See for yourself! It's my favorite China sound ever. RUclips won't let me put a video link in the comments but you can check my videos for the one I did on how to strike a China.
AMAZING MY MAN , THIS IS NOT EASY YOU ARE VERY LOOSE WHICH IS HALF THE BATTLE THE OTHER IS TO REMEMBER ALL THE STROKES . VERY WELL DONE , I ONLY WISH . CAN YOU PLEASE PLAY THE YES SONG HEART OF THE SUNRISE AND MAYBE AND YOU AND I I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU DO THAT .
@BplusDrummer Thanks! Recorded with a Flip UltraHD for video and a Sony Minidisc with external stereo mic placed center/overhead for audio. My kit info is on my channel homepage- check it out!
@drums2play1 ->LMFAO!! Can you say..."hater"?? Oh & look at that...the hater's youtube account is closed. Prolly exceeded their hate limit & got booted. Anyway...great job man. A well done homage to a legendary band & drummer. Btw, do I possibly see a touch of Stewart Copeland influence in that left hand technique? ;)
The traditional grip doesn’t look natural for you. The rebound doesn’t look controlled. It looks too loose. That said you’ve got the groove that’s for sure. I liked it. Every note wasn’t accurate but he put enough of himself into it to sound good and not take away from the source material. I’d say stay away from traditional grip until you’ve mastered it but keep practicing with it. I started off playing traditional grip and playing anything with matched grip feels weird.
Very good replica....better equipment could have been use , sound , quality and also attempting to do Peart's fills was impressive , however lacked what Neil Peart only knows to do....C+ is my grade
you'll never be a machine? you're mentioning you'll never be mike portnoy or neil peart :P? What about your robotic left leg and its tendency to keep the beat? great cover man ^^
Gr8 job cool to watch! You added your own drum fill touches to certain parts of the song .A+
wow - thank you, and thank you for the support! I hope to record more soon!

Nice work with the left hand my friend. Been working on my left hand for 20 years.
Of all the people that should be recording with mics, you are very high on the list
you must like the police and 311, but your rush videos are by far the best.

I always thought the "the snare grip" was used for just snare or for jazz drumming. This video proves how little I know.

@rudiiwii1 Surething!
"haven't really played this all that often..." No reason to disclaim and pretend you haven't. You do a pretty good job.
