Great videos! I recently bought a router table with router and the Incra LS Ultra used for very little and this is tremendously helpful. The whole system with all of the templates is a little daunting without visual aids and straightforward explanations!

      Hi Dennis,
      Thank you for the feedback.
Yes it can be a bit daunting - hope you give it another shot.

@@TheWoodgrafter Yes, I piddled around some yesterday evening with it with a new set of router bits. I had watched the Incra DVD (video is on RUclips, actually) and had forgotten some of the steps or didn't follow them. Having watched your video on box joints, I think I have it figured out. Seems like it will be easy once I get a system down and practice the steps. The written/printed worksheet is a very good idea!
Can I use any stock thickness or just the ones listed in the book? That's one of the places where I am a little fuzzy. I have a bunch of 3/8" (9.5mm) stock and that should get me started. I believe the video says that you have to start with the router bit height lower and work your way up? Cheers!

It's like getting a meccano set for Christmas.
Can't wait to see the end results of this because like you I thought the Leigh Jig was the Daddy for routered dovetails.

+Parafinn Lamp LOL I never expected to see so many pieces the original intent of this video was to inbox and set up, but it then took nearly two hours to set it up - so divided it into two videos.
Haven’t got round to the dovetails yet, so much to learn and so little time.
      Cheers

Hi All, I had a comment asking how much this was - but the comment seems to have vanished.
This full kit came in at £599.95 I got it from Rutlands. www.rutlands.co.uk Always great service.
I know that seems expensive for a fence - but seriously think of it as a jointing system.
The Leigh jig with the various accessories in the kit (excluding the templates) I was going to buy came in at £679.50 If I buy the other templates that would add a further £500 + so by comparison it’s not a bad price.
I am sure you will have a different view :-)
    Cheers

Hi ...it was my comment, don't know why it vanished, i was looking for the comment this morning because I know you normally send an answer back .....strange 🤔🤔...
Yes I suppose the kit is expensive but if it does the job accurately and quickly it's,worth it's money, I bought the festool tracksaw and rail system being a Amateur woodworker some would say it's far to expensive, but I have to say i should have bought one years ago well worth the money, it's accurate, quick, you can buy parts , the service everything, i bought a titan tracksaw from screwfix , utter rubbish, waste of money, can't get the parts, no extra rails etc, anyway waffling on, basically you get, what you pay for.....😁😁

+Kevin Davies Comments are strange on You Tube the more you get the harder it is to keep track.
I have two apps on my iPhone to keep on top of them - so I saw your comment pop up, but then couldn’t find it. Strange.
I do think it is false economy buying cheap tools. You tend to out grow them quickly - and if you don’t get a lot of time in the shop then you want to maximise the output.
I guess it also come down to what you are making and to what level. So I am investing very heavily in tools that will operate way beyond my skill level - and maximise time in the shop. All about the time and quality impacting cost equation. So the more I learn the more the quality will improve the time will reduce and the tools won’t be the blocker. (That’s the theory anyway)
Anyway - glad we connected the comment back to the owner. :-)
Thanks as always for watching and taking the time to comment.

Great video and idea. Which LS is this? Table saw, router table, LS standard, LS Super? and what length is this?

0.05mm is impressive but will there not be more inconsistent lateral movement on the blade than that, making that level of accuracy redundant in practical terms?

Hello Andy. The LS Positioner also comes in a 32 inch (810mm) length. In your experience with the LS, have you ever had a need for a longer positioner? In other words, if you were to purchase the LS again would you rather have the 635mm or 810mm length?
    Thanks, Jim

      Hi Jim,
On very few occasions I have though the longer reach of the Incra would be of benefit.
When I purchased this I had it mounted on my Festool CMS so the mounting point and the cutter where in relatively close proximity.
However, I have now moved this to my workbench with a built in router so I have more reach.
Buying again I would go for the largest capacity I could accommodate. But it’s not a big enough problem to upgrade.
      Andy

@@TheWoodgrafter I really like you bench design with the cutting station and router table. When I saw it I thought," that is what I have been looking for". I plan to design a bench similar to yours, perhaps with 80/20 aluminum tubing.
Did you happen to see the other question I posted on your channel? If you have a chance to read the question, I would really appreciate seeing your answer. It is with this video:
      ruclips.net/video/mIFSC8cs8yo/видео.html
      Thanks,

      Hi Jim,
The bench is working out really well, I am really happy with the design. It would be good to see how you get on.
I think I answered the other question, let me know if I missed it.
