I absolutely agree. Clearly he’s done his research on Majora’s Mask. (Probably more then most of the Zelda super fans I know!) He was just saying ‘Mermaid mask’ so everybody from the games fans, to people who have no idea about it can follow the story fluidly. Lots of documentaries, on any topic have made that mistake. Only to end up punishing the viewer for not knowing something, making it hard to follow because the writers wanted to appease the diehards of said topic.

The creppypasta story is well written and the game is already scary but can we take a moment to appreciate the amazing voice acting this man did ? It made it even scarier and felt more real and cool
I didn't know so much work went into it. He really carves out a sort of modern "around the campfire" ghost story, encouraging everyone to play along in a fun way to get the next scare. It's a lot more fun and involved than I ever assumed it was.
I don't know which creepypasta is better, this one or the "NES Godzilla Creepypasta", the amount of work and dedication put into those two pastas is something rarely seen, especially when it comes to creepy internet stories made as a hobby by a single person. And just like the videos are a nice little "something else" that BEN has and other pastas don't, in Godzilla's case it is the screencaps, which are all carefully drawn in pixel art style, which is a major plus on the storytelling and serves as a great complement to the writing, which is also superb. I highly recommend it if you guys enjoyed BEN. Really worth a read. Or better yet, watch Goji73's narration videos, he did an awesome job as a narrator, and the music choices for each area the pasta is describing are spot on.

It's weird to think that Ben Drowned ended up becoming a victim of its own success. Between so much of the ARG side of things being long removed and the story itself getting buried under a mountain of "haunted video game cartridge" stories, some decent but most bad copies that missed the point entirely, most people have forgotten how influential it was and just think it's another old RUclips meme. Which is kind of a shame considering how much time and effort had gone into it.
Yeah, Ben drowned stays apart from other creepypastas since it’s not just “ohh spooky man kills other people”. Ben drowned goes deeper then that, it’s also not only scary, it’s creepy and disturbing.

The remake actually told an ongoing story and Jeff only appears in one story. The rest of it is the impacts Jeff's murders had on people. It's actually pretty good
One of the things I like about the story when re-reading is that we actually don't know how much is really true after Ben gets on his computer. Nearly everything at that point is completely unreliable, which makes the story that much better.

I had no idea the Creepypasta went this far. :0 I love that they encouraged community interaction to play the game with the videos of the spells from the game and that he had multiple paths and ways to get to the ending. It's weird to think that Ben Drowned ended up becoming a victim of its own success. Between so much of the ARG side of things being long removed and the story itself getting buried under a mountain of "haunted video game cartridge" stories, some decent but most bad copies that missed the point entirely, most people have forgotten how influential it was and just think it's another old RUclips meme. Which is kind of a shame considering how much time and effort had gone into it.

One of the things I like about the story when re-reading is that we actually don't know how much is really true after Ben gets on his computer. Nearly everything at that point is completely unreliable, which makes the story that much better.

I had no idea the Creepypasta went this far. :0 I love that they encouraged community interaction to play the game with the videos of the spells from the game and that he had multiple paths and ways to get to the ending.
