I had to stop the video at the 42 minute mark. Just to post this comment. I am not an expert. However, I do have experience and read about this topic. Secret question answer are excellent. I am going to tell you why. You can make up any answer you want. If users are foolish enough to store the answers somewhere. O and I have been one of those users. You have hashing, encryption, even good old fashioned pencil and paper. It is a good balance for security and user customization. The problem is that too many users are just lazy. That is not the designers fault at all. I have tried helping people online and offline. In my experience most users are not ignorant; or at least not totally ignorant. They simply lack the will to take action to implement basic security. More often than not. Users are just too lazy to put in even the minimal effort. All the tools at their direct disposal.
