consider using a plastic liner under the tablecloth ?😊😊😊😊😊❤

Loved the video. An extra long one was a treat.
It was brilliant listening to you. How right are you . Having a lovely French chateau is all about hard work. Eileen and Brian

Fire place ash mixed with peanut butter worked for me.
Love you guys! You always make me smile! Best wishes from Indianapolis, Indiana.
Great job on the table. Things are looking better ever video.❤️❤️
Enjoyed from Texas!

Hi from Michigan USA
Me parece muy bien los trabajos de restauración, es darle vida ah tantos lugares, a la arquitectura y entornos paisajisticos que se recuperan y rebaluan y embellescan los entornos!
Thanks for blessing us with another wonderful video!
Beautiful chateau. We will be beginning our search for a restored chateau soon.

Absolutely beautiful Chateau ❤
I love what you are doing. Your video videos are very good. Lots of content.
God bless you both and what you are doing 🙏

You have done so much work. Everything is looking good. You can use bay leaves to repel some insects such as cockroaches in cupboards. A small bunch with lavender would smell and look nice. Maybe set up a camera to see what is running around at the rear of the property.
Rob, Get a drone so you can take a good look at the work they are doing.
God bless you both!
Another fabulous video with some great messages. Thank you,
Love the job with the dining room table!
Hi from Geelong, Victoria, Australia
Great Video! Thanks!
I pray for abundant blessing for you my brother and sister
You may choose to doublecheck the type of bay tree/plant you have recently trimmed and intend to dry. As I understand it, some varieties of bay are actually poisonous to eat.
@4:15. I hope they put zinc on the corners. Just having shingles meeting at the corner never worked, and always leaked, and were forever the starting place for tiles to crack and break
Leslie needs a mangle to get through all the ironing much quicker. A tool for Leslie!
Magnifique. Chateau ❤️🌹🇨🇦🙏
That bellows is for black smithing. You need a lot of air to get the fire hot enough
Yes sacrifice is the key word.
Leaders need to be willing to do whatever they ask volunteers, their employees, etc. to do.
Your words of wisdom towards the end were spot on. We've seen your hard work and the impact you are making and YES! we want to participate. Speaking of... that piano would be perfect. How about making an offer? Or doing a Go-Fund me to see if you could raise the money? I'd donate.
My mother always used mayonaise, miracle whip. It works on furniture. Put it on ,let it sit, rub off. Odd ,strange ,but works.
Amazon will have your table pads!
Rob, great job with the table. One question, isn’t there a router bit that would match the edge of the table? That way you wouldn’t have to sand it down so much? I don’t think you would have had to do a starter edge with the correct bit? Just saying. Keep up the good work! ❤
I have about 12 router bits, and none of them were at all close. It's such a gradual curve.
Someone planted a wild flower garden. You have Scottish thistle, blue statis, daisy. Maybe a steamer would help with the laundry.
Haha no no no the OWNER. Lol.
The book looks like an old missal from a Catholic Church. It is used to help you follow along the ceremony.
For ironing you need to buy a mangle o iron that presses linens in such a quick manner.
Aren’t they going to replace the gutters? That was part of my new roofing plan.
I think you did a great job on removing the stains. Only you see them, I don’t.
What a great idea to lengthen the table and put one under for support!
He could get volunteers to set up the chairs if it is a church that people care about. He just has to make sure they do that. Maybe he is just to tired or busy to do that. I understand it’s your place for events. I only say this because I was a fundraiser at one time.
Ever considered a Lift (tube elevator) in the Touret
Leslie, don't dismiss the bay leaves......you could pot them up after drying them and sell them as Chateau de la Grifferie Bay Leaves!
