For what I see this one could be eligible for a restoration... I've already done two portable stereo this way: complete disassembly, dusting of the case parts and electronic boards, sanding of rusted out parts, deep internal clean up. Most parts of the boards can be cleaned with window cleaner and a brush, the switches and potentiometer parts with de-oxidant product. The case halves I clean up with dish soap, warm water and a lot of different size brushes.

Thank you very much!! Good to know for all you boombox restorers out there, I only used soap and rubbing alcohol plus a couple of toothbrushes, no dish soap but I will try your recipe for proper cleaning.

@@OLDBUTGOOD if you have a bathtub or any kind of wide basin you should use it as base for your warm water and soap. Even better if you can let the case soak for several minutes.

@@m80116 I think it's best in bathtub and I definitely have more room to move.

THis old analog stuff worked much better than those internetradio's and dab radio's of today. When you turned it on, you had music. With those stupid internet radio's you have to wait longer than the tube radio's from the old days!

By te way: the power consumption of these old analog radios are way less than those modern digital stuff!

This is also the case if you are in an area without internet, what do you do?? No one among today's electronic product manufacturers wants you to have sound quality, but only to be located where you are.
