Good grief McClain! You might give some context. 1. Bowman came in in Jan. He was in a 3 QB rotation, MSO he was splitting reps 3 ways in practice and in games. Became starter week 4 and lost top 2 WR - Bray & Stribling. Now, he has an entire off season as starter getting starter reps. 2. Defense had new DC and completely changed schemes from 4-2-5 to 3-3-5. There were several blown coverages early in the season causing the games to be close. But they were learning late in the season with great half time adjustments and shutting teams down in 2H. Now, Nardo has D1 season under his belt and they have film and entire off season to continue to install. Thus, even though roster is largely the same, there is still tremendous upside for this team.
If the secondary steps up, it'll be a good year. Offense will cook with all of the returners. Bowman demonstrated that he can stay healthy last year and had great production. Smarter reads will be a must obviously. 2nd year DC will obviously have better output especially with our LB room. It looks to be quite an exciting year if we can keep the big plays under wraps!
I agree with Rashod Owens really breaking out. Kendall Daniels is already a star and will not sneak up on anybody. Agree that the receiver room is the strength of this team. Those guys, coupled with an accurate Alan Bowman will open up Ollie Gordon to run wild again. The first two weeks of conference play will determine the Top 3 in the conference. Week 1 - Utah @ Cowboys and Week 2 Cowboys @ Kansas St. KSU and Utah do not play each other in the regular season so lets see what the league standings are for Week 3 in conference play.
If Oklahoma State had a good head football coach, the Cowboys would likely be among the top two or three teams in the conference every season. But Mike Gundy is the most overrated coach in collegiate football.
Gundy has taken a program with average (at best) history in a small town a mile away from a city big enough to have an indoor mall and won 166 games in his 19 years. That's top 5 among active FBS coaches. Oklahoma State has been in the top 2 or 3 in the conference 10 out of the last 13 years. And will again this year.
@@Jonus_Grumby How many conference titles do they have? Dak Prescott has won a lot of games for the Dallas Cowboys, but how have his team’s done in the playoffs? If you like to win regular-season games, then Gundy is your guy. If you ever want more than that, you need an upgrade.
@@sarahmccoy1941 That's the score on Gundy, lots of wins, including tons of bowl wins, not many conference championships. You said he was an overrated coach, I say relative to OSU"s resources and history he's a great coach. He'll get a couple of conference championships in the next few years before he retires. If we cave to the people who like you are implying, we'll be starting over with a new guy and probably not win any in the next few years.
@@sarahmccoy1941college football and the nfl are different sports, OSU doesn’t have the clout to get anyone better then gundy, he does more with less then anyone in FBS and is the only reason big 12 football is relevant in Oklahoma

I agree about the secondary I rewatched the Texas game and our secondary was getting torched I know they can be better this season.
Go pokes! Love to see some quality analysis of OSU outside of forums and stuff on the Internet!

I will be happy to be proved wrong if Bowman demonstrates that he is markedly better than he was last year.
If not, let Zane take the reigns
Not much of a sleeper they've been one of the most successful big 12 teams for over a decade now.
Ollie gonna go off.
I’ll drink to that!
